    *I am one of those people who has problems with delivery, but **_only with USPS._** I live in a 4 apt bldg, and this has been an issue for the entire ten plus years I've lived here - and every other tenant in this building has had the very same problem.*
    *When this first started, it got so bad that we installed video surveillance systems just to be able to know what the actual truth was, and it didn't take very long to see that the issue was with the carriers. Yes, I said "carriers", as in plural. It turns out that my zip code is ne of the four "Training Routes" in our state, so every single delivery is made by a carrier in the very earliest pert of their training. To make matters worse, they are supervised (and I use that term VERY loosely!), by people who are in the very first days of their 5 week training cycle, after which they are given their permanent assignment (somewhere else), and we get a new set of beginner supervisors. Having a route where EVERY carrier is at the very start of their probationary training, being supervised by people at the start of **_their_** beginner training, is a 100% infallible recipe for disaster, which almost never fails to disappoint (at the very least).*
    *Our problems are so bad, and so completely documented with our 24x7x365 video surveillance, that you would think the Post Office might reconsider their plans for the way they train their works, but you'd be wrong We have gone so far as to file criminal theft reports with the local PD, the Postal Inspectors Service (aka the postal police), the FBI (who, oddly, has jurisdiction as well as the Inspectors), the Postal Service Inspector General, and others - all with no positive results (if there was even an acknowledgement of an issue being real.*
    *After r 4th year of postal hell, we have settled into a routine that usually works if the sellers are willing to go along for the ride. We send them a cover letter explaining in detail our problems with the USPS, and an offer to pay the difference for ANY other carrier: at least 95% of sellers go along with it, w get our package, and they get both the difference in shipping costs, and a REALLY great review for putting up with this (something they really are NOT responsible for).

      Thanks for watching and thanks for replying. I'm pretty fortunate. The postman picks up all of my packages at my office. He is a 20 plus year postal employee. However, when he's on vacation, and another postal worker has taken his place, a lot of days they don't either come into the office or if they do, sometimes they fail to pick up my packages which are right there in front of them.
      Just remember this. To get a job as a postal worker, all you have to do is pass a civil service test which a 6th grader could do.

    This just happened to me just a couple of hours ago. I sent the person a message and re sent them the tracking info showing that it was delivered on the 31st. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and going to my local post office tomorrow to have them confirm, and if they do agree that it was delivered, I will call eBay as you suggested. Thank you

    Thank you! We are fairly new to selling on eBay. Recently sold some very nice dishes to a customer. We shipped the next day via USPS, and tracking shows it was delivered a few days later. Buyer just emailed me and said she never got the package. I did what you said and will wait a few days for the results. Oh, the buyer has ZERO feedback right now... so who knows?

    I sold an item with tracking, the buyer then opened a case stating that they didn’t receive item, but since I provided tracking eBay closed the case in my favour but now 2 weeks later the buyer asked eBay to review the case again and now they’ve ruled in the buyers favour, and automatically taken the funds out of my account, this is really unfair. What can I do??

      Unfortunately, there's not much you can do. It is eBay's platform, they make the rules and for some reason, ruled against you. I have no idea why.

    SMH, I have a 100% seller rating and had a couple sellers claim they didn’t get the package when it shows as dilivered, I’ve noticed they like to threaten with bad reviews and say things like “I expect”. Thank for your info, I take pride in having a perfect rating and for some of these people who ACTUALLY want to scam sellers it’s sad, for buyers whom packages get lost I feel for you guys but as a buyer myself I also get that stuff could get lost from time to time.

    Mines a little more unique. At first he contacted me and told me that he didn’t receive anything despite it saying it was delivered. Then he opened a dispute and took a picture of an empty envelope with the shipping label I printed out shoddily taped onto an envelope and I noticed the little red letters “Received Without Contents”. 1.) I shipped a BOX with a 9 lb omnibus inside of it. Shouldn’t USPS have weighed it before shipping it that way I have proof? There’s definitely video of me shipping the box. 2.) I also bought tape and taped said box in front of the woman and she asked me if there was a book inside because I was shipping with Media Mail. I don’t feel like she’d ask me that if I mailed an empty envelope. 3.) Who stamped that “Received Without Contents”? If USPS stamped that and still gave it to him, shouldn’t that be on them?
    I really feel like he’s lying and just ripped off the shipping label and taped it onto a used envelope. Do you think eBay will see through this?

    How does this work for eBay standard envelope? There is no actual USPS tracking number that I can find as the seller.

