    The subtle counter at 7:47 is just 👌 needed to boost the volume to hear the noise and if that was not there... rip ears. Anyway, loving the new vids recently. Keep up the good work!

    I just recently picked up the cheaper Thermal right Frozen Notte 240mm white ARGB and swapped it out with some white Arctic P12's. The temps are absolutely chilly on my 7800x3d. I Really can't believe the price for it either. With the two fans it came in at $68 usd. If the pump holds up for more than 2 years I think it will be money well spent. It would be nice to see you guys run a long term budget AIO test if possible. I know logisitically it would be a pretty tough proposition, but finding out if there is several hidden gems in the under $75usd category would be pretty nice, and good to know. Thanks for doing such a through review on this, keep up the good work.

    Something interesting is my LT720 and LS720 (the 360mm version), their pump noise is nowhere as bad as that LT520. I wonder if that AIO is defective or maybe Deepcool has different pump speeds on the 240mm compared to the 360mm

    That is one comprehensive test. Very glad you have mentioned the noise that pumps are making as I was under impression they should be completely quiet. At least that was one of the reasons I was looking into AIO. I have purchased a Lian Li Galahad II LCD Performance AIO 280mm that has 8th gen Asetek pump. Exactly the same that is used in Asus Ryujin III. The only reason I figured that out is when you played the noise it makes.
    When I first got the unit I thought it was broken because of that sound and I have actually replaced it with completely new one that was making exactly the same noise. I wished I knew that before the purchase ;)

    Thank you for the standardized fan testing. This is usually never tested and it’s a good indicator to see if the fans are holding back or carrying the AIO. Regardless of what AIO I choose for my 360mm I had the plan to put T30/Noctuas on it. Tests like this one would help me choose. Ended up going with a 360mm EKWB Dark and T30s it’s been excellent.

    Absolutely can confirm your comments regarding the mounting of the Kraken. I have one of these mounted on my 7700X and have remounted it repeatedly trying to get decent performance out of it. I finally managed to get reasonable temps out of it, but my experience with this cooler on AMD has me rethinking the whole 240 AIO concept. Now I realize it was simply the wrong cooler for the job. Thanks for pointing out, both here and in your air cooler reviews, that Intel and AMD CPUs have different cooling requirements from a mechanical standpoint.

    I purchased the Thermalright Frozen Notte 360mm cooler last month and I am impressed with its performance. Before installing it, my 5800X3D processor would never cool below 60 degrees Celsius on full load. This cooler is not only inexpensive but also does a great job at keeping the processor cool. However, I am unsure about its durability. Initially, the fans were quite loud, but after making a few adjustments to the fan curve, the noise level has decreased significantly. Kudos Thermalright

    I skipped around so apologies if you mentioned it but mixing the temperature testing and fan normalised testing is really interesting. Depending on the trendline of dba vs C tells you approximately what difference fan replacement makes on noise. If you flip the script and think about temperature normalisation then it tells you a little about how much noise reduction you might expect to see, granted different fans will have different noise profiles.
    If you're open to switching out fans then comparing performance of aios with stock fans may be fairly different to performance for each aio with arctic p12 maxes, so you can't rely on stock fan testing in that instance. Combining the two forms of testing mentioned earlier goes some way to solving that problem
    In some cases changing fans may make barely any difference to noise levels, in others much more. Ie 2, 4 or 7dba. That could dramatically impact what aio best suits your needs if silence is important to you

    Good infomation, though I would've actually liked if you put the Phanteks T30 fans on every other AIO as a normalized test too, because I have my doubts about how much of that AIO's performance is due to the radiator and/or pump being designed specifically for the fans, versus it simply being due to the T30s' status of the best performing 120mm fans on the market.

    • @marcelmathes
      @marcelmathes ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean, they put P12 max on all of them and the only one with no difference was the T30. No need for swapping all of the fans with the t30s

    • @GokieKS
      @GokieKS ปีที่แล้ว

      That single data point doesn't actually tell you anything about whether the Phanteks radiator is designed to work better specifically with the T30 fans. If the delta between the Phanteks radiator and, say, the EK radiator is the same whether they're both using T30s or P12 Maxes, then it means the the radiator design of the Phanteks has nothing to do with being optimized for the T30s.

    Had a Lian Li Galahad 360 that was fairly quiet but over time performance just dropped. Serial number was outside of their recall for known issues but still just got warmer over time. Swapped to a EK Nucleus CR360 Dark and after a week the motor started making loud noise. Did RMA with it and even the replacement was loud. Had to turn down motor to 60% speed to make it quiet. Gave up on liquid cooling and went back to my old Noctua NH-U12A Chromax. No noise, no concerns.

    I'm surprised about the pump noise on the LT 520. I've got an LT 720 and it's basically silent and performs very well. I am on AM4 though (5800X3D). I have EK Basic 240 AIO in another system and that has ridiculous pump noise.

      Don't really need more testing with their air coolers tbh, though they have added new fans recently to their line up which may change performance. Its the AIO that is being overlooked with ThermalRight. I'm more curious about who the OEM is for their AIOs as well.

    Such stellar content friend! Any chance you could do a 2025 update and throw in a few new players? Specifically I'd love to see the latest Msi mag i240, Aurus Waterforce II, EK-Nucleus, CoolerMaster Atmos, and Iceberg IceFLOE Oasis. Seems like these particular AIO's are all so new there's very little in the way of comparison reviews. Lastly, is Ryuo III the same performance as Ryuin III?

    Because of your test, I have a pair of P-140 Max's on the way. I have the stock p-14s in my Arctic Freezer II 280. Cheap upgrade to the Artic Freezer II 280 for a 3c, maybe even a 4c drop in temps. 👍
    The price of the Thermalright Frozen Edge ($46.00 on Amazon) is so cheap it scares me. But it seems to work great by those who've been reporting in the comments.

    I wonder though if the Phanteks performs very well because of the fans, I would absolutely LOVE to see another roundup of the best performing AIO based off of the AIO itself using the same fans to see which one actually performs the best, I'm someone who likes to have optimized hardware, so the best fans with the best AIO would be amazing!

    Just bought the LT520.. I can't hear the pump at all at it's max speed, though I don't have the fancy cover fitted. I like how small the pump block is without the silly cover, this is one of the best and most compatible 240mm AIO's on the market right now, highly recommend it for people looking to use the dan A4 H2O.

      According tò his charts, we must look at the temperature at the highest DB, which Is the best temperature each aio can reach at their max Speed, right? Considering this, LT520 almost wins everywhere together with ryujin III and ekwb nucleus (i exclude Artic and Phanteks because they are to big). So what would you put for best temperature at fullest Speed among nucleus, ryujin and lt520?
