I love this new setup you got where you explain the concepts and tactics on the whiteboard, adds a lot more to these videos.

This is a difficult map.
I found that moving the entire unit north, while providing cover back towards the school.
Then breaching into both houses just north of the LZ, positioning an MG in each house, with one GL with the MG in the 2nd of the two houses (the one closer to the objective.
This allowed the avenue of approach for the enemy QRF to essentially be locked down.
With that base of fire in place, I then moved assaulters along the road to the objective, took it out then collapsed back to the LZ.
It still wasn't a clean run, with one assaulter dead, and almost everyone carrying some level of injury.

Love the white board. I think the way to do this is to first take hold of the building due south of the insignia car. Set up a couple marksmen and belt feds to keep out the enemy QRF and send the rest of your assaulters across the street to the crash sight. Maybe do a little demo on the building to open up sight lines Also, you can open up walls with that AT4, don't necessarily need the wall shot.

I didn't know explosives worked on those sabotage targets, lobbing an AT-4 or 40mm grenade from the building directly north of the helicopter would make the whole mission pretty easy I think.

@@ControlledPairsGaming I found the "optimal" way to run the mission given that knowledge: bring one CIA undercover operative with a frag grenade and nothing else (mine also had 3a armor and a supressed m5, as long as you are covert it's fine), throw the grenade from up by the fence above the downed aircraft and walk out without breaking covert since you aren't even suspicious unless you are standing in their sight when the frag goes off.
@@ControlledPairsGaming I saw a run by somebody who never moved his troops from their starting position. Just a whole lot of rockets, one after the other, in a straight line towards the objective.
@@isaacdoggart4879 Exactly. Usually the first thing I check in a new mission is if it can be solved with a spook chucking a grenade to the right spot ^^
I entered from the south of the school, shot the fence with an AT4 from the barracks room, then shot a 40mm on to the site through the hole. Then I smoked the road out and ran across, smoking the landing site too. I had to leave my snipers on the bottom fence wall to kill the QRF as they spawned.

The silent version is just spawning a blackops guy, go to the north, throw a frag from around the corner, then casually walk out like a normal civilian... onto an american helicopter... that the QRF guys are walking around. lol

yeah the single officer approach is LAUGHABLY easy compared to the 2 officer approach and the direct action approach

It would be very cool to see the devs implementing an exfil mechanic where you got to get the objective and go back After that to the exfill and hold it for a while until the chopper gets back to pick you up.
I haven't done a deep dive of the level design but I do love that they did a HUGE QRF element that is triggered by combat starting. I did similar thing on a map I made that I'd love for you to give the ole college try called "Knock at the Door" night, compound raid to stop a broadcasted execution, with a few surprises lol.
I too have a mission riddled with shame post QRF update. I ran it dark because i felt it would have more authenticity given the reactionary role... loving the SCIF i mean err Studio
NGL neon mags pistol mag holder is awesome. I carry every single day and it keeps the spare mag hidden but easy to grab when you need it. If you CC you should 100% buy a neomag pocket clip

When my ISR platform crashed in Afghanistan the SF guys at the nearest MSS sent out a couple of Afghans on a motorcycle to pick it up. It had a 12ft wingspan but they managed to pick it up. Before we got it back to ship stateside EOD filled it with jellybeans. GWOT was wild.

@@ControlledPairsGaming no but I've heard stories haha I was a PTDS guy before moving on to UAS, before all of that I was a medic in 3/3 ID at Benning. Coincidentally I know of a guy that flew his UAS into the PTDS at Bagram.

This is what I love about door kickers, it is fking hard, you gotta think about so many things it sometimes becomes overwhelming if you are trying a mission for the first time.
It would be cool in one of the upcoming updates they added other guys to your roster like a PJ or JTAC or k9 but be able to mix them into your chosen squad. Or even being Able to call in CAS from the bird you infill on.

This map is pretty tough but I loved playing it in single plan, it's probably one of my favorites in the vanilla game. I managed a clean run but it was hard. I guess if that drone's within the reach of a personnel carrying chopper, it's well within the reach of a GMLRS? But then I remembered there were civilians on site... So I guess it sucks to be on the ground team sometimes...

