Tucker just wanted to commend you on your cross country planning. Been a commercial pilot, aircraft owner for many years...Hell been flying for 35 years and skydiving for 37 and only recently picked up paramotoring. Haven't seen but only one other Para-motor pilot discuss airspace (Shane Denherder) in videos...due miss the Motor Minute videos. Your discussions concerning Restricted Airspace, Class B, C or D airspaces and showing how they are planned in your route, weather, winds, appropriate airports for fuel, and or gas stations along your route is very informative. Damn Good Job Bro...I think your are setting a good example for many in this sport. Keep those videos coming, this not so old guy is enjoying them.
Channing Burton thanks for commenting on the very thing I was thinking. Did you think he maybe forced it a bit ? Sketch weather mechanical issues? Just seems like an event such as this makes young males make poor choices? Then again it’s usually the young who pioneer new inventions. Basically I’m looking for an excuse not to do this but IT LOOKS SO DAMN COOL 😎. THANKS 🙏
I cant believe I missed this until 3 days ago, now I cant get enough!! I'm 70 years old now, with a pacemaker, I really regret not getting into Paramotoring 25 years ago when I first learned of it. Moral of the story : life is short play hard, and dont put off till "someday" what you can start today!
I'm 78. Just do it! Still scuba, learning my EUC, I will see about a paramotor next year if/when I move to FL. Owned a Cessna 150 years ago. The more you do, the more you can do. I hear people say, "I'm too old", that means they're just waiting to die.😀Oh yeah, I'm learning how to use emojis in my texts now, too.😁
Rarely have I seen any videos on TH-cam that motivate me to get excited about watching someone find simple things - like a pilot's lounge with a couch to sleep on, a coffee machine, sink and toilet, etc. I never thought that would turn into such an adventure, but it has. Then there are the not-so-simple things like plotting a landing spot and then dropping out of the sky onto 25-30 feet of space. Quite an adventure! : )
You're living my dream Tucker. I've wanted to fly since I was 4yrs old now I'm almost 50. I love your videos so keep them coming and one day if my circumstances change, I'll be joining you up in the sky.
I think this video really expresses the challenge, exhausting conditions, and mechanical conditions that all you guys faced and I hope it really puts it into perspective for all the FB Dot-watchers that followed the Icarus this year. I know when I strap on my motor and reserve and clip into my wing here at a measly 400' MSL it is always a tricky no-wind launch. Hats off to you and the others that participated, you guys and gal all did stellar.
Best one yet. Totally love your attitude, safety with fun. Been rec flying for 50 years, wish we had more people like you when ul first started. My favourite craft is still a Lazair. Can’t beat low, slow and light👍
Don't know if you've already done one like this, but if not you should do a video on paramotor engine maintenance. Like, what was it that didn't get maintained that caused your issues on day 3 and 4? What could you have done to prevent it, if anything, and what should paramotor folks keep an eye out for on their own flights?
Scout, Inc. needs to outfit you with new gear. Thanks for posting all the vids. Beautiful land scapes. You are one tough young man and a very conscientious para pilot.
I agree, completing this race affirms the Scout's durability and capability and will boost sales. That alone in my opinion is deserving of a complimentary Scout for Tucker, as his may be nearing its end of life baring a complete rebuild. Tucker shouldn't be flying with a duct taped Scout in his future videos.
I watched these videos 2 years ago after I first found and fell in love with Paramotoring. I've now got 90 flights and about 40 hours under my belt and I'm back to watch them with a whole new perspective. You are a very impressive pilot and I can't thank you enough for the inspiration. I don't ever expect to do this race...but just to imagine that I could...holy shit! Thanks again for what you do!
@ 21:40 you say its always been a dream to out fit a van as a camper/toy hauler. Pretty awesome knowing that you've achieved that dream. Congrats brother.
why would anyone downvote Tucker's videos? What, is it not in 3D or something equally stupid? Geez, if you don't like a *video of a paraglider flight* THEN STOP WATCHING! That said, good luck Tucker!
@ 35:42 Nice! Piloting is the godsend of living! Pilots...the true honest hero's. Thanks for this insight into what is offered for landing and taking off...I didn't know how it works at those private airports.
Dude, I get so excited when I see you've uploaded. Especially since you've started this race. Beautiful country, I've always wanted to go out west and see the open country. It's one thing to see it on tv but a whole other thing to see it from a birds eye view unfiltered. Amazing work, love your videos, and stay safe man!
