    I bought it from secondhand market about 180$, love the image quality on my x100S. When attached, many people think im shooting with old school cameras from the 50’s. Cool design!

    With an interchangeable lens camera, you would have to mess around with two lenses swapping them over. The great thing with this camera is, because one lens is already built in, it’s a simple case of just screwing the tcl on and off.

    Nice video. Interested in the IQ difference between the TCL and using the in camera digital 50mm.

    First off what nice tempo when you talk👍 Everyone seems to talk so fast these days, so good with your calm way.
    I have hold up from photo for some years but have now decided to start up again and after first nikon and then sony my brother has convinced me to go to fuji. Lovely colours and nice film simulations.
    I have bought this camera used yesterday and it will come next week, think it will be great. Was thinking of xt3 and xs10 first , i was afraid i would miss not to change lenses, and maybe i will but decided to go with this, and one reason was due to this converter wich im going to buy in future. I totally agree with you, i think it looks much better with this on, i never liked the look of pancake lenses even they are light, but a big front glass is beatiful 😊👍
    More so i like the 50mm i often do portraits and also macro or at least close up, one big reson i went with this camera 10 cm, thats really good.
    I must complement on your pictures, the are very Estatic pleasing to my eys, really beatiful art.
    I will look in to your instagram for more photos.
    I looking forward to take pictures of my cat and out in nature, but seems this camera can do anything, without birds maybe but thats not prio any more.
    Do you use any specifik simulations in your photos you showed here or is it your oen recepies ?
    Big thanks for nice video and looking forward to se if you make more videos about this camera and lens
    I mostly focus manual with old lenses before but what i have read this is no good to use that way, its autofocus.
    But have you tested to focus manual with this?
    Best regards
    Joakim

    I’ve found myself leaving the xt3 at home more and more since I got the x100v, ESPECIALLY with the TCL!

    Share the same feelings towards my silver x100v with a similar brown half case and strap.
    And now with the new tcl 100ii silver always mounted on the lens.
    Receiving a lot of eyeballs and compliments. Also a mood elevator.

    Do you notice better background separation on portraits with the tcl compared to the stock lens?

  • @stevechan5569

    I have both the WCL and TCL, using both on the X100V and only the WCL on the X70. I have original WCL version with the black rubber lens hood. They are both good and don’t seem to affect the picture quality at all. Cheers!

    I'm confused. Did you just do a10 minute lens review and not did discuss the quality of the images? I watched for about 5 minutes and after listening to a lot of opinion on the cool look of the lens started fast forwarding going to see some sample shots and image info. I think focusing on the image quality might be more helpful than the color of the lens cap.

    • @mblakepope
      @mblakepope  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback, Sam. It’s a teleconverter “lens” but not a lens in a traditional sense so naturally an image quality deep dive would prove to be redundant assuming viewers are familiar with the x100v. This is from the web if helpful:
      This is achieved without compromising the original optical characteristics of the X100V.
      Reviewing the image quality would be comparable to reviewing a UV filter for 10 minutes. Feel me? It’s great if you’re still curious 👍

    Meh.... X100V can zoom without losing resolution (only jpeg yes). The 28mm is more useful imho

      @@mblakepope i shoot raw+jpeg(love the film recipes). Croping (or moving upfront)is always possible, the oposite isn't. Cheers

    • @oisin_o_boyle

      Digital Zoom doesn’t change the depth of field, unlike a real optical focal length. Biggest difference imo.

    • @ifitrollsrideit530
      @ifitrollsrideit530 ปีที่แล้ว

      The neat thing is that you can combine the digital teleconverter with the TCL-X100 to get a 100mm equiv. Depending on what you're doing that may be just enough to get you close enough.

    • @matamoski
      @matamoski ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ifitrollsrideit530 did you buy the X100 to do that kind of photography?

    • @ifitrollsrideit530
      @ifitrollsrideit530 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matamoski Nah I bought it for up close street stuff but it also makes a nice camera to take on holiday.
      Some times you're stuck with not being able to get close to things the digital zoom + TCL helps even if it's only 100mm.

    Some people buy a camera for its purpose and don´t care how the camera looks like. Some people buy a camera because the camera looks cool. That´s why this bloody X100V is sold out everywhere because every hipster must have it.
    PS: Don´t take it personally.

    • @mblakepope
      @mblakepope  ปีที่แล้ว

      Truth, no offense taken. I actually don’t have this camera anymore. Sold it prior to all the hype to invest in the GFX system. Pretty wild how obsessive people are over this thing. I’ve got an xpro2 & 3 and have been far more happy with those in place of the x100v 👌
