I might do that with my system, thanks for M.2 Drive update from china, I forgot about them, I was use to the SSD drives, those M.2 drives are cheap from china less than 60 bucks for 250 gigs :) from what I saw, I may make some usb 3.0 drives from it... For boot drives

You have helped me with a problem with the M4 3650 server with your video thank you. I’m unable to see my external drives from the bios IMM page the drives are visible from MegaRaid. Is there any way Lenovo supports access in XClarity to the external drives? I’m getting a message now that the drives are not supported only the drives on the internal 5110e raid controller are visible not the 5120 external controller.
I have a x3650M4 with this BIOS version(-[VVE124AUS-1.30]-), and 2 processor E5-2620. I've changed two processors E5-2690v2 but the server doesn't run. Are the processors faulty or is it mandatory upgrde the BIOS? Thank your for your time!!
Hi Carlos Gil Yes, if you have really old firmware on the M4, you need to firmware update for it to get the micro code for the V2 CPU´s. I ran in to this problem years back, when updating an x3650 M4 with new CPU's But there is another good reason to update : th-cam.com/video/zl4iDxGD7cQ/w-d-xo.html and this video also shows you the newest updating :-) Thank you for watching! :-)

I cannot figure out that error "failed to open file %1" it should have opened the file maybe it was wrong format, I had something like but the system it should have been able to open the file.
Good video. But when i am in the BOMC OS the server searching very long for Updates (16:06). I let him search for a day and they found nothing. Sorry for my bad englisch ^^

I am unable to get into BIOS for my IBM 3650 M4 server. F1 key not working at all. I tried on Multiple keyboard, removed CMOS battery etc etc. please help
If you are very impatient, that can be the problem,, (it´s a longshot) But when the server loses power without it knowing why,, it will do a very thorough upstart,, witch often looks like it is just rebooting and rebooting,, it does this 2-3 times and then comes up. It You shut it off,, it will try again next time... maybe??

I have Three IBM x3650 M4 servers, this week I have extended RAM memory from 48Gb a 96Gb. Once update to cease communicating with IMM I can't connect with BIOS or BOMC The IMM its working because I can restart and reset to factory but can not connect. The message in integrated management module in bios it's: Error in retrieving IMM configuration. Exit this page and try again later Have you ever encountered this error? Do you know any way to update uefi and IMM without through the IMM? I tried to do BOMC but i give error first the IMM and then UEFI.

Thaks you for you answer!! I have already removed all the hardware from server. I have only one memory for processor. I Think the problem is communicating with the IMM LAN. This worked perfectly to update the RAM, then no longer worked. I started from USB and updating the UEFI to the latest version gives me IMM error. Hello , We have an IBM X3650 M4 server. We did a Raid Card Firmware update via Windows. The server stays on the black screen after restarting and the following message appears "raid adapter firmware failed validation adapter needs to be reflashed press any key to continued" I try to update the firmware by creating usb boot media with tools such as xclarity or updatexpress and booting from usb, however the graphical interface does not come and it shows a lot of failures on the black screen. As far as I understand, it cannot access some files in the usb disk. How can I solve this problem? Is there a solution from the IMM console? Serial no : 06FBDCH Model : AC1 MT : 7915
Hi veer rajput It does that to protect the server,, from overheating,, it controls the temperature with the IMM in the system,, a separate onboard computer system on the system board.. if the IMM stops responding/fails the fans will go full speed to protect the serve,, because it is blinde. I do not believe this worked in the M4,, in the M5 you could config simple arrays from the IMM,, or now XCC.

Thank for video.. but i can't open the kvm with java like your video,, can i try to make bootable.iso to the flashdisk with rufus ?
Java is a real issue now,, you might need an old PC or VM with WIN7 to make it work.

I also found that I could not do this with the web interface on the x3650 M4,, you can on the M5,, there are other options like the ASU that may work.

Firmware and drivers is freely available from IBM,, just need to create a free login. The IMM key is a so called FOD code,, search for that.
