Just got a new deep cool! It was "cheap" compared to my old Nzxt, but it looks great. The old one was only 4 years old, but had to give up because I couldn't get the AM5 adapter in Canada without very high shipping costs from Nzxt direct plus duty. At that price, I decided to go for the new unit. But of course it cost me... Because I was using all 140mm RGB fans and had to get 120mm now. Yeesh.
Jay.. I have a H100 that was bought and installed in 2015..used it till 2016 then that tower has been in storage for 8 years .. Should I even attempt to fire up the computer and risk leakage or just replace it? Same question for the motherboard battery ... Hope your health improves and you keep doing what you love 😎
I have a Fractal Design Celsius S36 as my first AIO and it seems to be fine for the workloads I use it for, sure there are better AIOs out there though.
"Wobbly stickers bothers us" Well now I really would want to sneak in there and replace every sticker on a fan with one that's really off center... I can imagine the call to the police. "You say you had a break-in, and nothing was stolen and there were nothing destroyed?" "No, every fan was destroyed! The stickers are wobbly on everyone of them now!"
Do you think you could build a custom loop that would perform measurably better for say.. double the budget? CPU only, preferably hard tubing to get some of the aesthetic qualities custom loops are prized for, using a similarly sized radiator and fans?
So I have a AM 4 system and I was looking for an AIO that had the back plate and the four hold down screws so I did not have to use the stupid clips. So I went with the NZXT kraken 240 and I think I paid $130 for it. Tell the downside to it is you have to use the NZXT software. The overall pretty damn happy with it!
honest opinion and experience i have never had an AIO that that has performed well iv had both Fractal's and Corsairs one was a 240mm and the other was a 360mm aio and neither performed as well as Noctua's Air coolers even the Redux single tower cooler performs better on my 9900k and the NH-D15 i have for my 7900x-3D.
This is why i run air coolers. I don't have to worry about pump failures, leaks, or clogs. Worst case scenario, i replace a fan once in a while and it'll clearly stand out when it does start to fail.
I use both air coolers, AIOs and custom loop. Been using AIOs for years now, more than a few different brands/models, and i've only experienced one pump failure. It wasn't even in my own PC, it was in my brother-in-law's PC. He insisted on getting an NZXT M22, which was known for being problematic. Warned him that it was a gamble but he still wanted it. He is currently using my oldest AIO, from 2018 and it still works fine. Air coolers definitely have better longevity and are much simpler, so i get why many people stick with it. Recently bought the Arctic Freezer 36 ARGB, the one with 2 rgb fans, for a $30-ish introduction price and it's absolutely awesome.
Great video!! Could you do a Q&A or FAQ video on water cooling? With the newer products out there, and higher temps generated by the components, there might be more information to viewers not previously gone over.. Thanks for all you do !!
With the loss of DeepCool's products, it is nice to have another option. I think I bought the last Assassin IV from B&H 12 hours after the State Department announcement.
Worried how long it lasts. That's the ONLY thing stopping me from buying this... Considering my air cooled PC is over 6 years old and still running strong...
I've been running open loops for over 15 years now. I love the look of them and up until now the performance has been outstanding. The thing is that the newest generation of hardware dumps so much heat into the system it's insane. Part of it may be my motherboard just pushing the cpu too much, stupid Asus. Then of course the 7900XTX isn't a low wattage part either. Not to mention that this is the first time that I've seen a waterblock designed for both the flagship card and the next card down from it. The block doesn't connect to all the points that I expected it to. Probably what I get for passing on EK's block.
Well, not everyone has issues with 14th gen, have mine now a couple of months and still stable, did the PL limits since day one as I do with all my intel processors since, like 7th gen. And I'm not using a contact frame (yet) running stock thermal paste that came with the h170i. So yea will see how long the 14th gen will stay stable for me coz the r9 5950x was horse shit that's why I moved back to intel. But it's highly unlikely that I'll stay with Intel as there's rumors that hyperthreading will be removed, so will see if AMD is actually going to be better
@@Luckdragon2000 That's just it; The fact he went higher up the stack to a split CCD solution is part of where his problems came in. The 8 using just a single one, with all 3D vcache doesn't see some of the issues that the multi CCD, half vcache half not arrangement for the 9 and 950X3D skus introduces some weirdness, and can honestly perform worse in some cases. Haven't watched the full video yet, but I mean if you're wanting to see how well something can handle a silly amount of heat, intel does seem like the horse to bet on.