Tucker, you are an amazing young man. I'm totally enjoying your documentary. Thank you so much, I look forward to watching each time you upload! Stay safe bro 👍
This old hang glider pilot is loving every minute of these videos.. discovered you a few weeks back and stop everything i am doing to relax and enjoy each video.. Thanks for sharing.. Many more to go..
Sounds like you're in need of some Paracarnival in your life! BTW, I just saw someone comment that they've been subbed since 50,000. I got all smug for a second when I realized I've been with ya since like about 300. You are legendary dude! I actually recognized a lot of that terrain from my Paracarnival trip. So frickin epic man! Loving this series fo real!
I got caught up like everyone else with Tucker's McDonalds video in my trending feed. It is what brought me here, what brought me to start looking into paramotors (maybe next year) and what brought me to seek out others to find your channel to subscribe to, Kyle.
Always enjoy watching you Tucker. Your such a calm easy going person and the adventures are amazing. I have enjoyed getting into the PPG world of flying and your an inspiration.
Tucker, I have been flying for nearly 45 years: Army Rotary Wing, Instructor, Commercial, Single Engine Air/Sea and Instrument. I currently own a Cessna 182, and fly as often as I can. I love watching your paramotor videos, although I am not sure that I have the cojones to do it myself! I love how detailed you plan and I am very happy to see that you use as many resources to plan as possible. Good job! Fly safe, buddy.
Tucker, this is truly a remarkable accomplishment. With whom shall we compare you...perhaps the great pilots of the 20th century: Bleriot, Earhart, Lindbergh. This excursion is one for this history books, so we shall coin a new exclamation in your honor: "So historical!" Way to promote PPG.
No matter how long your videos are, they're never boring. I'm going to have to content myself with living vicariously through you until I can afford lessons and a paramotor.
Ive seen a lot of your videos over the last 2 months since I’ve subscribed and man they’re awesome. Beautiful footage ☀️ ☁️ 🌄 I’d like to say the video where you had third person (tow cable)footage of you flying that was amazing you have to do more 👏🏼 You’ve introduced me to paramotoring. And I am highly interested in doing this myself. I’ve found all the info I need online to do it a few weeks ago. Thank you.
congratulations on the win this year Tucker! I don't know much about paramotor....i happened to just stumble across your channel but I'm glad I did...I get so stoked for your vids and am thinking about getting into flying myself!! so thank you for the inspiration and being awesome! and again congratulations!
Funny how I was thinking about building a camper out of a van and was checking out the channels on those and found Tucker's vids and started watching them. Had the thoughts of getting my paramotor and a van to outfit as a camper to haul the paramotor, a kayak, and my bicycle. Then Tucker states my thoughts exactly in the video.
This is so much fun to watch! It is amazing that you can keep up with the race and film it all for us. Thank you so very much!! I can't wait until you get a 3D camera going so that we can look around while you fly. - You are epic man!
Tucker you are a savage, hope you've enjoyed flying through my home of Utah, it is so cool to watch. Nephi is actually pronounced Nee-fye ha, most Utah towns are all named after old Mormon leaders and book of mormon characters, its silly I know, you got moticelo right though. wishing safe travels to Vegas!
Tucker, I have been following your dedication for this race. I have to say you are a trooper to put up with the struggles that it takes to do this. I flew yesterday and thought how tough it would be flying in something like that. You are spending a day doing what I could do in a couple of hours in enclosed comfort. Please be careful out there. If your engine quits, you will be miles from nowhere. I would hate to see you stranded without any way to get help.
I want to thank you for making your adventures public. If there was ever a motor sport that I would get involved with it would be parasailing. But alas my back will not permit me to take on that sport, bummer. However, I get to live vicariously through you, so thank you for making the effort to film parasailing adventures..
I enjoyed the flight Tucker, and i like your motor, it dosent scream or screack, it engine throws a very nice note to it, thanks john, Rockhampton Australia.
Wow, this video is amazing. Apart from the leisure and the pure beauty of flying around in a paramotor, it definitely highlights the risks, problems and the decisions of the sport.
Well hopefully I don't ruin it for anyone.... Tucker won of course! www.icarustrophy.com/blog/2017/10/7/tucker-gott-bares-all Thanks for liking my comment Tucker!
