THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I've been doing this for a while now and I'm embarrassed to admit this...but I have been confused on the difference of doubled die and a double die. Until YOU explained it clearly. Thank you.

Hello Danial I am playing catch up on your video's. This one is the clearest explanation of double die and strike doubling I have seen and cleared up the difference thank you.
Well Dan, thank you for the explanation on double dies. I own one, or at least I thought I did. That's until I listened to you here. Turns out the one I own is actually strike doubling, and not a double die. Thank you my friend for your time and effort. Your very much appreciated out here in the world Danny boy! We just love you in the Bronx, N.Y., and life just wouldn't be the same without you on line. Take care partner, and, God Bless you and yours!
Thank you so much. I'm just getting into this new hobby of mine and kept asking myself why I seem to keep finding all theses double die coins. I now know from watching your videos that what I seeing aren't double die striking but instead the flat scratchings. Can't remember exactly what you referred them to but still quite helpful. If you keep the videos coming I'll keep watching lol. Thanks again.
Good afternoon Daniel. Thank you for explaining the difference between mechanical & true doubled die. Have found many coins exhibiting strike doubling & this video just made it much easier for me to decided if any of them are true doubled die. Will be putting them under the scope again to find out. Have a wonderful rest of your day & keep your videos coming i learn something new every time.

Thanks for the close up comparison & explanation on these...most helpful!!
These are not S/D the US mint kept strict records where these dies went to prevent counterfeit using these dies. Plus the Mint thought all these coins were counterfeiter at first and confiscated them until they realized otherwise. So no way would any S/D not be noticed.
