Late to the game here but let's see (as of 09.27.19) the video has 272 likes and 71 dislikes...so it seems despite the vocal minority here MORE people 'LIKE' the vid than 'dislike' it. It's a fun, upbeat, bopper of a song that represents a blend of NY old and new with the Doo-Wop and Hip Hop elements.
Is there anyone more musically unhip than Paul Shaffer? How the devil has this joker held on to the Letterman gig and why is he associated with many of the awards shows? And Schaffer's singing is worse than Don Johnson and Bruce Willis combined. I cant even recall a worse singer than this guy.
Schaeffer is a great keyboardist and bandleader, he's proven that over the years, but he is not the best songwriter and he absolutely can't sing (or rap!). It might have almost worked if he had focused on what he is good at, but he pretty much ruined it.

I think it's fun. I knew Johnny on a personal level and I also work and perform with Jay on the doo wop circuit. I think if Johnny, and Jay, and Dion thought this was an insult, they would not have agreed to perform it. They are having fun and you can see it.
