I did almost the exact same "gasket" mod, but for RK84. I use Zip-N-Fit liner instead of felt for the case foam, 4mm neoprene foam with double sided adhesive for the gasket/pcb-to-plate foam, not a single screw used and it holds the keyboard pretty well. Using lubed Akko CS Lavender Purples with Akko Neon ASA keycaps and I'm loving the clacky and thocky sound profile it creates. RK makes some banger board!

This keyboard sounds and looks really nice.. And even though one can't even see the mods after the case is closed you applied them with such precision (I probably wouldn't have the patience haha). I was just wondering though, did you srew the board in afterwards or did you leave the screws for the stand-offs out?
Thank you for appreciating! My job have taught me overwhelming patience. I’m a craftsman and a multimedia designer so that sums all up. There are no screws mahboi i did not put back the screws for the pcb to plate too. It’s a bakeneko-inspired build.
It turns out the stock frame actually pushes down the plate and makes it stiffer. Less flex. Also changes the sound to a bad one imo. Someone did a mod on the plate on fb group where they trimmed off the part of the frame that pushes the plate and it's way better!
I was really sad after finding out that there's a version of my keyboard with a removeable case and 2.4Ghz wireless. (I got the bluetooth one with no removeable case)
@@vincejet The rk61 is a 60 percent keyboard while the RKG68 is a 65 percent. Essentially the RKG68 has separate arrow keys while the rk61 has to use a shortcut where you have it hold on while pressing the keys.
Im more surprised about the fact that they found and bought a hot swappable rgb rk g68 in the Philippines. Im out here still scouring the internet for an available one lollll
If you aim for a deeper tone you need a thicker tape. Actually you can use painters/masking/washi tapes with multiple layers but that’s time consuming and a bit messy. I preferred 1 layer of gaff tape to make it look clean
Did covering the battery with felt cause any overheating/fire? Cause some other YTers who has covered it with felt/dampening material said that theirs almost caught on fire due to covering it

Boss is it really necessary to screw the pcb to the plate? Can I just leave it off like you did and screw the plate to the case? I'm doing the O ring mount mod and still feels stiff maybe it's the pcb screws
You can try not screwing all of them. Maybe 4 screws at the sides. If you’re doing my mod maybe you can try clipping the stand offs as I did to the zeta61. I might try trimming the plate stand off for the pcb too. So it will be free as a bird. Flexin while typing.
Hi! I'm planning to mod my RKG68 however I'm wondering if there's a difference between a lubed/clipped/modded stock stabilizer vs a lubed/clipped/modded Everglide/Durock stabilizer?
actually you can achieve a good sounding stabilizer with a stock one they are the same with the same parts. They differ in the smoothness in material, the fitting of the housing on the plate. If you can mod a stock one it will still give you the same result.

Can you use the keyboard wired and wireless at same time? For example, wired connected to PC and bluetooth to laptop? Or Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz Wireless? Thanks!
@@pusakalmkb Well, logitech mx keys has a usb wireless dongle and bluetooth like this keyboard, but after you pair devices you just have to press a key and switches between PC and laptop, even there are two types of connections. With this keyboard it looks like I have to use the switch underneath keyboard and wait for bluetooth connection, afterwards I can switch only between bluetooth devices. And I think if it is wired and I also switch to bluetooth, it can't be used in wired mode anymore, just bluetooth. I would like to know if it has same options like logitech mx keys for switching between macbook witch is bluetooth mode and PC witch is in wired or 2.4GHz wireless mode.

yeah the stock one sounds flimsy, that's why we used the 3d printed one, and lesser flex on tactiles is better :)

Just buy a 3.5-4mm eva foam and turn it to strips. Much better if you find something with adhesive.

5:25 is removing the pcb without removing the switches a crucial part? Can i just do it the old fashioned way and remove the switches one by one
He's comfortable that way but removing the switches beforehand is safer

When should one replace the tape used for tape mod? I have read that in time the adhesive will melt.
Haven't tried changing it tho, but it must still be easy to change if you find a difference in sound.

G68 is the newer version released 2021. Be careful on buying a lot are selling the rk68 in g68 price.
