Some pigeon lover fall a great problems that is "How to hand feed a baby pigeon" In this pigeon video, i am going to share my great ways to hand feeding baby pigeon.
I think you may find interest in this video. In this pigeon feeding guide, i used:
1. Cloth/T-Shirt: I used T-shirt to hand feed my baby pigeon.
2. Plastic bottle: I used plastic bottle pigeon feeder for feeding my baby pigeon.
3. Funnel: Funnel is not a right way but, you can feed your pigeon using it. But make sure food is wet, so that it could be easy for your birds.
4. Cigarette cover: I am using Cigarette cover for making a baby pigeon feeder. You can use any paper like that.
Finally, a pigeon lover can feed using any way he loved. It is best for hand feed a baby racing homing pigeon, hand feed a baby roller pigeon, hand feed a baby high flying pigeon, kabootar, sherazi kabootar, lathe kabootar, kabootar ki pehchan, Achey kabootar ki pehchan, lahore pigeons, qasori pigeons, sialkoti pigeons, indian pigeons, madrasi pigeons, golden kabootar, teddy kabootar, chatri waley kabootar, kabootar bazi, ustad nadeem k kabootar, nadeem pigeons, Pigeons Lovers, Pakistani Pigeons and certainly all kinds of fantail pigeon.

Found a bird (initially thought robin, later found out pigeon baby)... it was so cold in the rainy floor..... It helped BEST if they are placed in a DARK room (ideally on a tray with fluffy soft old cotton cloths to keep them warm + a small plastic BOTTLE filled with WARM WATER and wrapped in cloth so they can snuggle up near its warmth) they fall asleep within 10-15 mins & can safely recover for 1 day and then regular day cycle, in a quite corner (like store room). Also ideal to feed them CERELAC liquid food with a 1-2 mm piercing in a glove/baloon streched onto a plastic bottle, then they open mouth & EASILY EAT AS MUCH AS THEY NEED (usually 5-10 ml in one go).... Some pigeons laid eggs and when it hached the parents never came so imm taking care of it this helped ♥️

My son used to feed orphaned pigeons by putting the feed into his own mouth, and inserting the little baby's beak between his lips. This was so much like its natural way of feeding that the baby would open its beak, and my son could push food in with his tongue.

they got very soft beak (nose), it so easy to damage it, it better to push food with plastic pipe (for drinks), beak inside pipe, avoid opening beak witch is too soft
Thanks for the help the sock trick worked like a charm . I was looking at other methods and they all seemed abit overboard. But soon as the little guy knew what was going on he just kept eating 🤣
hopefully he gets well I found him and his sibling fallen out of a tree nest in bits, one died from its injuries later on but this one seems all cherpy after a day or two of silence.
I used to feed them with no tools. Left hand you hold it and hold is head then open it’s mouth with the right hand then keep it open with the left hand index and thumb fingers then put the grains with the right hand fingers, very easy and effective. Still looking for a video which this method and no luck 🤷♂️

Hi, I have concerns about how you included the first method. It would be better if you had put special instructions like "Only for this age/stage" but I really wouldn't recommend it in general.
If people had tried that on hatchlings it would end up very badly, worst case scenario; choking and death.
They have soft beaks when they're young and shouldn't reccomandably eating seeds until they learn to eat by themselves.
The last one was very genius keep up the good work! ❤️

*There is a 5 days old baby pigeon in my house.and his mother pigeon is not coming back from last 2 days. Now what type of food we can give him ? He is not able to eat anything on his own.
Feed liquid food like cerlax and manava health mix
Small birds need the most protein when they're babies. I suggest pate puppy food mixed with purified or spring water and stir it until it is a puree with liquid consistency, like a Suet form. Use a small straw or medicine dropper to feed the bird. Give the bird to drink only small amount of this suet mixture of the watered puppy food , a little bit at a time. Be careful cause shoving it down the throat can drown the bird because the mixture can go into the lungs or get stuck or compacted in the throat. Slowly massage the beak to stimulate feeding encouragement. If you play a verbal cooing pigeon sound from a you tube video, this helps the bird greatly.This is how I have done it. Feed small babies every hour starting from 6 AM just like the mom would be doing early start of the early rising.This is crucial to their survival. Dont force feed but let them have the protein water from the food in their system so they can at least be hydrated. Be careful cause sometimes if you give it the liquid food to drink , it can go into the small openings of their beak nostrils and they will drown. When feeding you must have patience. So from 6 AM till through out the day , the baby should be hand fed small amount of the suet mixture until about 1 month old when it should be old enough to eat on it's own. At about 7 or 8PM in the Evening there should be no more feedingtime and the bird should be inside a well ventilated box with small holes openings on the box and cover the box to imitate that it is night time and it needs to sleep till 6 AM for feeding the next rising day. All birds rest for the night outside when it starts getting dark so this is no different.Make sure it is quiet & peaceful when its sleep time for birds otherwise it disturbs their pattern and growth. When it can walk on its own and peck , then introduce it to small finch and canary food thats available at pet shops. Calling a wildlife rehabilitation center in your area is best if you feel this is to much to handle But it will be your responsibility to take the bird to them since they nurse and release it back to its habitat or outdoors. Remember that pigeons as well as birds can carry sicknesses/ disease as they are not vaccinated, So thoroughly wash good your hands.

I'm so sorry to hear that, I was just about to comment how the first method is very harmful. Pigeons are supposed to be fed special milk by their parents and we can usually substitute that with very wet foods.

I am not a vet nor very experienced, but I’ve never had a pigeon choke or aspirate.

@Techrobberz Gaming Open it’s mouth for it and hold it open. Squeeze it slightly and try to push your fingernail between the beak. Hold it open and push the food item in. If it feeds at least once, you can try the bottle method- start with a ground seed smoothie. It’s closest to what they get outside. Make sure it’s in a quiet room and warm so it doesn’t have to spend extra energy on body heat. Cover whatever you have it in with a towel or sheet so it’s dark.
@Techrobberz Gaming Baby pigeons don’t open their mouths on their own, try to push a soaked seed or thawed pea to the back of its throat. Push farther back as you can if the pigeon rejects it- at least past where it’s beak starts. Figure out as much as you can without stressing it- body condition, etc. There are a couple good resources online. I hope I’m not too late.
You can also used soaked non-medicated chick feed, but you’d need to syringe feed. Also offer seeds in a dish- if it’s almost one month it should be developing pecking instincts.

I have also raised pigeons very well on microwaved store bought peas, sweet corn or soaked chick crumbles will also work in a pinch. I am here if you have any more questions. If you have a baby pigeon and it won’t eat like this, try pushing the food item to the back of their throat.
