Nice review, these are great sounding pedals and I've always been impressed with Amptweaker as a company putting out pretty cool stuff. Thank you for saying up front about the difference with the power amps, it's nice to have a review with the bottom line up front and not just BS'ing around.
I use the TMPro with a GE-7 EQ in the loop that's always on for a boost. The bypass loop has a chorus and an FX10 for boosting a clean tone. The loops are a great feature. I didn't know they released a new version.
Thanks bro. There are guys with larger collections but they focus on buying low and selling them for a profit. It ends up being more like a business for them, whereas these amps are mine and not for sale, ever. :)
I wonder how it's sounds with the Fryette PS2 as the power Amp. 6L6 tubes instead of the EL34's in the Mooer. Awesome demo. Sounded sick when the boost was on.
I need to make a video running it through the Mesa 2:90 (6L6) and my Marshall 9004 (EL34) since the Mooer Tube Engine uses the smaller 6V6 baby tubes. :)
Ey homie you should do a comparison between this and one of your 5150/6505s? I had the OG tight metal and that thing was the best dist/preamp ive ever used. Definitely considering this one. I need a 5150esque tone in my life. Was about to snag the MH but theyre out of stock!!! So is the MT15!! 😡😤 💙 you bro!

Haha!! Same!! I live in the Burg too!! I have this pedal but the original from James Brown. I prefer running it up front with a ts-9 and mxr 10 band eq. Also, I'd run a ns-2 noise gate in front and run the built in on post. Brutal pinch harmonics without any excess noise!! Cheers from upstate NY!! Love to see someone promote Parkway!!
Did you mess with the built in boost on the pedal itself? Its supposed to change the distortion characteristic the way a boost pedal will- as opposed to it being a volume or secondary boost. Just wondering if you tried dialing it in that way?
Great video, sounded good, i think that should be a std part of any of your reviews is to add a od or boost on it. Maybe a few different ones to see what sounds you get. Merry Christmas
I just use it with the power stage and it sounds awesome haven't even tried it with a tube amp or in the loop yet... Very Versatile you can get a variety of sounds with it also I like the fact that it doesn't have a bypass like other pedals where the switches are just on and off
Cool video but the camera audio is really terrible. You can kinda tell but a sm57 on the cab or a really nice condenser in the room would have been nice.
@@louistorres ok thanks for the reply I’ve been thinking bout the KSR for awhile now, love how it has option for a clean channel when disengaged. Keep up the good work, Ps I’d love to spend a day on that room of yours!🎛🎛
Keeping it 100... It doesn't sound bad by any stretch, but it doesn't sound unique TO ME in the way a VH4 or Ceres does. Like... It doesn't seem to have it's own identity or tonal footprint based on what I'm hearing.
It's very much in line with most Peavey 5150 variants, which makes sense since James Brown designed it. I think it was an easy thing to do for him before selling the company to join EVH.
Omg, yes! 100% use a boost with a tube amp. Most of my amps are tube driven and I can't live without it. Some, like the Ceriatone Yeti or KSR Ares have such a great preamp section that you don't need a boost for them.
Hey, bro. I just bought this pedal used and I like it. Nothing beats a tube amp distortion from my peavey xxx, but I had a question. When you say use a boost pedal, do you find that the boost switch on it isn't enough or useless? Do you use it on top of having a boost pedal or even use it at all? I have a walrus audio eb 10 boost/eq preamp pedal, but it's not a traditional guitar boost like the ones you mentioned.
I always tell everyone to try whatever helps create the tone you love. I ended up selling this pedal bc it just didn't work for me and how I normally adjust my tone, whether it's a preamp pedal like my KSR Ceres, Kraken or various amps. :)
I have a few amps and when I'm testing pedals, I purposely make the amp sound thicker than usual. That way, 10,000 subscribers can hear how great boost pedals can be.
Something seems not right here. The original Tight Metal Pro and Big Rock Pro absolutely did not need boost support. I will say that they sounded better IN FRONT of clean amps.
I had a BRP and it sounded pretty killer in front of a solid state power amp. Not sure what they did with the new series, but the demos I've heard are kind of unimpressive.
@@austinfailz Original had the distortion circuit based off the Ampeg VH140C, real gainy old school solid state fucker, with the input mid boost added, as far as I know. The new one is supposed to be something like a solid state 5150, I think?... And while 5150 is a pretty damn brutal amp, no way is it as crazy in this regard as the Ampeg.
How would it do into a loop return? I would be boosting with a Fortin Grind into 100 watt DR. Thoughts? Happy with my live rig. Piecing together a stay in place practice rig.

I found with the Tight metal standard, the first one, putting a boost in front of it brought out the Ampeg VH 140c tone more.
