Sad to see it go. Unfortunately I couldnt go to Earlsfield or Feltham to see it as planned. Looks like I will have to video it when it heads for scrap as the last resort. Great video as usual!
Thank you! I’d imagine they’ll go to storage first in case there’s another use for them I’d like to catch a move with them - I’m just hoping they find an alternative use rather than scrap them.
Nice video. I went to search for the last class 456s but didn't manage to ride one on the last day, I saw the pair going in the opposite direction and also there was 456004 Parked in a siding at Clapham Junction
I wasn’t able to make the last day - so I got out on the second to last day and rode on 456009 from Clapham to Ashtead and did a bit of filming there and in Leatherhead. Thanks for the kind words about the video, I appreciate your support.
It’s a real shame - they are slowly withdrawing the 455s too - 2 got hauled off to Long Marston for storage today, at least two others have gone. It’s a real shame as they are both good trains - I’m personally gutted. You’re lucky to have these as your local trains 🙂
@@YourLocalAviator good call - there’s another drag tomorrow of old SWR stock to Long Marston - not sure what’s going but I plan to try and capture it.
Thanks 🙂 they are very similar to the 321s - sadly their days are numbered too… even the Renatus ones which were massively upgraded. I love the PEPs, I want to make a real effort to see the 313s this year as I can’t see that they’ll be around for too much longer.
Finally caught up with your video. Stuff I havent done, I always said Id do locomotives more then units, however stuff like this makes me wonder why I didnt do more.
Thanks! I definitely have a preference to locomotives, especially steam but I think units deserve some love too - so I try to spread channel vintage across various trains 🙂
Thank you. Sadly I think you are right though being 2 car and a small fleet of just 24 there’s got to be an argument that they are suitable fir conversion - maybe hydrogen/ battery based or something.
I agree - I just hope there’s some sort of future for them - I’d like to see them converted to battery/ hydrogen fuel cell use personally - they are small and suited to branch kind use and with just 24 in the fleet it is viable - it’s just where Porterbrook want to spend the money or not will be the big question.
@@AnthonyFurnival Tbh if they got the real SWR livery it would cursed and not look right. It just looks so much better in the original livery, and so is with every other train for SWR.
@@TEBEnthusiast you might be right there, mind you they’ve had 4 liveries in their lifetime - NSE, Connex, Southern and SWT - I think the NSE or SWT liveries look best - I’ve emailed Porterbrook to try and find out what their plans are for these units.
@@AnthonyFurnival definitely I hope so to because I wouldn’t mind getting some snap shots because this weekend coming I will be on the hunt to get last of the 10 remaining 315s which is on my priority list even though i’am clashing with the 507s and 508s which withdrawals will start to be noticeable to the beloved 507s and 508s this year😞
@@PEPEMUFAN just to give you the heads up, they don’t usually run the 315s at weekends - usually Monday - Friday only.