Interested to see a follow up on this after 12 and 18 months, since while these Apaltek units tend to be great at first...from doing repair, I've seen many of these fail before their 2 year mark.
I have an older Corsair 240, and it's finally showing a rise in temp, replaced the paste and the rad is above the pump, pump is going as I can feel/hear it, so I'm guessing it's suffering from the junk in cold plate.. ohh I did rock the system around while on incase there was an air bubble.. so I've been looking at replacements by going to a 360, for my 5900X. My limitation is I really want it to be white..
The biggest thing for me now when buying an AIO is are the tubes on the block within the mounting bracket perimeter. If they go past, I will not buy it because of compatibility issues with my MSI ITX board.
for my new z690 build with a 12600kf i bought a Arctic Liquid Freezer mk3 240 installed with push config in the front of my Phanteks p400. it's dead silent and the i5 inGame stays between 44-50 Celsius. for a bigger sku i would go with a 360 or better 420 AiO. for my Phanteks p400 the maximum is 360 i think.
i've had a few aio in the last decade and they pretty much all failed on me. a couple corsair ones and an arctic freezer. i do have a corsair 120mm that still works but i have long since switched back to air cooling. i like air cooling because nothing can really go wrong. and if a fan dies its super easy to put a new one on.
Hello, I like these kind of tests. I also suggest to check this AiO: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360 - currently on amazon below £90 (even less in $ I think).
How loud is the pump? I just got another AIO that was only $99 on amazon but I have to return it because the pump is so loud. Which kind of sucks because it was different and that is why I liked it. The pump was also another fan (like an 80mm). It is the ID-COOLING DASHFLOW 360 XT LITE and this video came out at the perfect time while looking for another one.
Forgive my ignorance, but does the fluid just come into the radiator through one tube, then straight out the other tube, without the tubes going through the radiators? At about the 7 minute mark, Jay holds the radiator and you could see the desk through it. I always assumed the tubing goes through the fins to increase transfer area...
Jay the heck with saving money on coolers, what do you think of the Sub-zero Phase Change Cooling PC Build. Did you ever make a video about these, it might be fun....

A video I would love to see is the cheapest custom loop Jayztwocents would actually buy in 2024, an alternative to this AIO that also has the advantage of upgrading to add in a GPU block to the loop later on
Agreed. I would also like to see what parts he would use.
I would love that video too.
I'm with J on the clips, I won't use any coolers that use the clips, either mount to the Backplate or I will find another cooler that does and get that. I'm rocking an Artic Freezer 3 with Offset Mount.
Yeesh.
try endorfy navis 360 and 240 (very popular in europe)
Enermax, IDCooling and Thermalright just to list a few, have sub $90 360mm aio’s.
That's great value... I am up to my third Galahad II Trinity performance due to pump issues... So more money didn't mean better quality for me.
I live in NORTHERN CANADA and its 33celcius or 92f today!
Climate tax isn't helping?
I got the MSI Coreliquid m360 for the equivalent of 55usd and it comes with 3 RGB fans and RGB water block lighting
If you're like me and use applications that are real CPU cookers, good AIOs are a godsend.
I think I just had a massive result picked up a Corsair h170i link RGB brand new £150 waiting for it to be delivered tomorrow.
I have a Fractal Design Celsius S36 as my first AIO and it seems to be fine for the workloads I use it for, sure there are better AIOs out there though.
Anecdotal but I had to replace my ibuypower prebuilt’s AIO less than a year after I purchased it. Got a lian li cooler and have been fine since
your work is not only informative but also visually stunning!
