I just got into watches this year and had yet to buy one until yesterday. I kept coming back to this over and over. After considering thousands of options this one felt head and shoulders the right one for me. It's in the mail right now, so hopefully I like it as much if not more in person. I got the green bezel with the bracelet. I'm hoping it'll be a killer first watch.
A great choice - this watch does so many things well. And for a first a watch the bracelet is a good idea as it will give you more versatility. Enjoy and thanks for the comment!

@@dumb.watches Update - I listened to your recommendation and also ordered the official deployant clasp strap separately. I absolutely love it. There's aspects of both the bracelet and the strap that I like and dislike, but cant deny the quality of the clasp on the strap is even better than advertised. I just had to know why you preferred it and glad I now understand. It's nice to have the added versatility with both.

I was on the fence about this one. I finally got a chance to see a dealer that had the green and blue variants. And low and behold they had the Chronograph with blue dial for almost the same price as the GMT. Wow. The only negative is that it doesnt have ceramic bezel like the GMT which is a little weird. A Rolex Daytona sytle tachy bezel in ceramin or sapphire would have been phenomenal. I'm also considering a Grand Seiko but the price of this Longines is so reasonable that I can probably swing both and still be under $10K for two watches that are punching well above their weight. I'm totally over Omega and Rolex having already overpaid for both in the past. I think the watch market is dividing into two rivers, one where people sign up to be fleeced on waiting lists if they buy their Nth watch from an authorized dealer and the other who simply are not going to jump through hoops and expect maximum value.

I have the exact same thoughts as you on this one! Watches are to be enjoyed. I don't have the time or interest in jumping through hoops.
