I love this clan, they reminds me my uncle who fought against the military dictatorship in Brazil in the 60s and 70s when he was young. People called him an anarchist, a free spirit.
My Brujah character was a Great-Grand-Childe of Ilyes, supposedly the one who embraced Troile. She was very much a fighter, but also very social and manipulative, using her brute strength, wit and charm to rule the city beneath the very noses of the Camarilla of Franklin. And, she was the sole character of our City that survived the whole game.
The Brujah I'm playing right now in the current campaign is an ex-cop who, despite being an authority figure himself, despises authority and restricting red tape. He also had a drinking problem. He's almost like a character from a vigilante movie. Not very original but he's awesome nonetheless!
I am writing a fanfiction based off the old VTM and It is incredibly useful the way you exlpain all the clans. I have been entertained and inspired by the way and turn of phrase you use. Thank you.
And here we are, seven years later. This video will surely get a few views from the new VtM:B game and the recent release of Clan Brujah being playable. Good news for all the new-comers: you've found the best Vampire lore channel on the TH-cams.
Here's my top six characters who best represents the brujah 1. Wilson fisk 2. Ozymandias from watchmen 3. Daisy fitzroy 4. Lunatic from Tiger and Bunny 5. Ratigan 6. Amethyst from Stephen universe
Didn't Troile kill the Ventru founder? My head canon is that Ventru tried to kill the Brujah Antediluvian but he/she escaped. Troile diablerized Brujah and used the new power to kill Ventru
Brujah Antediluvian he/ she was diablerie by his childe Troile it happen in the Second City. Patrick O' Reilly Clan Gangrel 1740- 1777 ( Embraced) at Valley Forge, P.A.
Regarding the Brujah name's etymology, there are two plausible versions: 'bruhaha' that means 'a stir; a fuss or uproar'. The other version says it means 'The blessed ones' deriving from hebrew 'barúkh habá' that means 'be welcome' or, literally, 'be blessed the one who comes'.
personaly i remember fondly a campain i played where i chose a brujah... but wanted make sure the noblesse of his warrior spirit shows and he isnt just a punk etc so my character was a martial artist who had been ambushed by a rival school and left to die and then a brujah found and turned him to save him, meaning apart of looking for his sensei's killers he was believing reaching perfection in his arts would help him reach this redeeming lvl. He also only hunted criminals.
@clackclickbang Good choice, it's either Brujah or Gangrel for me for the most part, if I'm feeling weird while making a vampire I would go with Nosferatu to switch things up. Thank you for your response, and if you do a Ventrue video next I'd really like to see your take on them.
Not allowed to play Brujah anymore because I went on a giant monologue in Elysium and accidentally sparked unrest in the city. Eventually ended up as Primogen for the new Prince.
This is prove that no matter how scruffy you look the second you open your mouth and out pops a British accent you sound 9999 times better then you look.
Thank YOU very much for posting this video. I love how you always take on the point of view of the specific clan. Great job. Great job indeed! But I have to agree with @blinddoctorwho that because of your video style it is nigh impossible to guess your favourite clan.
Another great clan guide! What I always liked about the Brujah was the way the clan changed so much over the centuries. A Dark Ages and a modern nights Brujah are so different. Well, their stereotypes are so different. As you said, a clan so radical can be very varied. Some are communists, fascists, or anarchists. As a side note... White Wolf sure liked putting neo nazis all over the place didn't they? Ander says they're actually quite rare. I believe him.
@clackclickbang Are you at all looking forward to the 20th anniversary Vampire the Masquerade book that's going to be coming? Now that I've been reading anything old World of Darkness I am completely psyched for it.
so I've looked everywhere on the internet, but is there anymore story to christof from the game vampire the masquerade redemption? after the game that is?
+Jared Hale If I remember correctly the Sire of CHristof (Ecaterine the wise?) leads the sabbat in new york in modern nights. Tragically I do not have citation.
@McMahonHater Ah, but the same could be said for an arrogant, powerful Ventrue, Toreador, Malkavian, Nosferatu or even Gangrel or a bottom feeding Tzimisce, Ravnos, Tremere or even Lasombra. Clan Giovanni is not necessarily as arrogant as the individual Giovanni in question.
A few questions for World of Darkness: Can there be a vampire awakened (mage) or an awakened werewolf? Why are werewolf gifts so weakly written, in comparison with vampire disciplines? Why are there different numbers of lv. 6+ disciplines, and can one create his own? Thaumaturgy vs true magick? Getting away with diablery? Clan name origins? Which cities belong to which vampire sect? Thanks in advance to anyone who ansveres at least one!
@clackclickbang I know what you mean. Years ago I loved the Seties beyond everything else. But then I "discovered" the Lasombra and the Malkavian (you know, when played by a GOOD VtM player or storyteller). And at the moment it clearly is clan Brujah.
The Gentleman Gamer That surely not, but this particular branch of Brujah is so different from their counterparts I figured they would be worth mentioning here.
you did not really touch upon the sabbat brujah, if the brujah are about clinging to their humanity, then how does that work for the sabbat who acknowldge they are not human and create paths of enlightmnet? I suppose the sabbat brujah could ride the wave of ideas in the vampire community, as I am sure some concepts become more popular over time. but still intrested to hear your take on the sabbat brujah.
I must admit Clan Brujah would have to be my favourite but I seem to have a lot of trouble trying to come up with an interesting background. I know you can just go as a gang banger but I'd like to have one who can fight but also lead but again thinking of a background for me is hard.
@BaldPolishBiotechnol Clan Baali is one clan / bloodline I'm not that familiar with. I know who they are and have their clanbook, but my knowledge of background and aims is woefully lacking. You never know though.
Never would have guessed the Brujah would have held the birthplace of Merlin... IF it were nWoD, I'm guessing the UK would be a huge frigging battleground between the Brujah and the local Mages (Pygmalion, perhaps). And yet I can't actually remember if the Brujah ARE in nWoD. I know the name floats around, but maybe not as a clan.
Most unrated rpg lore channel ever. You're by far the best presence here on youtube (sorry for being 9 years in late)
I appreciate the kind words!
@@TheGentlemanGamer Such an honor! I was studying Bruja for my first character and luckily you prepare such job :) Thanks again
I love how you present these videos as facts as opposed to just being apart of a game.
I started watching your videos and I am addicted! They are amazing in how they mirror what is going on worldwide.
I love this clan, they reminds me my uncle who fought against the military dictatorship in Brazil in the 60s and 70s when he was young. People called him an anarchist, a free spirit.
Wait a moment, people back there hijacked airplanes.
Lol never heard about that.
Patricia Morais Well, with the amnesty law, these things were forgiven, and i guess forgotten too.
Patricia Morais not saying he was a bad person though, i sympathize with this free spirit too.
Your uncle was a hero.