    Thank you for this informative information. I have a buyer stating they did not receive the item after it shows delivered in mailbox. This is the first occurrence after shipping out 1800 packages on Ebay through USPS. The buyer is upset and I can tell by the messages he is hoping I will just issue him a $60 refund. Not happening. I shipped the item out thr next day with tracking. He will be a repeat violater to other sellers if he is lying ( which he probably is) so I'm firm on not issuing a refund. I offered to file a USPS claim on his behalf after the required time frame and advised him to go into USPS to inquire where his package is. ( more than likely its at his house)

      Update: The buyer opened a case, and Ebay closed it in my favor since tracking showed delivered. He also didn't check with USPS to inquire about his package being lost, stating he barely has time to do anything. Sounds like a scammer to me.

      So… I have a guy who after it delivered. He said “Hey I didn’t receive anything even though it says delivered”
      The he filed with eBay saying he didn’t receive package and I have like 3 days to resolve it. I don’t have a tracking number to replace it because it’s literally the shipping label printed out from eBay itself. This was followed by a new message where he took a picture of an envelope that with the eBay shipping label that was printed out shoddily taped to this empty envelope. I didn’t mail an “empty envelope”, I mailed a box with a 9 lb omnibus inside of it. I feel like USPS should have the data saying they weighed it before shipping.
      ALSO, on the empty envelope it has these tiny red letters stamped “Received Without Contents”. How did that stamp get there, I asked? If someone delivered an empty envelope with “Received Without Contents” stamped on it, I would think USPS would be held accountable. Why would they mail an empty envelope like that.
      I think he’s lying but I’m worried eBay will side with him even though I know there’s a video of me mailing a BOX out

    As for my case, the eBay buyer claimed that she didn't receive the package and said that she contacted the local post office and they said the package was delivered to a third-party reshipper. So what do I do?

    Can you add tracking without purchasing the shitty..woops I mean shipping label? That's all I want to know, because I never put tracking on my items, they are all usually under $20.

    I just had this happened to me, I called eBay and they told me that since the package is showing delivered that they will sign in my favor. But I still have to wait the 3 days. I now messaged the buyer and updated tracking info with the example message you provided and I haven’t heard back from them yet, but will update if I get any problems from it. I asked if the buyer could leave negative feedback and eBay told me that they will appeal the case to still side in my favor.

    I’m currently going through this. I’ve been on eBay since 2003 and never have encountered this. Wish I sent the message you suggested, but I’m so worried about negative feedback that I gave them the “I’m here to help” tone. Told them I reached out to the post office. Tomorrow or so I’ll tell them to look into it! Lol

      I’m in the same situation. How did it go? This is the first time I’ve had a buyer claim they didn’t receive a card (eBay standard envelope). It shows delivered on eBay but I can’t find an actual USPS tracking number.

I think at this point it’s better that than respond and remind them of the issue. Not the best way to handle it, but if they don’t push the issue I’m not going to.

    I just started selling on Ebay and already had this happen. Person is a trucker and had the item delivered to his place of employment while he was on the road. USPS shows it delivered to front desk. I did everything mentioned in the video and called Ebay. They said I have to wait the required time before they can close the case, Mar 21 in this case. But the rep assured me I did everything correct.

    Tracking doesnt mean it was delivered as to be delivered the person actually has to have the item not put on steps and either taken by delivery person or someone else stealing it .
    Best way is always get it signed for!
    That way no one can argue it wasnt delivered.
    As without it the buyer can then take it to the bank to get a refund as if you cant prove they received it then your likely to have that money refunded back to buyer by paypal or card/bank account.
    So always send it signed for!!!

      Thanks for watching. Sorry, not doing that. It costs $3.65 to get a signature. If I, the seller paid for it, it would cost me $550 per month as I sell about 150 items per month. Also, I am not going to pass along that cost to my buyers.

      It’s a good idea to pay for signage when it’s a high priced item. For example, if I sell an item that was sold for $1000, I will definitely pay the extra $3 to have it signed when delivered.

      Most are happy to pay for it as it adds security to the transaction and besides you have to take into account the cost of time and hassle too try and prove they got it without it also as stated without one your not going to win when they ask paypal, their bank or credit card for the money back, which thus costs more money in time and hassle so yes always do signed for saves you money in the long run and less stress and grey hairs

      I sent out a huge package recently. Was an expensive lot of items that I gave a big discount on just to move it and since it was expensive and a large heavy package I added signature confirmation. The package was delivered and signed for. Then almost 2 weeks later I got a random message from the buyer saying they didnt get the right package. I take pics of the package/contents while packing it together, then the package complete and a final pic of where I'm giving it to the carrier. Been selling here and there since the 2000s and non stop over the past few years and have never had an issue before. 100s feedback always feedback of how i packaged it up so securely and shipped out promptly (usually within an hour or 2 if possible or the next day latest). This is just a strange occurence. I called ups 5 min after receiving the message. About 2 hrs later the branch that delivered it called me back. Said it was odd and checked the building and there was no unknown packages there. Said they would investigate it. Havent heard anything since and now the buyer has initiated a request. Previous to buying it, the buyer was great with communication. Said he was wanting to get the lot for his son to play it with him so I accepted the low offer since it was for his son and to introduce him to a new hobby. I let him know once I got it packed up. Explained how to unpack it all the easiest and then went and dropped it off. He said he was eagerly waiting to recieve it. Now fast forward 2 weeks and hes saying he was gone on vacation and just now opened it. That it's not the right package like ups messed up and put the label on a small package. My question is why would you buy a huge package of you were actually going to be leaving for vacation and how would you be eagerly awaiting a package if you werent even going to be there? Just a strange situation

