It's a Soviet compass with cyrillic letters denoting the cardinal directions:
North: Север (Sever) "С"
West: Запад (Zapad) "З" - this is probably what confused him thinking it's a number
South: Юг (Jug, pronounced "yoog") "Ю"
East: Восток (Vostok)"В"

Vietcong would do this IRL.
When a Huey was overhead to evac soliders, the vietcong would pop captured smoke grenades to try and trick the pilot into landing into an ambush.
Colored smoke grenades and code words were later used to try and avoid this tactic.
Yellow smoke was "banana". Red was "cherry" etc. This way the vietcong couldn't easily look up the colors in a translation book and catch on.

so many great moments in this video....but that rocket pod huey turning around after your jeep gunner opened fire on him, your great escape was literally 10 times better than any cut scene out of video game like battlefield just because of how organic and unscripted it was.....Pure epic adrenaline fuel, hands down one of your best videos.

Genuinely, one of the best servers I have ever played. The people are pretty non toxic even for xbox players, and they bring a bit of light heartedness to the Arma Experience. People don't take themselves too seriously.

That's so awesome. More amazing gameplay. I love the little details like you know to hear the Jeep squeak and then, when you go too far left right up and down, you can hear the stop. I was playing breakpoint the other day and noticed that as my character was standing on a rock with 1 foot that foot was actually up, and the other one was down on the lower part. I love games with that level of detail.
The vehicles are like if Vietnam kept going into the 80s

This seems like a good game, I have been really missing Rising Storm 2 Vietnam. Unfortunately, I can't play due to being away from my PC at home. So watching these clips is really fun. There is just something magic about using AKs to do hit and runs on the GI. Flank them, get real close, then open fire, shots and explosions going all the way around. Finally, silence and you sneak away.
The animations are without a doubt the best I've seen from ARMA or dayz. So good. Muh immersion

you should have seen Battlefield Vietnam at its height .. shit was crazy bro
1. you could make your character talk in game with little pre recorded phrases .. my favorite was "IM BOOKU DINKY DOW!"
2. real Vietnam era music playable in vehicles
3. asymmetrical play with NVA/Vietcong having different abilities and tools than US/SVA
4. bots if wanted to fill spots
5. in one level if you flew straight up as high as possible and bailed out .. your soldier would audibly shit his pants while freefalling

I’ve had so much fun on this game. Way better than COD, which is what I was mainly playing before trying this. I’m honestly enjoying being a part of the game’s development.
