@@YongLi-np3wg This is the chinese market we are talking about and they sell hundreds of thousands cars alone. They update with new models and new tech much faster. Some of these models are not in production yet and some are concepts. They swap out old models with new ones much faster and will eventually settle with like 100 models I think

We love the EV's from BYD, but we will wait for a more "fun and sporty" 2-door version. Something that is more fitting for the single and duo households . . . . .65% of the western population.
The last 60 years we never needed 4-doors to get in a car. 4-doors make it longer, cost more material, make the car more heavy, give less range and make most EV's boring and ugly.
That Ocean-M looks good, nice "hot hatch" but is just a concept, and still 2 doors to much.
The other interesting EV's that were "sporty" or pleasing to my eyes, were all concepts.

I don't quite understand how the BYD's premium brands are positioned, it's kinda confusing
They have three premium brands. Denza which has N7, D9 and Z9. 40l to 70k usually.
Feng Chang Bao has two models right now, I think. It's from 50k to 90k.
Yangwang has U7, U8 and U9. They all start from at least 150k.

Feng Chang Bao is a brand that represents individuality(The existing models are off-road vehicles and sports cars)
Yangwang is a luxury brand used to showcase the best and latest technology of BYD.
Denza is a joint venture brand between BYD and Mercedes-Benz (now dominated by BYD). It is more like the electrification of traditional luxury cars.

In my opinion the only reason BYD is still building trashy PHEVs is to convince more people of BEVs faster.
It's not a long term strategy...but it will lead to more people transitioning to BEVs faster than if BYD would only produce BEVs now.

What on earth does BYD stand for?
BYD was named Ya Di Electronics Company. Because the company is in the Ya Di Road in Shenzhen. After, The CEO Wang Chuanfu thought the "Y" sorted too far down in the alphabet, So the character B was just conveniently added to give the company an alphabetical advantage in trade shows.
