When you said apple bananas I thought of the zoey 101 episode were Quinn tries to create her own fruit called a banapple. Lol you probably have no idea what I'm talking about😂😂❤️
You can also get freeze dried durian at Asian markets. it's 100% pure and ready to eat. a bit more affordable as a durian last time I bought in the UK 6-7 years ago was £30. maybe they are £50 now for a medium size!
I love durian too. Its one of my favorite fruits of all time, and I know many many exotic fruits. The ones you named and more. How about Lychee, longan, mangosteen, sapota, tamarind, thai banana, bruno banana, and of course apple banana.
This is my first year is SO many years I am not in Ubud at the moment and I am beyond devastated I cannot be there and meet you! Wish I was hanging out with you and Ben - he's a raw wizard
Thanks for sharing your experience in Bali and most of all, your love for life and your love for your neighbors well being. You're a sister to me, my family. I love you from McAllen! : )
I'm so interested to try/smell durian. From what I hear people either absolutely love it, or are absolutely repulsed by it (like throwing up running away repulsed).
Kristan L I haven't tasted one yet but it smells like cat pee LOL not even exaggerating. My cat use to pee on my bed and that's what it would smell like when my mom opened one up
Lovia Konopasek hahahahaha it's so hit or miss with people!! It cracks me up the way people describe how horrible it tastes, but makes me so much more intrigued!!
I know! Thats why I am actually scared to try it cause I hear it smells so bad :D but on the other hand..I really want to try it cause so many vegan you tubers seem to love it ;)
Bilgah Moka HAHAHA that's fantastic!!!! 😂😂😂 best description I've ever heard!! Still, makes me even more intrigued to try it. I need to learn for myself, the hard way I guess
Like apples, there are many varieties of durian. In Thailand, they really know how to serve it; as they serve it on a bed of sweet sticky rice and pour a coconut cream over it. For me it is "roll my eyes back" good!! It is the one thing I look forward to (at the food courts) when I return to Bangkok.
Looks good, wish they weren't so pricey here. What a treat to get it fresh off the tree. Glad you finally made it to Bali, saw another one of your videos where they made to return to the States bc your passport was 6 months from expiration? What an ordeal... over basically nothing!
I would love to try this! If I ever get to go to Bali or anywhere close to there I will have to find and try one of these fruits fresh like this... I'm sure that they're better when ripe and fresh like this vs. frozen from a grocery store or "Asian market"... I don't even have one of those where I live, as far as I know...
It's rare to see westener who likes durian. The smell and texture is hard core. Oh and BTW, durian contains alcohol (small amount) so eat too much ripe durian you can get drunk.
I heard so much negative comments about durian it's cool that you like it. I haven't had it yet myself, but I haven't found it in any of my Asian markets. OH THE FROZEN SECTION! I was looking in the fresh fruit area.
When I brought a durian back on the train from London I realised why it's not allowed on planes xD the smell is so strong!!!! I kiiiiiiiinda liked it a bit so I think I could become a fan in time ;)
I'm in Houston. Lots of Viet Namese markets that sell durian and other S. E. Asian fruit. Fresh durian is out of my price range. But frozen Thai durians are more affordable. My Lienchau's father used to have a fruit farm near Saigon. She likes mangosteen better. She taught me to get a durian mostly brown but with just a little green left on it, and the split you showed. Soursops are $15 per pound here!
In my country what u call apple bananas we call them guineo niño and belive me the ones you got they over rip...we also have the guanabana so good..GOOD memories of my country.
Kristina, did you find out if you needed additional doses of the rabies shot? Because in the past, one had to take multiple shots over several days. Please try to make sure before you leave, if possible contact the doctor again and find out if you need follow up shots. It's possible it's some newer vaccine that requires just one dose, but it's important to get that information.
So is this one of those things like cilantro? Some people find it horrid and others don't? Serious question, because custard vs crusty butthole...you can see the confusion
If you've tried frozen durian and didn't like it, is there any chance you'd like it fresh? Is there a flavor difference? To me it tastes like a cross between a banana, tahini and maybe some garlic thrown in. It is definitely an acquired taste.
In MS in my home town, I saw that funny fruit in Kroger and didn't know what the heck it was. I might just go buy it and give it a try. Hope you recovered from the bite and feeling better.
Looks yummy! Does Bali have any other interesting fruits? I've been vegetarian for almost 2 years..slowly converting into veganism and been watching your videos every day for some inspiration! Wanting to be mostly raw because my face breaks out often so I'm curious how being raw would affect it, hoping to get there one day! Thanks for sharing your life adventures
Thanks, looks tasty. I've told a few Uber passengers about the Cronometer, Fully Raw Kristina and other health ministry things amf farming relatives about the pounds of fruit per acre. I guess I'll send out heorloom organic seeds for the holidays.
Doesn't the durian taste like onion ice cream? I literally just bought my first one this week and could barely eat it because the smell was so garlicky and I'm not sure if that's what should be expected or if it wasn't ripe maybe?? I really wanted to like it and the taste itself wasn't that bad but I couldn't force myself to get over the smell):