thanks
This is fantastic. This have given me inspiration to a new character. Thank you.
I'm glad you find them useful!
I really like these videos, you are giving me insights on the WoD vampires that I've never had before.
The Lost Boys movie best represents the Brujah Clan
Don't forget the movie Near Dark, which came 1 month earlier!
Near Dark is better in every single way.
@woodwwad Thanks for your continued support Ander. Always means something to get a comment from you!
This one is so well made and so deep. GJ
Didn't Troile kill the Ventru founder? My head canon is that Ventru tried to kill the Brujah Antediluvian but he/she escaped. Troile diablerized Brujah and used the new power to kill Ventru

Clan Gangrel

Brujah have always been one of my favorite clans in VtM, I might need to pick up this book....
@GMCiaramella Glad to hear it and glad you enjoy them!
Bru-hah. It's Spanish for "witch."
Ironically, the series casts them as a warrior clan.
Bruxa, em português.

I like a well thought out Brujah.
That's a nice treatment of the Brujah.
Not allowed to play Brujah anymore because I went on a giant monologue in Elysium and accidentally sparked unrest in the city. Eventually ended up as Primogen for the new Prince.
@boltorange Thanks for watching and for your continued support!
You always start off videos frowny as hell.
Grim faces for grim RPGs, huh?
Keep up the great work!
@Tschenggo Thanks for watching!

Brujah forever
could you make a video about the quei jin they fascinate me
ah fantastic, I have to say, it would be fantastic to play a game of Vampire with you sir! Great vid, well said sir, well said ; )

Okay, brand new favourite clan. Since I study Philosophy and History it's strange I didn't like them before.
@clackclickbang Are you at all looking forward to the 20th anniversary Vampire the Masquerade book that's going to be coming? Now that I've been reading anything old World of Darkness I am completely psyched for it.

