Some lakes in Minnesota are known to only hold the surviving lake monsters....I'm originally from the iron range area and it's a fact....the big fish eventually eat most of the small fish in some of the smaller lakes. ( it's always a surprise.)
Would love to see you "put in the work" and see if you can get something. You know there are fish, one bad day and a bit of information makes the next try a bit easier?

"Just gonna assume their might be pike" and "maybe i should figure out if there is pike in the lake first" and acting like you never have fished this lake. This is the exact same lake as S1 E2 where you already caught pike.
Try again with tip ups! Spread them around the lake and find the hot spots. Good Luck!

Even if you didn't catch one, you've established that there are fish in the lake. I'd say that fits the move-on criteria for this series.

Best spearing is very often above thick weeds so I'm not sure why you'd want to avoid that so bad.

We also have abit of winter kill, it can devastate lakes, to shallow and heavy snow fall. Lake runs out of oxygen

Wear some safety glasses when going through the woods, you only have one set of eyes! 😀
maybe try bringing grubs worms to increase your chances of catching a fish

try this one lake called barker lake in maple island MN I have always wondered if there were fish in there.the DNR has not certified it
instead of spearing try tip ups...cover more water..also bring a friend FOR SAFETY..
