This is literally the most fun i've had all week, you're the best Mike! i can always rely on these archives for something entertaining to watch during these dark times. btw you should seriously play the Genesis version one day for a stream.
Almost 4 hours? I definitely know what I'll be doing for the next 4 hours, I'll be here listening to your beautiful voice. Don't tell Erin. It's just Mike and Jessie.
Dude, use your tongue repeatedly on the water. It fights the current. That way you won't fall. Well, and press up. As a kid I kept getting stuck at the ice level at the end. Of course before the internet I had no idea I was that close to the end.
Oh shit man...I haven`t seen this game since I was a kid playing it on me nes. Brought back so many memories, I completely forgot about it, this is why I follow you guys, thanks a lot man !
A few tips for your next playthrough: Nibbly-Pibblies (the balls) fill you up more depending on color. As Rattle (the orange snake), purple ones fill you the least, orange fill you double, while the yellow (fast) ones fill you triple. You need 4 purples-worth for Rattle to grow an extra segment. You need 4 segments for the Level 1 scale, 5 segments for the levels between 2-9 that have scales, and 6 segments for the Level 10 scale. 9:34 Use the shark to get this 1-UP (You'll need as many lives as you can get). 22:30 Don't bother eating any Nibbly-Pibblies on Level 4, you can just lure the final anvil to land on the scale and open the door for you instead. 58:56 Do whatever you can to get the snake-head! It is an extra continue (in other words, three extra lives). Even if you die to get it, you still get two extra lives. 58:31 Also the platforms in Level 7 spell out "Nintendo GameBoy", check it out! 1:35:05 In the Level 8 swimming section be careful not to despawn so many Nibbly-Pibblies, prioritize the ones that fill you up more (and remember, black ones are just yellow ones after a couple of licks).
Snake Rattle n Roll is a fun Rare game on NES! My cousin had it, and I use to borrow it from him here and there. Another fun Rare NES game is Cobra Triangle. Its like RC Pro AM in a boat. Except it isn't races with laps, its more levels that you have to make it from point A to point B, and power up your boat along the way. I owned it as a kid, and it took me a long time to be able to beat it!
Battletoads is a popular hard game, like Contra. They are many hard games out there for NES, some of them also are made by RARE. A good way to determine difficulty is look at TMR's NES Mania videos and see what games took him the longest, excluding RPG's. I believe he had major challenges with beating Cobra Triangle and Bump 'n' Jump.
Saw this at my dad's friend house 3 hours away from where we live. That Rare collection and cuphead was the sole reason for getting an xbox one. Works nice as a streaming box to hear youtube while gaming or watching twitch when playing in our fall guy crew. Just got 7 wins in fallguys.
@Ben DC4L It's called Sneaky Snakes, only played it for a few minutes some years ago so I dunno. It's a side-scroller but the gameplay is the same (eating balls).
@@rezterralico4369 Back then i got stuck in that level so many times, losing who knows how many lives. I managed only once to reach "final" level once (Well it seems it was actually second last level because this game seems to have 11 levels and final level is boss fight) but with last life i died pretty soon... Never once again reaching that level. Actually, today was my first time watching last level of this game and what was ending by checking someone's video and that's how i found out there was one more level...
I was more involved with writing the old episodes. I think around kid kool i started to taper off helping with that so I don’t know the later ones quite as well. However, I have always helped make the game choices and still do to this day. Check out the video about the Amiga CD 32 on Cinemassacre Plays. That goes a bit more into detail on my help with one of the newer ones. But basically once I started streaming more I decided to focus on that because I really enjoy streaming.
hey mike i hope you read this, i have a question. there was a video i watched on the Cinemassacre website called batman games but it was a video by you. it was a while ago but i can’t find it anywhere and i’ve been wanting to see it again. the video was great. thanks if anybody else reads this and knows what i’m talking about.
You can use the tongue while in the water to move better. You can eat the black fish, you just have to hit them multiple times. Always go for the continues (easier when you know to use tongue in water). Tongue should also help on the tricky slopes in the last levels. You have one more stage at the top of the mountain. If you play the Sega version, you have additional levels, and they are even harder. Also, the fish level is the BEST place to rack up points for continues for the last level. You should eat every last fish and push the time limit as close as you can. You should be doing this in every stage if you feel you need continues for the last level. You get a lot of bonus points for eating extras.
@@mikematei It's been forever since I last played it, but from what I can recall, the tongue basically keep you from sliding out of control by reducing your momentum when you repeatedly press it, which is really helpful on the later stages. I could possibly be wrong on this since it's been so long, but I do know it helps with the water. I used to play this game all the time back in the day, as well as the Sega version, since it had more stages (but the music sounds better on NES).
Brilliant! One of my favourites from childhood, a birthday present, I did eventually beat it but I mostly got to the moon or last level and died. It's a great two player game too
Played this game as a child, borrowed it from another kid in the neighborhood. I want this on my switch so bad, Nintendo gotta do something with the license issues.
This game is definitely in the Top 10 for music on NES. Level 2's tune is so good. Also Mike: on the fish level (Level 8), you can hit the black fish with your tongue three times to turn them yellow so they can be eaten. Would save you from the "all gone" deaths on that stage.
I just started watching this video and if i know Mike i know he's gonna love the music for this game, lol. He's a sucker for these catchy NES jiggles :P UPDATE: Well that didn't take long, a few mins in and he's already loving it LOL Mike your a nut!! You got me paying attention to video game music now..lol
It was great watching you improve on each play through and learn more about the game. You should try to get the big snake heads, they're extra continues. I had to go back and play this, like you said the last level is hell, especially after ice foot, you climb ice stairs and then must leap into a door floating on the wall, took me about 8 lifes. With more continues I think you could do it, I just finished it. At the end it says see you soon, Snakes in Space, but the game was never released

Gotga love the childhood kick back games. Great rock n roll soundtrack too. NES had a lot of capabilities that I dont think were fully explored.
Spend years of your childhood playing this frustrating ass game and see just how much you still like the music.