I've never seen an orange durian here in the US..just wondering why you didn't get an orange one since you mentioned those were the ones that were ripe and good.
Durian is definitely a love it or hate it fruit. While in Asia, I tried it. I can't argue that it's strong, but I liked it. It's so unique, but again, it's not for everyone. Just don't knock it til you've tried it.
Hello Gorgeous, Wondering when you said Frozen Section for Durian -Is it used to keep cold or is it Frozen completely. Hello to Noel, haven't seen her since GB In NYC. Safe Trip, Keep these wonderful videos coming, love the tempo, We are enjoying the raw food you showcase, Can you post a list of the restaurants you love the most, Thanks,,,PEACE & EVERDREAMS #everdreamtattoos
Hey Kristina :) first of all I'd really like to say that I absolutely love your videos, so keep up the good work :) But I do have a question however... I enjoy eating lots and lots of raw foods in the summer, but now during the colder months (Germany) I am having trouble incorporating raw fruits and veggies in my diet. Do you have any tips on eating (more) raw food in colder climates?
Hey sis! Peace an blessings upon u! Thank you for this video :) I'm happy your happy an enjoying the fresh local treats, may I ask, what were the. Down fruit in the truck. They looked like small ball like clusters? Anywho I love you an enjoy your journey An growthPeace
Durian is my favorite fruit.I have affection for durians : -) Very delicious durians in the Philippines, during a season of durians. The most delicious variety called Aransilyo, as well as super delicious variety Puyat Premium.
Hi Kristina! Welcome to Asia. We have lots of Durians, Dragonfruits and Soursop in Singapore. I prefer the purple dragonfruit, not the white one, and I usually eat it with yoghurt. Durians come in different grades here, hence the different prices. Many are also made into cakes and traditional delicacies. The durians I saw in Australia was so not fresh at all, they look so dark. Don't eat too much durians as it is heaty n you can get sick(fever). We, Malays, call the soursop, 'durian belanda', meaning Dutch Durian.....don't know why. Ok, Have fun trying!
Jahnes love Kristina. I love the sweet and creamy taste of the Durian fruit. But, when I ate a lot of it, I got really nauseous! And the manager at the Naturalia where I buy organic food in Paris, who is from Thailand told me that Durian is rich in fats and makes the liver work hard to digest. Can you please explain that? You don't make recipes with Durian either. Blessed love.
it's love it or hate it kind of fruit, mostly because of the smell that someone think it's stink but those who like it will think it smell so good. In Thailand, we actually give it a name of King of Fruit. The taste is actually sweet. Those who can eat durian will feel like what Kristina eat the first bite awwww so goooooooood. Pity for those who can't eat it though.
I found out about the vegan lifestyle over 1 year ago. Ever since then, I completely stopped eating meat and been slowly taking away my dairy intake. But now whenever I get up, I get extremely dizzy. I looked it up and it said it's something wrong with my blood pressure. I'm only 16 years old so I really don't have an idea. Because with the meat I don't eat, and less dairy, wouldn't I feel better ?
I think Julia is in love with Kristina. She looks at her with such love and like she could just eat her up....(and not just this video but all the videos since they have been in Bali)
Some people love the smell some people hate it. It honestly just smells sweet to me. Its like my favorite thing in the world when you find a good ripe one.
Maybe I've gotten bad durian? it tastes like old, overripe bananas on the first bite, then it starts to get unpleasantly bitter the more I eat it. Plus it's sticky like tar, it won't come off my fingers, with just soap and water. Have I gotten duds?
Ruthlyss Targaryen you'll either love it or hate it lol just like I cannot stand cilantro but other people adore it... not really an in between with those two.
Why don't I like durian. I tried it one time in the Philippines. Too scared to try again lol. Did I get a bad one, or bad piece?! 😂 It was really bad, I had to spit it out, but all the locals loved it
Andres Sierra it depends on your skin type. for some people it won't, for some it will. it breaks me out. but I know it works really well for a lot of people. try it for yourself. it you look up comedogenic oil scale, it will tell you what oils are most, and least likely to clog your pores. it's helped me a lot.
Andres Sierra for me it really helps my skin. ive practically cured my keratosis pilaris and the eczema on my hands has dramatically imrpoved...however I know some people do say it breaks them out. i only ever use it in the shower, like a shower gel. just rub a tiny bit over your face and body and then let the water wash the excess off. otherwise youre left with a goopy mess that takes forever to soak into your skin. its antibacterial as well, so has actually reduced any spots that occur for me...but im not usually spot prone and have normal to dry skin. if youre oily, maybe it wont work. its a great body moinsturiser too though!
Everything about this fruit looks delicious. The texture 😍
When you said apple bananas I thought of the zoey 101 episode were Quinn tries to create her own fruit called a banapple. Lol you probably have no idea what I'm talking about😂😂❤️
OMG that show was the bessst. I was so sad when they cancelled it!
Sophia Miller lmao I used to love that show
Sophia Miller best Nickelodeon show ever
i loved zoey 101

