Your recommendation for the sponge is absolutely spot on. This sponge works best of anything I've ever used for applying tire dressing. Keep up the great work and great videos.

I obtained the turtleback grout sponge and you are 1000% correct. Fantastic tool to apply tire dressing. Fits the hand well. Just the right feel of the sponge. Simply the best tool to use.

I completely agree with this video on the applicator pad. By far the most user friendly tire applicator dressing pad I've used!
Darren my friend, you can get those sponges in Home Depot or Lowe's in the tile and grout section reasonably.

I'm going to get that sponge soon. Thinking for these videos. A tip if you are doing big 4x4 tires and u want to use tire dressing is to put dressing on a brush and putting it into the grooves. it saves lots of time, helps with the life of ur sponge.
I've got some of those (expensive) typical dressing applicators and just after 1 day and 6 cars at the golf club the foam has already started to separate! I'll check out those grout sponges next, thanks again Darren

Darren, great video.. I ordered a few of these sponges and can't wait to give them a try. Q: you say you get yours wet and ring it out before applying product. What do you do with the sponge when your done useing it? Do you wash it out and let it air dry? Just throw it in a baggie the way it is and re-use when needed? Just curious if the sponge would get moldy if I put it in a zip lock when done still wet. Thanks, Keep up the fantastic work.

Creative Monster alot of their products are the same....i have a buddy that use to work for them when they were in the city of gardena and he said some of the products and soaps are the same they just change the name, color and smells

I must try this applicator.
For tire dressings I use Adam's Dressing Applicator , a simple square block that works but these are easy to find around where I live.
We go through many of them being we detail so many cars each week.
I now use a spray gun that you use to paint cars.
Works like a dream, we do many cars each day at my shop, I spray the Meguiars Hyper dressing cut on all of the cars once washed and dried.
Darren, i love your passion and knowledge. You provide great detailing information consistently. Only complaint, like you have said.. you drone on and on and on about minutia & it really detracts from the great info you provide. You can explain things without explaining everything possible about it... sum things up. But what do I know, you're the detailing expert. Keep up the info, shorten it up! -Brian
Love your vids Darren, Do you rinse your sponge out after every tire or do all 4 then rinse ? Seems after each tire theres more dressing to produce sling , any info will help

Detail King sells a black covered sponge that works great, all other applicators suck. Detail King shipping charges are outrageous so I'm switching to this sponge. Thanks for the tip..

Darren in this video your talking about Chemical guys "VLP" the gallon of Chemical guys "New Car Shine" looks simmilar are they interchangeable?
I'm not a fan of using sponges for tire dressings. Personally I've been using a normal microfiber wax applicator that I leave soaking in dressing in a square plastic container from the dollar tree. Simply wring out as much excess dressing into the container before applying to the tires. Easy as can be, can be applied easier in windy conditions, applicators don't break down like sponges & you don't have that annoying noise/vibration normally encountered when running a typical sponge over tires. That sound always got to me like nails down a chalk board. Maybe that's just me though?
geargrndr me also...I can't stand that sound but chalkboards don't affect me lol.

Darren, what are your thoughts about after wash products. Those being the products you spray on the vehicle while it is still wet, to assist in a scratch free dry?

how do you wash cars darren? do you use soap and a bucket or some type or waterless/rinseless
myself i use garry dean/ONR
if you use waterless/rinseless have a look into garry dean you can seal and wash in one step :D

Darren I know this probably sounds crazy but how effective do you think a toilet bowl brush would be at cleaning wheels??
+Skylar Buttecali Based on the toilet bowl cleaners I have seen, they are too aggressive with their stiff bristles. But keep thinking outta' that box. I have considered those myself until I felt how stiff they are.
What can I use to clean chrome rims? I have been using Turtle Wax chrome wheel cleaner?

I tried for the first time Chem Guys VPR nice low luster....
Did not drive the car....
Next day rain all day! Almost NO evidence of a dressing left the next day.
Does that sound typical to you?
unfortunately VRP is water based so itll wash off easier...look up Chemical guys Tire and trim gel

+Paul Rhodes Yes due to the thick consistency of the VRP. But I use it un-diluted with water for tires, but if you diluted or cut it down with water, then the sprayer would be my choice.

I haven't tried the one on your site but I did try one on Jet.com made by acme. All I can say is that I hate it. It completely shreds on anything that is not smooth on the tire like lettering. I cannot compare or give my opinion on this one yet since I never tried it. So if you are gonna buy one make sure it is the one from the link on his site.
Paper towel with dawn great on windshield wipe off,clay, then use glass cleaner

LOL, that is what I am using because I never got around to buying the tire sponge.
No applicator for me - I use the Meguiars Insane Shine aerosol - love it. (yes I apply it often, and it's not cost effective, but I don't care)
that gap in the tyre I'm sure your know Darren is called a rim protector, I personally don't buy tyres without them, otherwise youre alloys will easy get wrecked.

They sound perfect and I listen through high end earphones. Echo is to be expected given you are in a garage with a concrete floor. Thank you for all of the information you provide in each video.

I using Google Chrome with Adblock couldn't see any line on that page, then I figured probable Adblock block all of the link, so I switch to use IE to open that page then I can see all the link on the page. Hope it's help for you

oh yeah, in response to other comments from observers. It's all in the details! The more info, the "better".
Why not buy 5 gallon hyper dressing u use a lot of gallon product go for the 5 gallon I have the same hyper dressing but in a 5 gallon
I just use those dishwashing sponges and throw them after each use.
Go to homedepot like 1 dollar or so👍✌
A paint brush works better to apply tire dressing.
