Hi Aaron, thanks for the great review, I'm the design engineer and head luthier of all the KLOS instruments. I'm glad you like the neck profile, I put a ton of time into that design, to make it slim and easy playing, so I'm glad you noticed!! We plek every instrument, which helps achieve incredible action, and afterwords we re-sand and polish every fret, I will talk to the guys to tighten the control on that asap. As well with the battery and wires moving around!

Nice to see the review. Been looking at their stuff for months, particularly the grand cutaway and 12 string. I was planning to get the anthem in both but might go for the k&k and just use external preamp. I'll probably request the stainless frets as well. Really makes more sense on a pre pleked and setup instrument such as this.

The full size guitar should have stainless frets in a few months as standard. Let us know if you get one and if the frets are polished on yours.

I would get a regular acoustic bag to carry around when not needing to take the neck off all the time. I’m sold!!!! SS frets are worth it.

Great review, I'm surprised to hear of your issues. I have the Larger Grande Cutaway, and I will tell you they have the best fret job on any of my 20 guitars. Which include my Martin D-28, Larrivee OM-10, 2 Gibson Les Paul's, Strats,, Teles ect.. The Grande Cutaway has a superb neck like yours and big sound, superb projection, more bass, plays like butter. It is now my every day guitar. I highly recommend getting one.

They have offered to send another one for a re-review. Maybe I just got unlucky with this one.

@@aaronshortmusic Excellent. Stainless Steel is a lot harder metal, maybe that one slipped through?

I really liked the feel of the Stratocaster style replacement neck Klos makes. Tempted to try it on my Player Strat, but I really like the roasted maple neck Sweetwater spec’d.

I think it would be worth it just to get the stainless frets on the Klos neck.

I have the GC Mini and also the larger GC, both with Anthems. I love them both, haven't noticed rough frets. I hope I'll be able to get a neck with stainless frets for my Grand Cutaway at some point in the future!

Thank you for the comment. It’s good to hear yours were both fine. Hopefully I can try another one in the near future.

Would love to see/hear the 12 string! I wonder if it will handle a pair of 6 strings (no octaves). But this one sounds amazing! I am really looking forward to buy one, but not sure if a 6 or 12 🤔

I like what they are doing but there were too many quality control issues with the two guitars they sent me. They were going to send another and then never did. I can’t recommend them at this time.

Really up for one of the dreads or the full size grand cutaway for a more balances acoustic sound, but if it does not have stainless steel, I'd rather buy the hybrid ones and later take to a luthier for refretting when it is due. Tried one of the travel size dreads and the overall experience and plugged sound was very nice, but the acoustic sound is obviously lacking as it is not the main selling point for that one.

I actually liked the sound of the 3/4 size guitar but the QC was not there for me. I agree that the Dreadnoughts also need to have the stainless frets.

Might actually consider this one without a pickup and later install a rare earth mic blend by your suggestions here. Just wanting one that stands to time and the elements and has a fair to great balanced acoustic sound for at home use also. What are your suggestions good sir? The travel dread is actually smaller than this one btw, which could explain to me why this definitely sounds better.

Check out the OF660 by Journey. I think the neck attachment mechanism is better. I’ll bet it’s way more expensive though.

I haven’t tried those but they are noticeably heavier based on the Sweetwater listings.

Oooh. Must be me but I just couldn't go through all that. Great demo.. sounds nice. Why K and K on occasion?

    • @aaronshortmusic
      @aaronshortmusic  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yeah I hope they can get those things dialed in better. I have tired K&K’s in 5 different guitars and just found I needed a lot of outboard gear. I think it may be a good match for this particular guitar. I’d have to try it to be sure.
