Shame on the "Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame" for not having Johnny Maestro inducted. Most of todays so called singers couldn"t carry his migrophone.R.I.P. Johnny.God has a very talented man.
Amen to that...I worked with him in past years...he could be tough, even rude and a bit arrogant, but all in all he had a heart of gold and and a wealth of talent...Sleep well, my friend and dwell in heaven forever....
RIP, Johnny is singing with the Angels in Heaven!! He should be Inducted in the Rock n roll hall of Fame in Cleveland, Oh!! You all can agree on this!! One of a kind Voice, truly missed!!!
These songs bring back so many memories. I'm 73 years old. From the Bronx. Lived and worked there till I was 62. I listened to Johnny Maestro all my life it seems. I no longer live in the Bronx. But, these songs bring back memories of my life in the city. Thank you for sharing.
THE GREATEST VOICE IN MUSIC EVER........ WAKE UP ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF SHAME......STOP THE DAMN POLITICS... PUT JOHNNY AND THE GUYS WHERE THEY RIGHTFULLY BELONG.......
He has to be one of the best tenors on this planet, even up to his passing his voice still the richness and intensity as when he first started. What a tremendous loss for the music industry, he was much underrated but those who could sing will appreciate his style of music, "KUDOS"
I performed many shows with Johnny and the Bridge, and he truly was a pure singer and ONE of the Best. It was an honor for ROCK 'N RHYTHM to share the Stage with such a Great Talent.
There will never be another voice like yours Johnny, however your music lives on and many will come to sing your hits in your honor. I'm sure all those that sing yor tunes echo my sentiments and humbly sing on in your memory and honor.
We would get there early to get good seats, sing to every song, drink a lot of booze & just have a great time. We followed him for years. Last saw him at the Surf Club in Ortley Beach not too long before he passed. Listening to his songs take me back to simpler times. My 3 children became fans also. Though they were not around in his early years they still loved him and his music.
Three of the greatest singing voices and musical timing in all of Rock n'Roll were shared by Johnny Maestro, Jimmy Beaumont and James Sheppard. Not one of these three greats happens to be in the R n'R Hall of Fame, which makes me wonder what purpose it really serves, if any.
Ttoday (March 24th) is a year since we had lost our wonder Johnny Maestro. His inspiration to all of us will never die. We will alway love and miss you, Johnny.
Thank you for this terrific tribute to one of the greatest voices of all time. I wish God's gift to Johnny was not taken from us so soon, but I'm thankful for all the music Johnny left us to enjoy. Whenever I see a rainbow, I think it's a sign that Johnny's voice is cascading through the Heavens. RIP Sir.
There's no reason why he's not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I think all of his fans should start a petition to them and get his name in there where it belongs. I'd be proud to sign it !
Johnny died on my Birthday last year and I just found out about it. I send my sympathy to his family. He had one of the purest voices I've ever heard. Saw him about 20 years ago in NJ and met him. Tried to take his picture with my husband but I had no film in the camera. Johnny found this funny. I'm glad I made him smile as he did me with his beautiful voice. I told him his voice was just as strong as it was when he first started and he told me he practiced every day. What a talent.
I have seen Johhny many times in person. He is and was one of the best artist of song. I am a big fan of Dop Woop and Johnnie was always a big part of it. I am sad that I will no longer be able to see him perform again. I remember dancing with my daughter to his 16 Candles. I will always listen to and remember him.Bless you and your family Johhnny.
Outstanding talent. Have been seeing him at the Jersey Shore for 40 years. Saw him the year before he died. My wife and I are deeply saddened by his passing. My wife will never forget the time she cornered him in the dressing room at the Bamboo Bar in Seaside Heights and had him and the BB sign the poster she took off the wall outside the bar.His music will be his legacy
Sixteen Candles....and I was 16! Step by Step was such a hot tune on radio and great to dance to. Johnny had such a fantastic pitch perfect voice. Gorgeous to listen to. We need this music to be read released today....OMG..." Girl you're getting married...but it's the worst that could happen to me" wow.... I loved his songs so much. And the backup singers had such harmony . He sang his songs right up until the end. Sing on Johnny...you'll never walk alone as long as we have your footprint on vinyl. ⚘🎶⭐🎶⚘
Thank you Johnny Maestro for giving us so many beautiful songs for us to remember you by. We had the wonderful enjoyment of seeing you perform at the BB Mann in Ft Myers shortly before your passing. You were called on stage after the performance of Frankie Avalon. Love You Always, Karin and Marcel FMB
One of the premier voices in music. He's up there with so many other wonderful voices now, in the great choir. His leaving us was The Worst That Could Happen. But we were blessed that he was here.
I grew up listening to this music I did not know anything about Johnny maestro until I listened to this song the other day and started looking up members of the band just out of curiosity. Since then I have been obsessed with knowing more about him and listening to all of his songs. I regret that I never saw him in concert. I agree that it is shameful that so many inferior singers are in the hall of fame and he is not.
RIP. He had such a rich voice; few could sing like him or can sing like him now. I loved 💖💖 his music at the age of 11 and still do at 76. He should definitely be in the Hall of Fame!
I never failed to see Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge when they were in south Florida. Even saw the droup at a private function just a few years ago. What a great voice and stage presence he had. Thank God I have many of his recordings which I often listen to. He will be missed. Too bad he was never induted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is a great oversight and should be rectified posthumously.
Mike Prisament here - when I was working with Ronnie I. Of Clifton Records, Clifton, N.J. & U.G.H.A. we had Johnny at one of our shows in my old high school De Witt Clinton in The Bronx. Great guy, great group, great memories.

I'm a little too late in really appreciating his true talent. - knew the music, but didn't register untilvI saw a recent Ed Dullivan composite show. I have been totally blown away by Johnny's powerful voice! Fly high Johnny 🙏🙏❤️❤️
