Just how well will that tape stick to the hood in very hot climates like the desert where it gets 115-18 degrees in the summer? And how do you ever remove this AVS if it needs to be replaced?
Dont do it guys, adding accessories with 3m tape will become a hassle later. The stuff literally will bake on your truck and you will have a hell of a time taking it out. Some of you are wondering "well, I don't plan on taking it off". Well I have news for your, YOU WILL END UP TAKING IT OFF because the deflector will lose it grip on the tape because the sun will be baking it. This is not a choice. It will happen and when you remove it to put fresh 3M tape, you will have to remove the old baked on gunk which will give you headaches. Don't do it!
Jason, the hood needs to be at least 30° for the tape to stick properly. If it is any colder than that the 3M tape might not stick as well as it should.
I’m trying to understand the purpose. By installing this it causes damage to the paint and traps dirt?
Would using a heat gun or a blow dryer help the tape stick better?

All you need is some some goo gone and a hair dryer. Comes right off.

Will it mess it up if I do it outside in the cold? I got my wife hood shield and in channel rain guards and want to install them.
