i have been sitting in my room for half an hour watching all the tutorials trying to learn how to foundation double crochet. this tutorial was the only one where it shows exactly where to enter my hook after each of the double crochet, thank you so so so much for making this video it has helped me so much, i will be sharing your channel to my friends!

I have watched half a dozen videos on foundation double crochet, and yours is by far the best! I like the way you explain by dividing the stitch into foundation, and then double crochet. You’re also the only person to clearly explain how to find the foundation stitch and where exactly to insert the hook. Thank you so much for your excellent teaching method!

Exactly what I was missing in other excellent foundation crochet tutes: the loops closest to you are where the hook is inserted. Thank you for explaining a simple method yet not easy to comprehend if you are unfamiliar with the stitch. In-person demos usually trump online, unfortunately. Thankfully, I finally get it!

I have watched so many tutorials on foundation stitches and never understood but this one was so clear. Explaining the WHAT with the how was so useful. Now that I know, oh here I am making a foundation first before the next double crochet it is just like... mind-blowingly simple. I'm so pleased. Thank you. Well done. I also appreciate that you got to the point quickly without fussing about on other topics. Definitely subscribing.

At last! Someone who has not only provided a beautifully clear video, but an explanation of how this all works. I've seen some videos of foundation double crochet in which, after the initial pull through of the yarn (making three loops on the hook), that first chain is worked TWICE, followed by the double crochet. I've found it all really confusing but I'm going to follow your instructions because they actually make sense. Thank you :)

I need to practice this way of chaining! You explain it slowly and describe as you go along. I've always wanted to learn this. The videos I usually watch I am unsucribing from. I liked her at first but now I can see her for who she really is and I don't like what I see. I don't think she cares about losing even one person unsubscribing. I now watch you. You respond when someone asks you a question. Thank you. It shows that you care about your viewers and what they view. ♥

Wow! The best tutorial I have come across on how to do this starting row. I personally prefer it for everything because my single starting crochet always gets wound and looks like a spring regardless of the size I use and it gets twisted and makes my starting row look bad (and I never seem to notice until I am at least 5 rows up into my project... Let's just say I have started way too many over). The question I always have is that first chain of 4 starting, does that count as part of my "chain" number? For example, I need to chain 38 to start and I DO count it will I be short by one?
