    Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.
    Anyway nice shirt.

    I have listened to Martin and Taylor Mini's for the short length and mid sounds. I like this, Because the scale is full length, the sound hole will affect the sound, the physics of the guitar. Thank You !

    For what it is it sounds great. It was never going to sound like a full size guitar. But for the right person and application it will work great. You can't compare apples with oranges. It sounds great based on what is there. Guitarists are just too damn picky. If you like the sound screw what other guitarists think.

    I have a cousin who took one on a multi-month hike of the Pacific Coast Trail, or whatever it is called, and loved it. But to me this sounds like a $50 guitar from China. But yesterday I ordered one of their new mandolins. I hope it sounds better. The old MIX carbon fiber mandolins sounded great, and that was fifteen years ago.

    I don't feel like it sounds much "worse" than the baby Taylor when you account for the size? I didn't like the Martin LX1 either, but even that had that Uke type sound, the dreadnought junior seemed the best all around travel guitar.

    • @TWhite-mq6uf
      @TWhite-mq6uf 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree completely. I bought one on Kickstarter and kind of regret selling it. Definitely sounds better than my Baby Taylor and the Little Martins I've tried. Plus, friends love the look. Too expensive though. I'd buy a few of them if they were around $300-$350, but $600+? No thanks.

  • @rmzzz76
    @rmzzz76 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    It's not for me. My GS Mini sounds a lot fuller, granted a bit more susceptible to humidity and much less durable but I'll take a high quality laminate over carbon fiber any day on tone. I'm not a fan of Rainsong guitars either so this is not a stab at this vendor. Also worth noting: I cherry picked about a dozen commentors and did some click-through research on their other youtube comments, It appears someone used a "pay for likes" service to give this video a boost. Pretty common form of marketing these days, but be aware. If you care about this sort of manipulation. I'm not going to down vote it because I think there is a niche for a carbon fiber travel at this price point.

      Honestly was wondering this as well, although in my opinion there is absolutely no competition between the tones of these two guitars.
      That being said, the Journey is double the money, comes with a way better travel case, but also doesn't have the dual wood-composite design like this one does. In theory, shouldn't this render the KLOS more vulnerable to typical wood/climate problems in contrast to the Journey? But then again the body of the KLOS seems smaller which lends it to being more friendly for travel..
      Might be a really good comparison/review video idea??

      I've owned both and the Lava Me definitely sounds vastly superior to this piece of junk. The only selling point is the extreme portability when traveling. Otherwise, you'd be better off with a $100 Yamaha. It's garbage.

      @@gemininimeg I've owned both of those brands and actually thought the Emerald sounded worst by far. If I were choosing a guitar purely as a non-wooden instrument with the best tone, it would be a BlackBird or Rainsong.
      The Lavas aren't meant to compete with full-carbon models in terms of tone, as they're created from a blend. However, they still sound vastly superior to KLOS and despite being a Chinese brand, somehow manage to have better customer service.

    I’ve been fiddling around on guitar for a number of years now, but have finally decided to get serious. I am interested in buying a decent entry- or intermediate-level acoustic guitar. I think I’ve narrowed it down to either the Klos travel guitar from this video, or one of the Orangewood guitars, probably the mahogany Morgan. I have watched both of your videos on these guitars, but can’t really get a sense of how they would compare to each other. I expect that the Orangewood probably sounds a little better, but as a beginner, I feel like playability might be the most important feature, so I don’t struggle and get frustrated. How do the two compare with respect to playability? I am intrigued by the portability of the Klos, as I do travel a lot, and I might be willing to sacrifice a little sound quality to get it - as long as the playability is still good. If you were me, which would you choose? Or is there a third option I should be aware of? Thanks!

      If your really serious buy a Taylor or Martin. It will improve your playing a lot. Don't buy a carbon guitar as your first real guitar it won't sounds as good as wood! Don't be scared to spend the extra dollar. You won't regret it especially if you buy a taylor or martin which hold their value.