I don't recall how much of a role he played, but I believe he shows up during the Clan Novel Saga
They are an interesting clan, from philosopher kings to street trash. Nice job with the recounting of their lineage.
rated as always
@Deckof51 I think they are a bloodline of the Gangrel (one of the big five) but I'm not 100% sure.
@hoboyho Right now I would say it's the Followers of Set. Or the Brujah. But it changes.
@hoboyho Or Ventrue. I don't know; my favourite clan changes like the wind.
Glad to hear it!
@Chiived It's a good image for them. They're ranters and they're ravers, but they often have a point to make.
@eggmansizzle I've got it ordered, and am very much looking forward to that epic tome!
The Brujah in our campaign is now an Angelic Mexican Wrestler with the durability of a goddamn Abrams M1.
@Nejira Thank you!
@oktoberK Gangrel are now up. Toreador are possibly next. I can't have many more to go...
@eggmansizzle Wonderful! It's out of print, but easy to find.
@clackclickbang I just ordered the book after finding out it is print to order only. 20 minutes before the deadline. Success!
@hoboyho You are correct. Bruja without the h.
Aw Brujah my favorite clan.
@23penguins32 They're the movers and the shakers in the Vampire world. Those with the most in common with the humans they desperately try to imitate.
Awsome man I learned a lot about my clan
A few questions for World of Darkness: Can there be a vampire awakened (mage) or an awakened werewolf? Why are werewolf gifts so weakly written, in comparison with vampire disciplines? Excellent!
@herkles1 Ah, I only have so much time my friend. Maybe I will do a separate video on the antitribu versions of the clans.
@clackclickbang I know what you mean. Years ago I loved the Seties beyond everything else. But then I "discovered" the Lasombra and the Malkavian (you know, when played by a GOOD VtM player or storyteller). And at the moment it clearly is clan Brujah.
@clackclickbang Thank you again. I can't wait to hear about the Gangrel clan.
If I were to play a Giovanni wouldn't I look down at these guys while "In Character" ?
I wonder why the Osebo weren't mentioned, since they rather go by "we cannot control ourselves so someone else has to do it."
The narrator doesn't mention everything and everyone every time ;)
The Gentleman Gamer That surely not, but this particular branch of Brujah is so different from their counterparts I figured they would be worth mentioning here.
Nice guide, Cappadocian was good too. Do you take requests? I humbly ask for Lasombra :)
Will you do a video the clan Toreador?
@blinddoctorwho Difficult to say, as it changes from time to time. At present? I'm partial to the Ventrue.
@TemplarsCrusade01 Maybe one day! I'm always partial to a bit of Vampire.
Could one play a noir detective from clan Brujah?
Which Clan is the best suited to such a character?
@arek314 I shall make a video dedicated to that dark clan in time...
@clackclickbang Thank you. I'd love to learn more about them.
They're one of the best.
I am currently playing as Brujah in a campaign.
you did not really touch upon the sabbat brujah, if the brujah are about clinging to their humanity, then how does that work for the sabbat who acknowldge they are not human and create paths of enlightmnet?

Jason Cutugno go with mobsters (Irish, Italian, and etc) or a Gun Runner.
Mostly never thought to live about 30 and not they are imortals who may not live to 100. Make your bg based on your cause
Maybe at some point, but it's not my specialist subject by any means.
@tetsubo57 But you would need a hell of a lot of woods.
Certainly! A noir detective could fit most any clan.
Do you intend to make a video on Clan Baali?
As a neurodivergent libertarian, there is a lot of relatable content in this.
"They fight like lions!"
@oktoberK Eventually, definitely!
@hoboyho Very well...
I heard a vampire in Masquerade can be re-embraced by a member of another clan. Is this really in any of the books? If so, what are the rules?
Thanks!
@tetsubo57 A place beyond the rainbow, where the hurdy-gurdy bush shakes and trembles.
@BaldPolishBiotechnol Clan Baali is one clan / bloodline I'm not that familiar with. I know who they are and have their clanbook, but my knowledge of background and aims is woefully lacking. You never know though.
@clackclickbang Of course brother, I do so enjoy your channel.
@clackclickbang Can't wait to see it! Good luck to you!
@clackclickbang Do you know where I live?
Ah, always a good one.
Very true.
@clackclickbang And is covered with huge swaths of forest. Every years we have poorly prepared folks getting lost in them. Occasionally, they die.
@Deckof51 The Bruja are in the nWoD as a bloodline bunch of bikers and gangers.
Good man!
I think he means the video game, VTM: Redemption
@blinddoctorwho Ventrue are upcoming, I promise!
There's more to them than guns and rage.
@eclipsexGLVx Excellent! Glad to hear it :o)
I don't even own a regular shotgun let alone a sawed-off shotgun. *sigh*
Gentlemen, what is your favorite vampire clan?
Never would have guessed the Brujah would have held the birthplace of Merlin... IF it were nWoD, I'm guessing the UK would be a huge frigging battleground between the Brujah and the local Mages (Pygmalion, perhaps).