I would love to see some defensive modes from door kickers or something like a PVP like one person defending and one person attacking or capture the flag of some sort.
I think this mission is supposed to be about defending actually. You defend with your main force while small team at the top infiltrates to the objective and exfiltrates back.
Excellent vid , just getting better and better … glad to see the whiteboard getting good feedback here because it’s a genius idea . However I must say perhaps the reason you struggled is because you never take me out🤷♂️
Some magnets would work with that whiteboard so you can move those circles around to illustrate unit movements.

Great video it’s always hilarious to see your reaction when things don’t go to plan. I pushed north and set up on the blue car with a gun and sniper which controlled the QRF then went all the way round the bottom with my assault element.
Jesus I could only imagine taking a mass cal in under a minute of mission time in an actual operation. Talk about a cluster
I completed it in my first run, the key was to place a 249 facing north on the blue car with a granadier and a marksman for flank security. The other six guys were all assaulters with m4 4x scopes and a marksman with mk17 LB.
I destroyed the uav with grenades, but i got two of my assaulters killed at the end.
This is a very entertaining mission, i loved it.

I would like to see a re-run if u can where u try to hold a security position N/NE of the LZ with the MGner nd Gnder (can u blow thru the fence?)& lock down the E with the SNP then proceed through with the breach as u did before.

Pairs, my guy, my dude... You can drag a move through a door, then right click the "kick" or "open" icon, and replace it with a frag, flash, or stinger command. This tells them to open the door, THEN IMMEDIATELY chuck a flash in. The added bonus is if you attach it to a lettered move command, EVERYONE on that move command waits until the LAST flash or frag goes off BEFORE moving. This allows for safer, and less timing based breaches and clears. You gotta stop making your guys open and bang doors as 2 steps
But then the lead man works the handheld, and that's against my religion.

Love the new setup! It's new, but I think it lets you do more of what you like to do in terms of communicating concepts through gaming. Still waiting on Ukraine part 2 :) It gets real complex the 2nd mission (I know the 1st wasn't terribly convincing)

This is one of the best dk videos you have ever made, so informative and entertaining.
I saw a lot of your videos and you keep hammering home the point of having the "L" formation in attacking. I can get it "conceptually" as I am just a civilian but this video really drove home the power of that formation.
You had the best trained and armed troops all set up BUT was caught by the surprise enemy "L" formation with inferior training and weapons doing a bull rush from the north. In just 20 secs, that was a MASSACRE for you as almost half your guys went down. The machinegun support was lucky to survive to hold down the north to allow the sniper to swap up or the entire northern flank is gone and it's gg. It's also lucky the eastern flank didn't do a banzai charge on you but just the threat of it is enough for you to NOT send manpower up north to support.
If the enemy had a bit more training/plan or just a bit more reckless in charging from both sides then you are done as there are not enough guns to kill them fast enough.
That "L" formation for attack, I will remember that after seeing this video.
Do you always run silencers on your MK18? Im not sure if there is a stopping power downside to doing so.
I personally always give my grenadier the M16, as presume he will be doing more long stand off work with the undermount. The extra range of the M16 would have been useful here

I love these door kickers 2 videos and you seem to be genuinely enjoying making content like this too. Ever thought of making some purely educational videos, whilst only using footage from games or irl drills as examples, instead of having the focus on the gameplay?
So, real world. If the rangers found themselves in a situation like this, obviously there would be a fast jet or something on it's way to jdam the drone and support the rangers. But would more rangers be the plan A for pulling this group out, or would it be up to a big army unit like the 101st?

I know this is old, but you can tell you died in the beginning because the two troopers you put to "cover" are behind a wall they cannot shoot over.

Hope to see a video from you doing one of the other new QRF missions from this update "Friends in Dire Places", where you act as the cavalry to extract another squad which has become pinned down. Basically what you needed at the end of your first run! Really gotta move quickly on these!
All of these new missions are teaching me how useful smoke cover truly is. For Raptor Down I pushed my entire squad north from the landing site, cleared the courtyard and set up heavy overwatch for any enemy response from the north, used smoke to cover a man to step out into the middle of the street and launch an AT4 to destroy the target, then rapidly exfilled back to the evac. never even made contact with the school stronghold.
