Mind blown, this is absolutely unreal, you literally rubbed shoulders with the GOAT!! absolutely brilliant filming as well from you and Eric, captured that session brilliantly!
being able to share the track & training with the very top World Elite Athletes in such casual way, yet those guys don't display any ego, quite ok to share the training with whoever is able to keep up with them.... AWESOME video
@@TheWelshRunner Hope I did not miss it from the video, but did you cover the performance benefits and your hemoglobin stats before and after training at high altitude? Would be gr8 to hear about that aspect.
Oh wow! “I got passed by Kipchoge.” What a legend. That’s such an awesome experience. You’ve had such a valuable experience over there and shared it with us beautifully. Well done. Thank you. Can’t wait for the Q and A.
Yeah that was my fastest rep and a little too quick but once I was on the back I didn’t want to drop. You you don’t get the opportunity very often to say you matched Kipchoge on the track even if it was only 400m.
Imagine 2 or 3 years ago thinking you'd be running around the track in Eldoret with Kipchoge.....pretty unimaginable really - something you will never forget!
How fantastic!! You got to truly see just how fast they run. Always looks so effortless. I’d be interested know how it feels to run at altitude and how much of an impact it’s had on you now you’re back in the UK. I know you’ve had covid so maybe you weren’t able to see the positive results immediately.
Thanks. Altitude is such a strange feeling but I loved it. Everything felt harder. It’s hard to put a number on it because the routes were so hilly too. I chose 400m reps for the track because I knew I would fare better than longer reps. I think training at altitude can have a huge impact but you have to stay for longer than a week. I think I will have had a small benefit but it’s hard to know especially as you say I then got Covid. I loved altitude for the fact I could run slower for a good aerobic benefit.
Must be another bucket list moment ticked off...#Train with Kipchoge 🏃😀💪👍 What an incredible experience for any runner, & they certainly seem to look after you.
If your experience does demonstrate that hard work pays off in the end, nothing will. You looked like a boy in a sweet shop. Great job/ I'm not jealous. Much........
Matt really loving the videos from Kenya, must admit I binged on them after returning from 10 days in the forests of Canada. Would really like to know more about the mental side of their training and what they do when it gets tough ? You look in your element out there and look like you are really enjoying the experience, thanks for sharing 👏
Wow! What an amazing experience! Well done on the quick track reps. I'm amazed at how many runners are out there putting in the work. I know I've NEVER seen my local track that busy. haha!
Thanks Chad. It was incredible experience being at the track surrounded by some of the best runners in the World. There’s very few sports where you can train at the same venue as the World’s best at the same time as them.
Amazing inspiration to run in the same track and at the same time of the GOAT… will make you run faster for sure, even though no other human can run faster than Eliud at the Marathon, great experience and thanks for sharing mate!
Good one Matt. Last time I stopped my track session mid way was to change shoes LOL or because some youth was making off with my bag. I prefer your reason :)
Hallo Welsh runner this is a bit awsome. You seemed very more relaxed and joyfull than ever i Kenya. You liked it a lot. Congrats for this videos from Africa. CIncerely Inga Dk.
Awesome video, and amazing experience! I was wondering, is this Kenya experience something you can book, like a running camp/holiday/on site seminair? Thnx in advance :D
Hi Tim, I hope you don't mind us jumping in on this one. We organise the Kenya Experience camp which Matt was part of. Yes, it is exactly as you say, it's a training camp/holiday for runners of all levels and we arrange all the running, seminars & other non-running training (gym, drills etc) plus other activities like meeting with local athletes etc. The link to our website is in Matt's description of this video. Please feel to reach out to us if you would like any further information.
Hey Tim. Running Trips has pretty much summed it up in their reply. It’s a training camp for normal runners. I loved it. I got to experience the amazing running culture of Kenya whilst also forming a close group with the other runners on the trip. If you want more information then feel free to ask any questions or on www.runningtrips.co.uk/
Mind blown, this is absolutely unreal, you literally rubbed shoulders with the GOAT!! absolutely brilliant filming as well from you and Eric, captured that session brilliantly!
Why do Kipchoke look 90 years old?
@@jawant6039he's actually old
Extremely low body fat %
I can see there everyone shows their respect to Kipchoge and he is also friendly to take photo with people. Good luck sir. Enjoy the videos you made.
Kipchoge is such a gentleman. Very humble and generous with his time. A great ambassador of the sport.
other running TH-camrs: look what I ate today
Matt: track session with Kipchoge
🤣 but can I back it up 🤷🏻♂️
😂😂
Bahahaha 🤣🤣
😆😆
Wooooh , I like how this video turned from "Running the track " to meeting "Kipchoge"..... THE G.O.A.T
Thanks. It was a surreal experience but amazing too.
OMG, a day to remember. I cannot imagine just how inspirational it must have been to see Eliud in the flesh and then meet him!
being able to share the track & training with the very top World Elite Athletes in such casual way, yet those guys don't display any ego, quite ok to share the training with whoever is able to keep up with them.... AWESOME video
How amazing is that. Running on the same track as Kipchoge. And him being humble enough to take pics with everyone. Fab video Matt.
Good for you mate! How simple things are in Kenya, it's astonishing. The stadium is really like a forge of champions.
Thanks. Simple but effective 👍👊

