Was going to make an apple crisp for my husband but stumbled on this vid instead. Thank you for this simple and short recipe! Looks and smells delicious. Hope it tastes great.. we will know in a few short hours! 🧡💛🍁😋
I used this recipe yesterday to make my family apple crumble, and OH MY GOSH does it taste so good! I did add 40g of oats a bit of the lemon juice into the crumble to give it a bit of a sour tasting crunch and I also used green apples - which did make it a little sour, but that was the best part! And instead of the ice cream I added some yogurt to mine 😶🌫, but it still tastes great. Whoever sees this and is wandering if they should use this recipe, I just want to say: YES YOU SHOULD, IT'S SO GOOD!!🤩😉
Hiya, I just want to say thank you for this recipe. I just made this and I'm loving every bite. Never again will I buy from the shop! The nutmeg is everything!
Thank you so much for this recipe, it reminds me of the crumble I grew up with but have never been able to get quite right. I'm going to give this one a go. I converted to metric if it's helpful to anyone else: For Crumble Topping: 240 grams flour 80 grams sugar + 15 grams (You can use 120 grams of sugar if you prefer) 115 grams butter, cold and cut into small pieces 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg Pinch of salt For the Apples: 4-6 apples, any variety, peeled, cored, and chopped into wedges 15 grams sugar 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Juice of 1/2 lemon 60 ml milk (You can use almond milk)
I have never put milk in my crumble before, I bet that adds some extra heartyness. I love to put rolled oats in my topping, it adds a crunch and nice chewy texture.
I made it today as our Christmas Eve dessert. So easy to make yet so yummy! My husband loves it. Tastes great on its own without the ice cream. Thank you so much!
bye I know I’m 4 years late, but I’m 13 years old and trying to get better at baking and to be fair this recepie took me TIMEE because of the apples and the way I had to peel and cut which was kind of difficult for me but this honestly has helped me so much I loved it, my older brothers and parents loved it (trust me there WASENT even a crumb left!!), honestly best thing I’ve ever cooked!!!❤ I especially loved this with custard too. Like they just go together reallyyyyyyyy good!! Thank you so much for this recepie and INCASE you ever delete this I’m saving these steps to my notes app!!!❤❤❤
Hi, I tried this recipe today. I absolutely love how it turned out. I didn't have nutmeg so I just substituted it with Cinnamon Powder. Also, I accidentally put 1/2 tbsp of cinnamon powder onto the apples before simmering instead of 1tsp lol. But still, it turned out really good.I have been searching for Apple crumble recipe for a week and I'm glad I tried this one. Perhaps next time, I will put some nuts on the crumble as the family likes it when it's more crunchy. Thank you so much for this. I have added this to my recipe notes. :)
Oh Penny love how you were able to adjust various things and still end up with a fabulous product. It's seriously a very forgiving recipe (probably why I love it and make it do much lol 🤣🤣🤣) I love the idea of adding some nuts for even more crunch. Please let me know how it turns out if you try it. I might try it and let you know too
For the crumble topping: 1 Cup flour 1/3 Cup sugar* + 1 tablespoon 1/2 Cup butter cold and cut into small pieces 1/4 Teaspoon cinnamon powder 1/4 Teaspoon nutmeg Lemon zest half a lemon Pinch of salt For the apples: 4-6 Apples, any variety peeled, cured and chopped into wedges 1 Tablespoon sugar 1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 Lemon juiced 1/4 Cup milk I used almond milk
@@WellandTasty85 I guess it will be one of my favorite desserts as well! I didn't expect such a "fruity dessert" to be so tasty and delicious! Thank you!
I tried this crumble the other day and was just gorgeous, I have blackberries growing in my hedge and have a bumper crop this year, have another one in the oven now blackberry apple and sultana can't wait 😁
Looks amazing! I hope you made your sister proud. I tried it today and, oh did it smell amazing! I have never tasted apple crumble before, but it tasted exactly like how I have imagined it. Thank you very much.

I just finished making this but I added double cream on top, seasoned the apples more and it cooked faster than expected so I was caught off guard there LMAO. This was a REALLY good recipe thank you 💙
Am so tlad you haven't started calling it "apple "crisp". Will certainly give this a try, very first time I've seen milk added to the apples, but I always say whatever works 😅 thank you😊
Thank you for the recipe. It is delicious and i baked 3 extra pans and shared it with my neighbors. They too loved it. What i add to it was a two cups of “Honey Bunches of Oats”, and girl it was scrumptious. Lord bless American Samoa

I was looking for the recipe today and I found yours and decided to try it,my first time doing apple crumble, and am glad I found yours, its easy and very nice! I have enjoyed my apple crumble! Thanks a lot, keep it up dear❤🙏
i'll add a little trick, add heavy cream.... Then cook the apples with apple juice, cinnamon, sugar, lemon. Try using real cinnamon Stick. Then add oats to the top of the crumble. Mix white sugar and some brown for perfect golden brown. Another idea is add the crumble at the bottom, then the middle will be the apple, then add the crumble back again at the top. BOOM!
I'm so excited to share this recipe with you guys. This is honestly one of my fave deserts to make and I hope you give it a try
How come you forgot the measurements for the flour and sugar?