FYI: never buy durians when the bottom cracks open. It's not the fresh one and taste not good.
PS: indonesians also call it "duren"
I have heard many things about this fruit...BUT..I will now have to give it a try! The Dragon fruit looks amazing..I love the color!
This is my first year is SO many years I am not in Ubud at the moment and I am beyond devastated I cannot be there and meet you! Wish I was hanging out with you and Ben - he's a raw wizard

Riza hariati I'm Canadian & I love it!! But I was with Chinese people that introduced it to me so maybe that's why I'm not clueless haha
Sarah Wald Wow, then you are hardcore too! ^_^
Sarah, i am Canadian as well.. where did you find Durian?
Riza hariati so is it Haram ?
Soukaina No it's not. It's not in the khamr category.
I heard so much negative comments about durian it's cool that you like it. I haven't had it yet myself, but I haven't found it in any of my Asian markets. OH THE FROZEN SECTION! I was looking in the fresh fruit area.

In my country what u call apple bananas we call them guineo niño and belive me the ones you got they over rip...we also have the guanabana so good..GOOD memories of my country.
You HAVE to try Mangosteen while you're in Bali! They're so so good there
You are the cutest and love your travel vlogs so much!!!
Ivanka Smirnoff Very gorgeous lady. Glad she's plant-based like me👏👍✊🌱☺
The smile on that girl with glasses on her head. Priceless!

P.S. Perth is a 3.5 hour flight away if you want to make it to Australia afterwards :D
I have seen some amazing nice cream recipes with durian! Yum! 💖
Katelyn O. "Nice cream"? What's that?
Juice that's what vegan ice cream is popularly called ☺ Megan Elizabeth has a recipe on her channel for one with durian that is so good!
Thank you for your tutorial had brought a durian , was confused as how to find out it ripe , your tutorial really helped
If you've tried frozen durian and didn't like it, is there any chance you'd like it fresh? Is there a flavor difference? To me it tastes like a cross between a banana, tahini and maybe some garlic thrown in. It is definitely an acquired taste.

you didnt buy the snakefruit on that truckstall? have you tried it or you didnt like it?
I love durian, but I've yet to try one fresh. Only tried the frozen durian.
I've had only frozen Durian a few times...I used to make Durian Kefir with it...I think I blended Durian and water and added probiotic to it...
I think being raw would help it out a lot. we do a lot of raw recipes on our vegan channel if you want to check it out.
I'm going to Bali in a month and really want to try some fresh durian!
Durian! I am craving it so bad lately! Its been months! So jealous! Beautiful video!