    Thanks for making this video. I think the process is broken on Ebay's side, especially for new sellers. I just started selling last month and already had this happen. Oh man, I was lost at first. I think I have a handle on it now. We'll see when the case is closed.

    Hello friend I have a question what do I do if the item has been delivered and showing that it's been delivered but it will not let me update the tracking details? How many sports cards seller on eBay and I ship a lot of the cards using the eBay standard shipping envelopes and when I went to the request to update the tracking it will not allow me it says the tracking number cannot be changed once the item is delivered.

    Im a new seller, I just received my first case related to this concern. I sent a message and provided tracking number to the buyer. Do I need to wait until 3 days before I call eBay if case the case does not resolve?

    Thanks for making this video! I recently got one of these cases where the seller claims the item was never delivered and the tracking photos show a totally different place (even though tracking claims it was at the address), and the seller's on file ebay address was used (FedEx). I do feel much better about the situation now.

    Funny, because as a buyer only, I I did buy alotttt from tons of random and repeat sellers, many items many orders and I find sometimes they say delivered only to find out later seller clams item was bounced back, only to find by negative reviews that start popping up shortly after mine saying same happened to them, tons of complaints they had seller claiming items bounced back and to close case and item will be there shortly, and to please close case so it won't hurt their ratings only if you close case, item never comes and ebay says, sorry you closed the case nothing we can do about it. Or they say close case so I can refund you. One guy on ebay sells ebay envelopes with tracking for $1 by doing a work around. If you buy a random common penny for $1 he will send it to u in ebay envelope with tracking then ship any other items from him with so you have tracking, if you refuse to screw ebay and not buy ebays envelope with tracking, he punishes thous and gets their money right away then a month later he lies and says he shipped then after open case he claims bounce back then another month almost and he is forced to refund. Not worth the time. I have one seller that stalked me, contacting other sellers and named them as well in our case correspondences. Cussed and lied and cried, so unprofessional. When feedback can be erased as it is almost always is especially if you have tons of listings, then I feel like I'm not provided with the most important tool I need to make informed decisions on who I want to support through me doing business. I want to have the complete data that enables me to make that decision. Out of last order placed 13 great sellers, 1 wonderful one that first order was not so good so she admitted he shipping wasn't figured out so I helped her, she offered to resend new order on her, I refused and told her if it helped her figure it out for future customers and orders I'd be happy to reorder and pay for it myself, also in my records through communications. Those last 3 though, still on abusing customers from the looks of tons of bad feedback that ebay then removes from each of us just days later, but I keep getting screenshots of because they are dragging their feet closing my account so they can claim another active buyer. Which I am not nor will be again if this remains their way. Protect bad sellers. One bad seller will cost tons of good customers, protect tons of bad sellers lose us all. One day gonna figure it out. More then likely be too late

      I got one yesterday. After messaging the buyer back, they sent me a refund request. I immediately called eBay. They told me to call back on Tuesday and it will be closed in my favor.

      If there's no proof of delivery, seller will have to refund. Proof of postage is not proof it was delivered.

    I sent a ps4 slim to address in same counrty stated on the add that i use cheapest postage with no tracking and didnt accept returns as item was sold as spairs not working
    Seller paid for item and postage i sent item with postage recipt and the seller is saying they havent recived the item when i sent them proof i posted the item with there address on recipt aswell
    Will i still be charged if ebay refund them

      Generally in that case, if you have proof of delivery it was delivered and eBay will side with you.

    Here's my problem I ship small items in a tiny bubble mailer. Sometimes it takes longer for the item to get where it has to go. The problem is a buyer will open up a case saying they haven't received the item I will ask them do they mind waiting a couple of more days because sometimes this item takes a little longer to get to you. Ninety-nine percent of the time the item gets to them within the next couple of days as then ask them to please close out the case which they do. The problem is is that eBay still hold this against me and I always get these messages saying you've had higher-than-normal item not received well the buyer did receive it they closed out the request but it still held against me what do I do?