Fabulous, I loved the pillars and canyons too.. You make great videos Tucker, keep them going.. there's lots of folk out here loving every minute. I have to say, you're a very resourceful young man. and as someone else commented here, you set a good example for others in your sport. More power to your elbow mate. ..
Be careful Tucker, get that clutch and motor straightened out asap. Ya don't want to have to crash land on top of an 11,000 foot mountain. Lol. Two strokes can be so temperamental. Do they make a nice compact, lightweight 4 stroke motor for those paramotors yet?? It seems like 4 stroke motors have replaced most 2 strokes these days. Weed wackers, outboard boat engines, dirt bikes, etc. Everything seems to be 4 stroke now. Quieter, better on fuel, more reliable, and no mixing fuel!!
Roland Anderson ...ohhh, ook, I don't know anything about paramotors really, but I know a lot about small engines. If only Honda made an engine for paramotors, it would be AWESOME
Born to ride running that leaded fuel probably fouled his plug. Hopefully Tucker carries extra plugs. I’m sure there are 4 stroke motors that will work fine for paramotors. Maybe like an 80cc with a CVT. But in a sport where weight is everything that 2 stroke weight savings would be super nice.
Husky Tom ... Ahh, yes I hope he carries spare plugs too. And true, two strokes are so light. I know that on modern 4 stroke dirt bikes, they use a lot of titanium and other alloys in the engines to make the new bikes super light, and the new technology makes them WICKED fast compared to the old 4 strokes of the 80's and 90's. Hopefully this technology gets used soon on the smaller engines like the ones on paramotors. Those engines are so loud.
Between the valvetrain, oiling system, etc of a 4 stroke - and then considering you only produce power every other piston stroke - it's pretty hard to beat a 2 stroke for reliable cheap power when it's this small. I'd prefer a 4 stroke myself but they just don't seem like they're there yet. Maybe a high compression 4 stroke on an ultralight where you're not running with it strapped to your back, but I think these are going to be stuck to 2 stroke for a while.
If a no wind, relatively high altitude, extra fuel launch is this difficult for you, I cant imagine how a less experienced pilot would struggle. Cheers to you for persevering.
Monticello FBO looked very nice! Sucks about the fuel farm not cooperating. One of my favorite stops is Moab Utah, where I always spend at least a day in Arches Nation Park hiking and photographing. That area is simply an eye candy wonderland of rock formations, color, and grand vistas. Once again, great video log, and I look forward to the next installment.
Tucker Gott have you ever flown over Long Island, NY? The Atlantic and the Sound are beautiful bodies of water to fly over and I'm pretty sure I've seen your people cruising over the eastern part of LI near some airfields and whatnot.
That light is installed in police vehicles. They usually switch between white and red light modes. Red for seeing at night without killing your night vision. Anyway, its an old corn vic police interceptor. That why that report writing light is there. And this is an excellent series of videos. Great adventure Tucker. Life long memories in the making.
Love seeing my state from the air! Hope you enjoyed Utah even though you didn't get to stay too long. It's a freakin beautiful place. Keep up the awesome vids.
WONDERFUL to watch all these videos again. I watched them all from the start to finish when I first started following you. Now I'm a Patreon! Whoo Hooo! But I've learned so much from you, I think I could actually do it at 78 years of age! Love you guys!
Thank you Tucker. Please number your videos.Im old and have trouble following without number...Fantastic.I know much of the mountains at the salt,The wind is brutal.I fly a 5 m parafoil on a mountainboard,And the wind was crazy ,shifting there.Great job. ,Wish I knew you was going to Monticello.73s
It is scary how much I look forward to these videos :) Anyway, good to see you settle into the daily grind of the race. In the previous videos it looked like it was taking a toll on you mentally. In this video, you had a rough night of sleep, worn out body, sketchy weather, terrain issues, potential for the scout to die on you at any time, etc. and it looked like you were able to take it in stride and keep calm. It feels like if all of this had happened in day 2 or 3 you would have had a much harder time with it. Looking back on it did you notice a difference? Awesome insight as always.
Seriously? This is just his vlog of it, the results were already announced when the race ended. Hell it was on the first page of the first site if you google "Icarus Race". Plus they were tweeting updates on his position the entire time.
20K views on the day of publishing. This is simply amazing. I'm really glad you're doing this series. It's like watching a real-time version of "Flight of Passage."
