I made the mistake of selling my first couple of Ayatan Sculptures without first filling the sockets. I do recall Maroo asking if I knew I could "upgrade" these or something like that. That was the first clue to me that there was a lot more to these stupid sculptures than I knew 😀
There is another ability better than Golden Instinct. the Paralax ship from Zarimon has an ability that locates and marks all loot in a 600m radius. Great video!

So now I'm wondering, where do I get Golden Instinct from? Apparently from Helminth. For me, Helminth is at the top of my list of features that seem way too confusing to actually use, so I've yet to figure out nearly anything about it or ever use it. A few guides on it talk about it as if you already understand its purpose and why you would use it, so they have been no help. I did find one video that attempted to explain it, but the guy was difficult to understand so I couldn't catch all that he was saying. A few bits of text either in the "Show more" or as overlays in a video sure would have been a great help.
I've made a video about the absolute basics of helminth. To start off you'll need the helmnith segment from brother at Necralisk on Deimos. It's quite a expensive blueprint. After it is crafted you can install it in the infested room in the orbiter. That's where the Helminth is. After that you'll have to sacrifice warframes to it and feed it massive amounts of resources. Helminth itself has a leveling system which unlocks abilities and other things, Golden instinct being one of them. I really suggest watching the video I've made, which hopefully isn't confusing. If you have any particular questions though, let me know.

Turns out I had made a few assumptions about how it might work that were wrong. This is where better instructions on how to use it would have helped.

I found one in my first mission on mars
I have almost exactly 200 hours ingame, and. I haven't found many, mabye 5 at most
look carefully when you run missions, some are just sitting out in the open while most of the others are hidden
The real endgame is to fill your ship with ayatan sculptures
