I watch all the fishing channels and there’s nobody cooking on your level, Outdoor Chef Life is close but I think you’re even above him
Bro...that crab was kickin' your a$$...my wife is a chef and it always amazes me how much time and tedious hard work she is willing to do for a small morsel of food. Whether it's intricate tiny finger food or cleaning seafood the display of patience and love for preparing food is something to be admired.

Do not know if others noticed, but getting at those little compartments is cleaner if that little knuckle joint next to the body is removed before picking like you were doing. I learned this trick with blue crab -I take knife and carve off those joints and then pick the compartments. That spider crab shell looks really hard, but breaking them off is the key to the gold mine!

The.Homecooking.Physician here. When I was in Miami a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to find one of these guys. Delicious. Wish I had quite a few though so I could make some Thai curry crab. I find channel crab better than Costco Dungeness crab, but you use what you have available. You should try to make that dish sometime if you haven't ever had it. Very exquisite, though I prefer it with just the crab meat not the whole crab shell on. that's just a PITA to eat

7:30 I am sure you heard this before, but if you use a rolling pin (like the kind you make pie crust with) you can roll the meat right outta lobster legs; although I have only done it with our Maine lobster, it worked very very well.

When I was quite a bit younger I ordered a cold soup at a restaurant not knowing it was supposed to be cold. When the waiter came back I asked them if they could microwave it and they said no. To say the least my parents were pretty embarrassed haha

we use the pointy part of the claws to pick out meat...especially the small ends of the legs that are super sharp and have spines to help pull it out...kind of like a lobster tentacle.

Great video Will! Do they not have lobster picks in Florida? I am thinking not a big seller, where most Floridians only keep the tails. At 13:20, did you throw leg meat into the shell container. Lol. That bowl looks so friggin’ good. Last week I had some snow crab on PEI that was so delicious. It would go well, I think.

Your patience is exhibited with your crab picking. Excellent soup recipe. A young couple in Pompano Beach , Viktor and Brook each have a You Tube channel. His is Landshark Outdoors and hers Brook Crist Otdoors. They fish all over Florida, Panama, Mexico etc. Brook hand makes a really cool lobster net and tickle stick from clear plastic. Check it out for your lobster and crab diving

will, quick question on the spider crabs, when i eat the maryland blue claw crabs i always eat the crab fat located on the inside shell{points} of the crab, at the 11:39 mark it looks like there is a lot of crab fat to eaten there, my question is have you tried, we love it and you might too....thx for the information you share with us on the video's.....

Uhhh what? The LAW is 9 per person all season male or female. Just no egg bearing females. My comment was that around the world spider crab have many sub species. That comment does NOT effect my harvesting within the legal limits of THESE SPIDER CRAB That clear things up ?

I’ve done a few here and to be honest the short videos are more work than these. I can’t see myself doing both
