The two quotes that absolutely make my heart burst are Karen saying "I thought you'd find someone else" and Ian saying "I didn't want anybody else" and then Will talking about brushing his teeth 8 times one day because he couldn't remember if he'd done it and ending with "looking on the positive side, my teeth were very clean!". Brain injuries are so complex and difficult and it's amazing to see people handling them with love and humor.

I burst into tears when she said Ian’s name during the vows! 🥲 I was sooo nervous for her- oh my goodness! What a meaningful wedding and love 💕 of a lifetime. Then Amy and Will - soo special - geez- I felt honored to be ‘attending’ these wedding- what wonderful people! I’m so incredibly inspired!
My husband had a brainstem stroke four months ago. He’s paralyzed on his right side, but has no cognitive deficits. One month ago, he went in for surgery on his carotid artery, which left his left vocal cord paralyzed. This “new” life has been difficult to navigate for us both-but it is SO worth the effort. My prayers and heart goes out to all of these couples. ❤️

My husband has a short term memory loss from a near fatal motorcycle accident. I met him after his injury and his family has told me that his personality changed after the accident. None of this matters to me. It takes longer for him to learn new concepts and he has trouble remembering things sometimes but his intellect is otherwise completely intact. We has are very happy together and we will be celebrating 23 years of marriage this year. 💗
Congratulations to all! May you each remember the most important thing in life. And that is you are all lucky enough to have and know unconditional love! Bravo!

What is sad is that for a brief time with covid, people saw what is most important about the wedding. Its not the big party. Now that things are returning to a level of normalcy, people dont see it anymore. The wedding isn't something that needs to be waited on. Its one thing, if like them, they had a disruption (so to speak) with unexpected health issues. However people wait unnecessarily long to marry. When you do wait too long, you can have unexpected things to happen. Waiting is not always the best idea. There is nothing to wait for.
Beautiful stories wish them happiness and joy only thing say supporters from stroke association should not wear clothing highlighting it especially if people want privacy
Our brains are WILD. P.S. Can someone please help Karen with brushing the back of her hair and maybe getting a new bra? She may like the way she looks a bit more, like with that first dress. She may stand a little straighter, a little taller. I know from experience. Those girls need support. And I think she'd like to know about the hair thing for real. She probably saw this episode herself, and cussed out all her people for not telling her.

Hate to be this one...if they can't express themselves fully how do we truly know what her wishes are. Went through it with my mother, I applied my agenda to what I thought she was saying. Was it correct? I have no idea 8 years later after her passing, I just hope I did the right thing. I think of it often and have some regrets
