    Very clear. Thanks. I have a question on the knock-out approach. So after you have 'transferred' the gene of interest onto the vector via homologous recombination, can you now utilize this vector with the gene of interest for future experiments such as expression of the gene? thanks again.

    I haven't had genetics yet and my question is: Do we do this with oocytes to get adults where every cell has this knockdown etc? Or with cells of an adult just to see how those cells behave compared to the others?

    • @missVierzehn
      @missVierzehn 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cause in my Internship we do not use cell cultures, but adult knockdown flies

    So why we couldn't use use the knockout process in cancer treatment , by removing the gene is responsible for cell division can be removed by knockout process

    • @shomusbiologyofficial
      @shomusbiologyofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because genes involved in cancer are involved with growth or death of our cell and knocking tgem down can csuse many other unwanted problems