I love durians! Thanks for the tips. 🌺 💚 🍓
awesome Kristina. how is the balinaise Durian compared to the Asian? I uploaded a vid on Durian in Thailand and Malaysia. check it out.
Doesn't the durian taste like onion ice cream? I really wanted to like it and the taste itself wasn't that bad but I couldn't force myself to get over the smell):
Question. U said when it's orange it indicates that it's ripe so why did u buy a green durian? I'm just curious. Thanks!
Looks so delicious!! 😋 I hope you are feeling much better! Love you ❤✨
I've never seen an orange durian here in the US..just wondering why you didn't get an orange one since you mentioned those were the ones that were ripe and good.

At around the 1:00 mark, what's the big green fruit in the back left? It looks like a massive cherimoya😂
soursop but we call it sirsak here in Indonesia
Thanks!

there is indomart, is it in indonesia?..
durain. a nice reward after a few tough days.
Kristina, you should get some mangosteen to counteract the "heatiness" of the durian.
Durian is my favorite fruit.I have affection for durians : -)
Very delicious durians in the Philippines, during a season of durians. The most delicious variety called Aransilyo, as well as super delicious variety Puyat Premium.
I love Durian so much

Hey Kristina, do we get it here in the states? I've never seen them.... nor have I seen or eaten fresh figs here in Kentucky! sad face! lol
I love love love durian! it's the best
The cancer fighting fruit you mentioned can you tell me the name??
it's actually very sweet with a very particular smell, it takes few tries to love it. 😀
it's love it or hate it kind of fruit, mostly because of the smell that someone think it's stink but those who like it will think it smell so good. In Thailand, we actually give it a name of King of Fruit. The taste is actually sweet. Those who can eat durian will feel like what Kristina eat the first bite awwww so goooooooood. Pity for those who can't eat it though.
iam eating durian right now. love the stuff. tastes like sweet onions
I found out about the vegan lifestyle over 1 year ago. Ever since then, I completely stopped eating meat and been slowly taking away my dairy intake. But now whenever I get up, I get extremely dizzy. Bianca Lg ur iron is probably just low. If ur gonna not eat meat make sure u get enough iron and protein from other sources
oh durian!!! i love it. we have a lot here in Philippines.😊
Did they give you the fruit that wasn't yellow and cracked open?
Sarah Kobunski Looks like a pineapple. But I hear it smells like cat urine, lol.
wowww i love durian too... best fruit ever...
I think Julia is in love with Kristina. She looks at her with such love and like she could just eat her up....(and not just this video but all the videos since they have been in Bali)
lol.. the expression on your friends faces its like they are from mars.. " what is this strangeness "? lolol
That looks so good! I tried dragonfruit and it didn't really taste like anything. It's a really pretty fruit though.
agree
Durian is known for its foul smell. I love sour sop ,especially when its juiced, it's so thick and creamy .
DJ Barakas Wow! That doesn't sound too appetizing. She's so gorgeous😍
Ruthlyss Targaryen you'll either love it or hate it lol just like I cannot stand cilantro but other people adore it... not really an in between with those two.
can you open up the other fruit and show us?
I havent had the opporunity to try this fruit, but I will...
Why don't I like durian. I tried it one time in the Philippines. Too scared to try again lol. Did I get a bad one, or bad piece?! 😂 It was really bad, I had to spit it out, but all the locals loved it
Yumm the green fruit you've showed before the durian is really good it's actually known to be a "cancer fighter" eat FRUIT guys and be safe
Do you think applying coconut oil clogs pores?
Andres Sierra coconut oil will not clog ur pores.

Do you think olive oil might be better?
I need to try fresh durian because the frozen stuff I get here is terrible. It's like onions stuffed in sweaty socks.
