Season 2, Episode 2: Fishing in Lakes that Might Not Contain Any Fish
Host, Mike Wallace takes to the ice on a remote lake in Minnesota. This lake was previously featured in an episode of "Fishing in Lakes that Might Not Contain Any Fish" where we discovered crystal clear waters and tons of northern pike. The goal this time is to spear a couple of those pike to take home for a fish fry using a method known as dark house spearing. How will we do? Stay tuned to find out.

One trick I learned when I’m pike spearing I take a old frying pan and drill holes in it to take the slush out instead of using a shovel and getting all the water in top and it cleans out pretty fast if you have a good size frying pan

After you put your shanty up, shovel some snow on the flaps on the ground outside. You won't believe how much darker it'll be in there.

All we had was frozen slush at the time, you can see the lake covered in a small puddle. There’s near 0 snow on the metro lakes right now, and shoveling slush on the flaps is a big oops

How come you don’t put a hook on the decoy to catch a pike or 2 that way