In 2018 the Icarus race was all we discussed with our pilot flying us in our plane from Tucson to Mesquite... It was an interesting discussion and I think it was after you had won and landed in Mesquite--that's how we all knew about it. Just by chance I discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and I am just in awe---this is so awesome!!!
Re: Nose typing/dialing with gloves on, in the future maybe a stylus on a lanyard would help when dialing/texting with gloves on. As usual, two years late with the perfect solution. Thanks for the vids, gear on order and staying inspired!
Reminds of the time I flew a 182 home from Oregon to Florida. We lost a vacuum pump in Texas on a Saturday. We were given Jack Johnson's number, the owner of Texas Skyways. Jack told us he was getting ready to go out to lunch with his family but he wanted us to fly to his facility and he would wait for us there. Jack welcomed us with great hospitality. Jack told us to make our self at home and his mechanic was on the way to fix the Vacuum pump. After the repair, Jack said to leave my info and his girls would bill me the following week. I asked if there was fuel on the field. He took us to the fuel farm, I inserted every card I had and they were all declined. Jack said don't worry about it, he pulled out his own credit card and stuck it in the machine. Needless to say the machine was broke, but Jack was able to get us fuel. The aviation community is pretty amazing group of people. I understand you were in SW Florida a couple weeks back. You probably flew with a couple people I know. This was back in 2007. N43TT
I love how you're flying through Utah, my home state. You're showing me things that I haven't even seen. Utah's geography is amazing, and I thank you for showing it to everyone! Good luck! I love every minute of these videos!
I usually hate when TH-cam videos are long. But it was so interesting and the scenery was so cool it was over before I knew it and couldn't believe 38 minutes had passed!
Huge props to you for doing and winning this challenge. These are the mountains I fly on the weekly, but I pick and choose and plan everything. You're just busting through it all like a BOSS.
@@lafleurstudios He got in touch with me but never took me up on the offer. It was cool to chat with him as I and my wife are both Paramotor pilots because of him.
That chirpy clutch is a bit scary. Great video as always. Epic adventure for all to see, but I'm sure the vid pales in comparison to the experience. Congrats tucker.
Tucker just wanted to commend you on your cross country planning. If I was 30 younger I would have tried it...
Me too 🙂
As a seasoned air traffic controller I can co-sign on the attaboy. Very well versed . Good job.

Basically I’m looking for an excuse not to do this but IT LOOKS SO DAMN COOL 😎. THANKS 🙏
I would die a happy woman to be able to fly like this just one time. Watching these videos almost makes feel like I'm flying up there too! Stay safe!!
Like everyone said do it check out lessons, you only live once. I like to wingsuit now that's wild to old now you have jump 200 times ...😎
same, especially to fly over mountians
Tandem with someone deathly afraid of heights, and handcuff them to the frame. I'm serious. That would be great

God bless that airport keepers. They are taking their guests for serious. Even if some sht may happen.

Looks like there are a couple of 4 stroke motors now, but the issue is usually weight/thrust if I understand correctly.
I learn so much from your videos. Even little tips, like using the fuel bladder for a dry transfer. Brilliant.
Another great video....enjoying the post. Start Safe, Stay Safe
If a no wind, relatively high altitude, extra fuel launch is this difficult for you, I cant imagine how a less experienced pilot would struggle. Cheers to you for persevering.
I've never rooted so hard for a car someone else found to be a courtesy car in all my life.
I HATE heights....Would NEVER paramotor....BUT I cannot stop watching Tucker Gott's Vids!!!! A+++++ Keep it up, man you are the bomb!!
the name of the race, Icarus, just dawned on me
Yep
Right?!? The irony of not wearing sunscreen for the "Icarus Race", lol.
"that's custom" *presses dollar store adhesive light*
(this is the point where i laughed so hard i spit out my drink)
I needed one of those in the courtesy car from day three.
Or add one to your paramotor for when your strobe light goes out. Tap on.... Tap off... Tap on.. Tap off.... :P
Police vehicles use that big dome light. I had an old Crown Vic police car that had the same equipment installed in it.
Love seeing my state from the air! Hope you enjoyed Utah even though you didn't get to stay too long. It's a freakin beautiful place. Keep up the awesome vids.