Jay, why do you use HWmonitor? HWinfo 64 is much more reliable? Just curious
"Wobbly stickers bothers us" Well now I really would want to sneak in there and replace every sticker on a fan with one that's really off center...
I can imagine the call to the police. "You say you had a break-in, and nothing was stolen and there were nothing destroyed?"
"No, every fan was destroyed! The stickers are wobbly on everyone of them now!"
How long do these things last?
What happens when it stops working?
What do you do when it stops workin? Just buy a new one? or Do you repair it?
Do you think you could build a custom loop that would perform measurably better for say.. double the budget? CPU only, preferably hard tubing to get some of the aesthetic qualities custom loops are prized for, using a similarly sized radiator and fans?
@3:47
Jayz Two Cents Fan Hub Stickers.
You, Linus, Steve, Wendell, Paul, Kyle, ect... all should make them 🤜🤛🏾
So I have a AM 4 system and I was looking for an AIO that had the back plate and the four hold down screws so I did not have to use the stupid clips.
I go deep cool personally because of the anti leak tech which works soooooo good also competitive high quality
Thermalright and Arctic should be the AIOs you use to judge if an alternative is a better fit.
The UK doesn't get hot it just rains and get uncomfertably humid :D
what's the most building materials u use there? wood?
@@infnofreedom houses: concrete block and brick, or timber frame, brick or block exterior
For now.
Run star citizen that will run all your cores :D, Thank you Jay as always you give great advice
Great video!! Could you do a Q&A or FAQ video on water cooling? With the newer products out there, and higher temps generated by the components, there might be more information to viewers not previously gone over.. Thanks for all you do !!
I would love to know the general expected liftiitme of AIOs. Considering lack of reparabily, How many years can I put it into use???
Review the Tryx Panarama AIO! That’s the one to get!! 3d for all no glasses!!
With all the stability issues with the 13 and 14 series Intel processors, why not start testing more AMD processors?
Because he made a video regretting his AMD 7900x3d pc and he switched to the pos 14900k .
@@potatorigs2155 , I'm still rocking my 5800X3D, and I feel Jay didn't give the 7800X3D a fare shake before going to an inferior Intel CPU.
@@Luckdragon2000 Because AMD screams minimum wage.
Its hard for any cpu cooler right now the best choice is to buy an equivalent Thermalright cooler to get the same temps for 40 percent of the cost
You should also check out the redragon coolers and such, the one i have works great.
What keyboard is that looks pretty slick
The biggest thing for me now when buying an AIO is are the tubes on the block within the mounting bracket perimeter. If they go past, I will not buy it because of compatibility issues with my MSI ITX board.
in argentina is so cold rn, that you can keep cool a 1390k with the stock c ooler
for my new z690 build with a 12600kf i bought a Arctic Liquid Freezer mk3 240 installed with push config in the front of my Phanteks p400. it's dead silent and the i5 inGame stays between 44-50 Celsius. for a bigger sku i would go with a 360 or better 420 AiO. for my Phanteks p400 the maximum is 360 i think.
Good luck with that 13900k. You're gonna need it. Oy!
i've had a few aio in the last decade and they pretty much all failed on me. a couple corsair ones and an arctic freezer. i do have a corsair 120mm that still works but i have long since switched back to air cooling. i like air cooling because nothing can really go wrong. and if a fan dies its super easy to put a new one on.
The introductory price of $98 for the LF3 420mm when it launched was amazing. Now back to regular pricing, not so good.
would've like to see a run with kpx or a different paste to compare what comes on the cooler still all in all good vid👍
Thanks for the video Jay!
13:53 - "You will give 110%. That's impossible, no one can give more than 100%. By definition, that's the most anyone can give."
Jay the heck with saving money on coolers, what do you think of the Sub-zero Phase Change Cooling PC Build. Did you ever make a video about these, it might be fun....

impressed with those fans considering how close you sit they were virtually silent
Hey Jay, I finally got a chance to try The Dalmore 12, omg so damn good. It took me this long to try it, but it is well worth the wait!
Damn that pump rpm is fast. My new corsair is topped off at 2600 and change.