    Just like to say how much I enjoy your videos, keep up the great work. I've been looking for an acoustic guitar with a 1-5/8 at the nut neck, due to having a hand that is messed up. I've been
    thinking that they are making a lot of carbon fibre guitars now, it's about time they made one with a smaller neck, it would fit in really well for those of us that have smaller hands or an injured hand. Being carbon fibre, they should be stronger than wood. Have a great day!

    One of my favourite guitars I've had the pleasure to play, was a Lowden. I can't remember the model number, I was absolutely flabbergasted! I enjoy your videos and commitment. I've played professionally on and off over twenty years, there's something beautiful about the evolution of acoustic guitar . I love the way James Taylor plays , his humility, and regard his playing style unique ,I saw him live playing his Olsen in Åhus music Center, in Denmark 5 years ago. I Also like the way he tunes his strings!Thanks for your advice and dedication.

      Thanks so much Brett!!! You brought up two guitar brands that I have lusted after for quite some time... Lowden and Olsen. I have had a chance to play one Lowden before and never an Olson. They are both on my list to review for certain :-) Cheers and thanks again!!!

    Sounds good ,but aren't guitar sound and tone A very subjective thing. After all what makes one guitar rock star choose one make and some other guitar rock star choose another. I've always wondered.

    Horrible boxy sound as expected, but for a sturdy travel guitar it's ideal. If the pick up is decent on the semi acoustic version then it wont matter as much I suppose.

    Hey Tony, I'm a professional carpenter and joiner, I'm no pro regarding being a guitar Luther even though I set up a lot of acoustic guitars I really can tell you're the real deal!
    I'm not appealing for your sympathy, I've leukemia and can't work full-time in construction! It'll kill me,
    Yet I like yourself love to work with beautiful guitars, My journey man was a ships joiner who taught me the value of closing my mouth ,opening My eyes and ears!
    He was a bass player in a new Orleans jazz band , and a very temperamental Scottish man who I admire still to this day!
    I'm not stalking you ! I believe in doing the things you love in life ! I've seen a lot of youtube saw called guitar experts?
    But I as I said earlier I find you not only earnest, but also polite and tutorial!
    Please may I ask your advice in regards to best simple pickup systems , and also best method in regards to polishing frets? I get quite nervous in regards to various methods.
    Finally I play acoustic guitars ,I tune 432, of course when playing with other musicians it's 440! I find something naturally invigorating when playing 432 Hz.
    Thanks again for your reviews.

      Thank you for your kind words Brett!!! We are sending you good vibes from TAC headquarters and wishing you the best!!! As for simple pickup systems I like the DiMarzio Black Angel for a soundhole pickup, as well as the Sunrise soundhole pickup. If you are looking for something even more simple Schertler makes a pickup called the Basik and it is a surface mount pickup. The results are ok, but it is by far the easiest to install and use. I hope that helps :-)
      Cheers,
      Tony

    why is it no one ever talks about neck size or string height just plain ease of playing.

    • @krustybuzzard2477
      @krustybuzzard2477 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's what I look at most when I'm looking at a new fiddle.

    • @TOCS94
      @TOCS94 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      String height is very much a subjective matter as it's up to the individual player to decide the kind of string height one wants. Using string height as a selling point may therefore not be a good means of marketing as it's simply too much a matter of opinion.

    • @krustybuzzard2477

      OK just thought it might be helpful to know what it played like and how the neck feels.

      Sungodv I’m not sure if the Klos Travel Guitar he got came with the carbon graphite stiffening rods, this video was 2016, and the stiffening rods feature are offered 2017 or 2018 as an add-on.

    Review a LAVA ME 2 guitar. Awesome guitar. It makes the KLOS guitar sounds like PeeWee Hermans toy guitar! A LAVA ME 2 guitar is almost the same size and has a built in amplifier. It's all carbon fiber like the KLOS, but with special hidden features. MUCH MORE BETTERS THAN THE KLOS!

    I mean it doesn't sound very good let's be honest. The carbon fiber won't resonate like wood does. It's evident in the low notes. Sounds muted and dull.

    I think it has the durability and the portability that would you expect, however the sound is very cheap and not balanced at all. I have a cheap guitar, the same size as this, that sounds better.
