    hello, my dear Sue
how good that you do this song
maybe I was one of who request these
It's my favourite of "Ring Ring" album, the first of the future ABBA
    "He is your brother"
is ABBA's second single in 1972 and first #1 in Radio Charts of Sweden, just almost 50 years!
In that 1972 year ABBA were not yet convinced of being a group, that is why They were called:
"Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni Frid",
with the girls more as their vocal support, because the ladies still continued hers solo careers
In their first songs there are several like that,
the guys sing one verse and the girls respond to him in the next, and They all share the chorus
Thus you can see the growth of the vocal harmony of Agnetha and Frida,
until they finally assumed the leadership of most of the songs
after the extraordinary worldwide hit with "Waterloo" at Eurovisión Song Contest in UK 1974
when They recorded this song Agnetha was already pregnant with her first daughter,
so there are probably no records of TV presentations like with their first song "People need love"
and after this success on Swedish radio, they were invited to participate in the Melodiefestivalen
    (the Swedish pre-selection for Eurovision)
and They will go as "Björn & Benny , Agnetha & Frida"
(with Agnetha in her 8th months pregnant) with their song "Ring Ring"
    "He is your brother"
was one of ABBA's favorite numbers (among their old songs)
Is the only song of their first album included in the memorable 1977 Australian tour
(The images were recorded for the film 'ABBA The Movie')
    "He is your brother"
in these live perfomance shows the girls dancing in the first chorus,
joining the choruses and taking the lead in the second verse with a lot of power,
ending with a spectacular chorus and Agnetha giving it her highest soprano note in the end
Specialy to see a great moment:
Agnetha & Benny singing together so clear and happy face to face
I see you in next video
GOD bless you and stay safe
    Best regards from
    Buenos Aires Argentina
    South America

Hello Eduardo, it is always a pleasure to chat with you and learn more about Abba. You are so well informed and I look forward to hearing new things about them. Thank you for that. It is hard to believe the women were initially support vocalists as they have made such a mark on the world singing and being the main faces of Abba. This is a fantastic song...truly a classic. Thank you my friend. Talk to you soon. Greetings as always from me here in Canada 😍

This clip is from ABBA THE MOVIE. If you get the chance you should watch it. It follows a reporter chasing ABBA around in Australia during their tour there. His boss told him he must get an interview and he keeps trying. Shows great concert clips as you can see here and how crazy the fans were in Australia even blocking their car and reaching in trying to get autographs. Great song and reaction.

a special comment, for the song and for the day
"He is your brother" has a peculiarity
when ABBA was invited to the Concert by UNICEF
at United Nations, January 9, 1979
all artists, in addition to singing and donating a song,
In the general presentation they do a fragment of a song
That series of fragments begins it
Bee Gees with "Children of the world"
and ABBA closes it with this chorus of "He is your brother"
    to which all artists join
The second thing I will say is that this "Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah" before the chorus is in my opinion the most powerful of all ABBA's "ah ah"
although the most beautiful is the melodic bridge in "Hole in your soul"
And the third thing is about today's date
here in Argentina it is still 10pm on February 8th,
but in Europe the new day has already begun, on February 9,
and it's very special for ABBA
because on February 9, 1974 in Stockholm
ABBA, and for the first time publicly as ABBA,
    competed at the Melodiefestivalen
and they won with their iconic Waterloo (in Swedish)
and thus they would become the representatives of Sweden
to go to Brighton UK on April 6 to compete in Eurovision
where the World Legend of ABBA would finally be born
Therefore, my suggestion is that you pay tribute to ABBA with their iconic performance at Eurovision, winning with Waterloo.
just as the world of music is going to honor them
at the ABBA Arena in London, on Swedish SVT Television,
probably at Eurovision 2024 held in Malmö Sweden
and in various museums and places such as Brighton UK and Waterloo Belgium

In fact, ABBA had not yet started as a stable quartet in 1972, only a couple of recordings.
and in fact, their official and iconic name only emerged at the end of 1973, during the recordings of the second album, "Waterloo."
which at the same time is the winner of Eurovision 1974 and ABBA's first Top 10 in the USA

As someone said: "You know a song is ABBA but you cannot name an ABBA song it is like!"
Benny said ABBA will not be getting together for Eurovision as he does not want to and if one does not want to that is it! It is up to the others to get him to change his mind. I think Benny's new album is another BAO one (must hear BAO!) I will be looking out for it and will let you know. Another good reaction.

Sue ,so many people( and reactors) enjoy the great music so that they often let the lyrics go over their heads, but I knew you wouldn’t . I hope this song helped so many people in the world have love for everyone . And I don’t remember this song on the US pop charts back then , never heard it until years later, just like “ People Need Love” . One would imagine that here in the U.S. people never heard ABBA until the hit “ Waterloo” because that was the first song from them I remember being played on the radio back in ‘74.

Hi Lovejazz, so great to hear from you again. Thank you for your kind words. I hope this song helped people as well...such a positive, inclusive song. It is too bad it wasn't released as a single in North America back in 72. It would have done well I am sure. But now people like myself get to hear it for the first time 50+ years later...love learning new to me stuff by amazing bands that came out back in the day. This song brings me joy 🤩💜

This live version from their 1977 Australian tour is definitely the best one that I've seen or heard ! .. It's a very good song anyway, but there's something extra special about this hugely joyful and energetic performance of it .. And I love to see them clearly showing how happy they were back then to be together and creating their magic on stage .. Great times !

Hi Sue, as you know I'm a big ABBA fan, so really enjoy it when you do the group. There early material was mixed in my view. They were still improving their English & perfecting their sound. As you say, the harmonies were already there. This definitely falls into one of their best early songs. The only song I can think they got their pronounciation wrong was Happy New Year, with the word "champaign".
