Ola, great comparison video. I would have liked to have seen the Diezel Herbert pedal in the comparison. I love mine, it sounds just like a Herbert head when running it through the power amp section of my Blackstar S1-100 tube head. Diezel on a budget. 🤘🏻
I’m still waiting on my Engl Powerball pedal... I pre-ordered, so it took a month to ship, and it finally ships, and now USPS should have delivered it on Saturday, but they are now officially a week late with no update on when it will be delivered... 🤬🤬🤬

Well, it’s supposed to be a clone of the tech 21 pedals, and it does it pretty well, watch some videos about the original sansamp models.
That thing does it all in my opinion, I recently made a diy copy of the original sansamp classic and it does it all, from mesa nirvana tones to marshall to even a slightly cranked ac30 or a slightly broken bassbreaker ahahahah

I agree. The muff is a muff- too fuzzy. The Engl is a cash grab. Boss are way better at modulation than distortion.
I’m a huge fan of clean power and pedal tone shaping. Used to run a Carvin Valvemaster 100, that had so much clean power, after throwing in KT77 tubes, i could never take it over 3, for fear of blowing my Marshall 1960b cab. Ran it with Skreddy Pedals overdrives and distortions, and it sounded great for the genre i was playing at the time. Almost like a hot rodded 800.
Pedalboards are way more fun than just having a one trick recto.

The Metal Muff has my favourite type of tone of all the pedals here, raw, old school, with big chugs, but the Behringer produced the best quality tone, and owning that pedal myself (as well as the Metal Muff) I can say that the Behringer can produce even better tones (it has 3 different amp / gain / mic modes)

Some people like the modern djenty sound, some people like old school chainsaw, at least I know where Ola is coming from. That's the problem with random comments. • @adamulc

Why don't you do both? Just try to make it chug in the clean channel (as most people would use a distortion pedal, I guess), and then plug it in the FX loop right after that in one single video. Or the other way around idk

More work but although a multi fx user I suppose they're both valid ways to use a pedal. I guess in front of the preamp would be the "right" way if one wants to use the clean channel on the amp.

Renato Domingues, well, he doesn’t have to do any work regarding making opinion videos about gear, right? I don’t see the Gestapo over there forcing anything on him. He can go drive a taxi instead.
If you’re going to make judgments about pedals, connect them both ways, and then give an opinion. There is no excuse of it’s “more work.” It would be “more work” to anesthetize you before removing your tonsils, but I’m sure you would insist upon it anyway.

@@Dr.Jekyll I'm not sure I'm getting your point, probably due to my so so english. Do you mean he should do the "complete" task or not at all? As a viewer I would prefer so, but it's not like I'm entitled to it. It's free content and there is more of it to explore, and not only on TH-cam.

@@rbdrbd I think the point is that instead of complaining "I can never win", he could just put in the extra effort of trying both methods. It's not exactly a ton of work to plug it in the clean channel, try it, and then plug it into the FX loop and do the same thing, when the recording rig and everything is set up anyway. Not that he _has_ to do anything, but seems that there would be a fairly simple solution to this issue.

I actually went out and bought a Behringer V-Tone after watching the first video you did. I use it for recording rough demos. I plug hit strait into my Focusrite scarlet interface through my DAW. I'm using Reaper but I prefer to track di to get clarity. But I don't like guitar plugins bc I don't like the flat tingy artificial guitar tone that most amp plugins have. So the V-Tone amp sim is perfect for what I'm doing. Like I said just for rough demos. I mic a EVH 5150 III 50w with a couple sm57's and a condensor mic when I track for finals. Surprisingly, there's not much of a difference in tone. Very pleased with it.

Also I think the top boost if you don't use it too much is good, I think it was just made for people that want some treble on the fly, or if you have like a harmony with 2 guitars and wanna make stand out the root note of the harmony you can use the top boost, or the other way around, to not make it sound muffled. Kinda like metallica does in some song, they make their harmonies sound extremely good.