    This happen to me today . In the day when I shipped the item I sent seller a picture of the receipt with tracking number. I put the tracking number in ebay but I miss one number. The buyer contact me this morning stating the item was not received. I pull out the receipt and recheck my tracking number. I enterer the correct number this time. Also tracking number showed that item was delivered. I provide buyer with proof that item was delivered. A few hours later he closed the claim.

    I have this issue, on top of that, the buyers sent me pictures of it after they received it. So i have proof they received the item.

    But how does it work when tracking ends and it hasn't been delivered? It says out for delivery. Then next entry is awaiting scan. Then nothing 😕

      That means it has either been picked up by the postman and never scanned or is sitting in a post office somewhere.

    The buyer always gets preference, and they can change their story saying they did receive it but it was the wrong item.

      In this case, the buyer does not get preference. Saying it was the wrong item is a totally different video.

    I have this issue going now-- buyer claims they didn't receive. UPS tracking shows delivery. I appreciate your advice and did add the tracking number into the dispute form. However, the advice to call Ebay is pretty laughable. They just kept telling me to refer to the online directions

      ​@therefinedreseller275 Ebay ruled against me. I feel so dishearten by Ebay. I received 4 calls from Ebay providing seller protection. ..but ending charging my credit for the refund to the customer and I'm out of my product I sent to the customer. I will appeal this.
      If Ebay doesn't solve this...it will be my last dealing with them. In my case they didn't protect you me against scammers. I was one of them.

    Please be sure to post your sales policy in large print. I have ordered hundreds of packages, but had two that claimed to be delivered but I never recieved. Luckily my credit card protects my purchases so I was refunded. I get you are making sales, but with porch pirates and other mishaps are far more likely than a buyer lying. Companies keep track of such people who make repeated claims of non delivery. Just saying if this is your policy make sure your buyers know this up front. I will be sure to avoid such a merchant and keep my money flowing to merchants not looking to find any loophole to get out of not delivering to the customer, sorry a person's porch is not the person themselves.

    My mail carrier doesn't scan the mail just after he points it in our mailbox, he parks his truck and scans the whole neighborhoods mail at once before delivering them. It is possible that a scan package got sent to the wrong house,

      I guess it could have. But, again, if it is showing delivered it was delivered. You have done what you were supposed to do as an eBay seller.

    That's not true. Ebay just ruled in the customer favor. Buyer claimed he didn't received anything in the box. Ebay charged me the refund and refunded the customer.
    I am filing an appeal with Ebay.
    This has really gotten me down on ebay . If they can't protect the seller...why do business with them.

      Thanks for watching. You could reach out to the buyer and, if by some miracle he finds out something like, his neighbor has it, you can ask him to send you the money.

    I been scamed by too many sellers on ebay. All i want is the item I paid for. 3 out of 5 sellers will try to pull a scam on me. Im sick of scammers on ebay. I dont feel bad for sellers just the honest ones. Too many sellers crying on you tube. YOU ARE NOT ALL HONEST PEOPLE

    providing tracking number and sorting issues with a courier is a seller issue to be dealt with..an investigation should be done and informing buyer of every it detail...not just be stubborn and say - I did everything on my side, I am washing my hands now of this...You need to teach sellers to provide tracking numbers for each item,not just combined parcel number. If you think I am saying BS, contact your Royal Mail or any other courier

    well, I had times of when sellers sure that item been sent within that combined delivery,but I have not receive it in a parcel. As a seller has provided to Ebay system that tracking order number it worked as 1 tracking for all items that should have been in that parcel. I did call Ebay help for more then dozen of times. Every new staff been saying different things and I end up getting finally refund after few months because I filed a case with PayPal! So stay safe out there...dont allow to trick yourself with 1 tracking number when it should be for every item separately!

      Hmmm.. You've had times? How many times? Sounds very suspicious. Ebay combines all items bought at the same time going to the same address to a singular tracking number to save the Seller money. If you're so worried that you won't receive all of your items why don't you ask the Seller not to combine Items and send everything separately? Or just buy 1 thing at a time from a Seller and see how it goes?

      @@courtneymaynard7645 yes, I am using Ebay few years now. Suspicious is how Ebay help seller and only PayPal really helps. If you know that proofs are photos of a parcel and items in it. And obviously,once again, that seller must provide tracking info of each item, so as buyer you not scammed. as for combined parcel, seller must include a list of items on it,take a photo (in a case of issue of receiving). I have dealt with sellers that are responsible and knows their job

      @@7fink7 When you buy multiple items and it gets combined into one package there is one tracking number for all of those items. USPS isn't using 12 different tracking numbers for 1 package. As far as a list it's on your computer or phone under your purchased items correct? Once again if you're so worried that every Seller is going to scam you then buy 1 item at a time. Sellers are happy to sell multiple items because it makes packaging easier and it's all going to the same person. Ebay always wants to help the buyer so if they actually sided with the seller then there must of been a good reason!!!
