If I do a mouse knockout and get to the stage of making mice homozygous for the knockout the likelihood of the offspring being homozygous is 25 % right? What could have happened if no homozygous mice are generated at all?
There can be many explanations for this result, I'll suggest checking these two first. First we should rule out any experimental errors. Next we should check if the mutation is lethal or not. In that case, the offspring ratios will be changed.