This video must be the cherry on top for your Kenyan running Experience!!!!
wow what a fantastic experience and what a gentleman Kipchoge is. Such a great ambassador for the sport.
He really is. Such a fantastic athlete but so humble and inspiring too.
Such a humble guy and true legend of the sport !
Awesome experience Matt. I love 20-25x400 after 5x6:00 in morning. Ingebrigtsen style.
I did this session harder than an Ingebrigtsen style 25x400m but I also love the double threshold type sessions that the Ingebrigtsens use.
The home of the champions, lovely.
Incredible. I’m smiling cheesily through the video and I wasn’t the one there. Great that you shared a lap with Eliud. What a day.
Wow! That is a seriously special moment and one to tell the grandchildren about. So pleased for you and also very envious!
😂 Damn, I am jealous now.
Running a lap with Kipchoge is epic. 🥰
My adrenaline would have been through the roof, totally pumped. 😂
Nice work man!
A thing of beauty to watch the Kenyan running form
It truly is. Some of the athletes seem to float around the track.
Wow ! What a privilege to run with all those wonderful athletes. Fantastic series of videos Matt - thank you for such a brilliant insight😃
Thanks Claire. It’s great to hear you are enjoying the series. Thanks for watching and I hope you’re well.
Loved this series, and loving the channel. Glad I found it 👍 thanks Matt
Awesome, thank you! Glad you enjoyed the Kenya series. It is a special place.

so happy to see you with the goat. keep on running!
Amazing content Matt! Loving the series
Latching onto the back of the training group with Kipchoge for your 400m was very cool!

That was awesome that you did a whole Lap with Kipchoge. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks. I never expected to run a lap with Kipchoge but it was an amazing experience and very surreal.
@@TheWelshRunner I bet it was and you’ll always have a cool story and video of running with the goat.
That’s a nice one. Thanks for sharing this experience. Great to see Kipchoge in training mode.
Unbelievable experience for you Matt! Absolutely loved that. Running intervals with Kipchoge...awesome!
Great series so far - I’m sure this vlog & series will get a massive viewing and quite rightly so!

Great memories to get you through the hard miles!
Absolutely. Definitely something to draw on.
Thank you. Love it

Noticed that Kipchoge rests on Sunday. 🙂👍. I like that . A lot of runners go 7 days a week…. Sets them up for injury ( my opinion).
Crazy to meet Kosgei and Kipchoge within about 5 days 😂
Ethopian Legendry Athlete Kenenisa bekele??? 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡⚡️
I’m not sure what the question is? But yes I agree that Bekele is a running legend.
Thanks that was inspiring!
Just WOW!
That’s what I was thinking when I saw Kipchoge on the track.
you should visit Uganda too.
I would love to. It looks amazing. Jake Smith an GB elite runner who has recently joined the NN Running Team is out training in Uganda right now.
So amazing. What an experience! Something you’ll never forget, no doubt. Basically best mates now… 😂😂

Muy humilde el hecho de poder entrenar con kipchoge, si quisiera el, podria cerrar la pista para entrenar con su equipo, pero no.
IS you want to be the best you work like that best💪🔥❤
Amazing 🤩 Awwsome ✊🏾🤩
What I would give to run some reps with kipchoge!
That’s good stuff!
Thank you 👍
Hey, sir. How was feeling running behind the Laban Korir😮😮🎉🎉
Love you brother 💐🌹💐🇮🇳🙏 from india 🌸
Thanks 👍
Top de mais...parabéns do brazil
How big is it track? Why does it look more than 400 m? Spikes?
Yeah 400m. Some runners wore spikes but for training most runners were wearing running shoes.
How many km does kipchoge run every day...
I don’t know Kipchoge’s exact plan but from what I understand it would be 25-30km a day with rest on Sunday.
@@TheWelshRunner ohh man ,🥶🤯