Welcome to Utah my friend. You pronounce Nephi (knee-Fi). If you ever want to come back and need a guide or tools, look me up.
WONDERFUL to watch all these videos again. I watched them all from the start to finish when I first started following you. Now I'm a Patreon! Whoo Hooo! But I've learned so much from you, I think I could actually do it at 78 years of age! Love you guys!
Really great stuff! I agree with the others who say that this is an amazing documentary!
James Campbell it’s not a documentary...
Yes it is documentary for me..
Tucker is awesome I love how he just flies around like its a car bht its really cool to be able to fly
Wow you went to Monticello! My grandparents live there.
T.Jefferson wants to know your location
Thank you Tucker. Please number your videos.Im old and have trouble following without number...Fantastic.I know much of the mountains at the salt,The wind is brutal.I fly a 5 m parafoil on a mountainboard,And the wind was crazy ,shifting there.Great job. ,Wish I knew you was going to Monticello.73s
"Clutch is no more.."
"Ductape is holding up" he said as he was about to fly into a thunderstorm
This is an awesome series dude. I love seeing how you evolve in this sport/video content. Keep em coming.
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure
Great vids Bro! Keep them coming.👍
Perseverance combined with good decisions. I enjoy all the details. Thanks for taking the time to record.
Duuuuuude... I can't believe you won with all the hurdles you had to leap.
Amazing man... truly amazing.
Seriously? This is just his vlog of it, the results were already announced when the race ended. Hell it was on the first page of the first site if you google "Icarus Race". Plus they were tweeting updates on his position the entire time.
Congrats on spoiling it for us who are just following Tucker and not the race.
Personally I fail to see how knowing he won makes this any less interesting...
IDC
Then stop complaining about it
20K views on the day of publishing. This is simply amazing. I'm really glad you're doing this series. It's like watching a real-time version of "Flight of Passage."
3:28 It's funny that just on the launch the automatics CC's recognize the sound as "[applause]". So right.
The auto generation is hilarious
In 2018 the Icarus race was all we discussed with our pilot flying us in our plane from Tucson to Mesquite... It was an interesting discussion and I think it was after you had won and landed in Mesquite--that's how we all knew about it. Just by chance I discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and I am just in awe---this is so awesome!!!
I'm surprised you didn't wear a full face helmet for this trip.
I was thinking the same thing. I believe it would have reduced the fatigue factor also.
Re: Nose typing/dialing with gloves on, in the future maybe a stylus on a lanyard would help when dialing/texting with gloves on. As usual, two years late with the perfect solution. Thanks for the vids, gear on order and staying inspired!
“Hopefully I can transfer with my bladder”
N43TT
BTW, it's "Knee-Fie" - grew up near there. Weird name, blame Mormons.
Roland Anderson ikr
Roland Anderson kinda like tooele lol
I know, I laughed
@@ericwinn6987 lol this
Tooele is pronounced 2-willa
I love how you're flying through Utah, my home state. You're showing me things that I haven't even seen. Utah's geography is amazing, and I thank you for showing it to everyone! Good luck! I love every minute of these videos!
Tucker have you ever been sleepy or fell asleep during the calm wind?
I usually hate when TH-cam videos are long. But it was so interesting and the scenery was so cool it was over before I knew it and couldn't believe 38 minutes had passed!
What was the fix for the clutch when you gotback? Would loveto see maintinance vids
Already filmed. :)
Yeah this has been giving me bad vibes on the Scout.
This sort of stuff is making me want to take up Paramotoring ... this is crazy but one epic sort of journey with a fan strapped to your back!
Knee- Fi like sci-fi.
Huge props to you for doing and winning this challenge. These are the mountains I fly on the weekly, but I pick and choose and plan everything. You're just busting through it all like a BOSS.
verified with no likes? I'll help with that. Usually people just instantly like verified people's comments! weird.
briansmobile1 a
69th like ;)
Recognized it from Bruno Vassel, Ay I know that one!
Your vids are the first I've ever even heard of paramotoring and this series is still fascinating to watch.
Hey Tucker, I have the Sprinter Van hook up you need. Local to you. Contact me for more info.
Legend has it, he still has the sprinter van hook up
The year is 2020.. And we still don't know if he took you up on that hook up..
Congrats tucker.
knot funny bro
Hey Tucker you're the biggest inspiration here on TH-cam by far man..Safe flying and soft landings always😊😊
