    The 350 to 400whp range is very accurate on pretty much all of these newer diesel trucks with a badic tow file. I get a kick outa guys that think they put a tuner on now they have a 600 to 650whp truck. 80 percent of the guys that own these trucks couldn't handle a 600whp truck . Guys dont realize that it may be rated for "450"hp but thats at the crank. A 450hp stock truck puts down if its lucky 300 to 325 on the rollers. Dynos definitely hurt feelings 😂.

    It’s straight physics. A wheel/tire that’s heavier and/or bigger in diameter takes more energy to accelerate. It’s basically just a flywheel. Aluminum weighs more than air and rubber of a tire.
    When you’re accelerating the mass of the truck it isn’t as big of a deal though. Gets exaggerated with the dyno since you’re directly measuring how quickly it can spin up a mass.

    I would like to say, a clean burn is a great tune. Some diesel owners think a lot of smoke is making power, in actuality smoke is power left on the table. So many young tuners are figuring this out. Older tuners still want smoke and that is why in some stated its illegal to tune or delete, because of the smoke tunes. Also that cummins can spin a lot more then 3k, set it to RPM to 4k, if stock head bolts. Upgrade heads then turn 5k. MASSIVE power gains.

    May get a more accurate read with running the load at around 40% for tuned trucks. I know with trucks making 1300+hp we typically like the load set to 60%. The 6th gear pull will be close to accurate but even with a tune if the derate isnt turned off to save the trans it wont make as much power as it really should. The derate is ridiculous on those trucks. Even in stock form the trucks make to much power to put through the stock trans. Billet shafts and triple disc converter and remove the derate and those trucks are animals. Great Vid tho.

    The reason for this is not the size of the mag, its the amount of rubber. The original tires have more rubber to bend and twist and can transfer the force better on the road.
    Same thing as why drag cars have huge rubbers and are a bit deflated. To give more grio. It transfer the force.
    If you had big rims but with bigger and softer rubbers, you would keep the torque/hp difference.
    I think.

    So this is an extremely interesting video and I love the fact you are testing.
    Mathematics, specifically physics, talk about a lot of things, including rotational inertia, rolling resistance, weight distribution from center, and a shit ton of other variables.
    In order for you to "scientifically" test this, you really should be finding the same rubber, same load rating, and the same diameter, but not the same rim size.
    Kind of insane to say, but weight distribution per corner (let's say 75# to be safe) doesn't even begin to explain the rest of the variables between the vehicle.
    Comparison videos are the best way to complete, but if you have the time (and) the money, your best results using scientific method would be to test the same rim size with larger tires each run, then change rim size, etc etc.
    There's so much shit that goes into this, it's kind of insane. I hope you continue to post and learn, because this is awesome information for thousands of people.

  • @josephburleton9758
    @josephburleton9758 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    You don't 'lose' any horsepower or torque. It just takes more torque to get a larger wheel and tire moving. You also have increased rolling resistance and increased resistance from the air in a lifted truck so it's going to take more power to get you moving and keep you moving. This is why an increase in tire size often requires a change in gear ratio.

    You don't lose any horsepower when you put bigger wheels on. You just make those horses work harder.

    you need to put all the load on the dino to make Power with a diesel try starting off at 1800 RPM

    • @darkirondiesel
      @darkirondiesel  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That is just simply incorrect, typically with a 1000hp truck you load the dyno at 35-40% as long as your building max boost then your load is fine

    10% seems about right.
    I wish i could get access to a dyno. On top of all the real reasons I would use it, I would test the Banks air horn vs a stock one cuz no one else will.
    Not sure if its yours, but if so you should troll My Banks. Man owns a dyno but wont test his horn. Probably because the difference is with in the variable between runs.
    Any ways the horn is useful for the water meth ports and is pretty, but this guy throws alot of shade on us tuners.

    • @darkirondiesel
      @darkirondiesel  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Oh I’m 100% going to test all these companies wild claims for HP gains. I bet there is zero difference with the banks intake horn. Can’t wait for them to come crying to me about how I didn’t do a proper dyno test or some BS like that 😂

    • @ChannelZeroOne
      @ChannelZeroOne หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@darkirondiesel I cant wait. We might be surprised, btu I doubt it, cuz the man has a dyno. He has made mulple vids attempting throwing shade on doubters, but has yet to do a back to back.
      I figure at stock power level with just a horn swap might not do anything if at all, but I am also curious how it would do on a truck like mine with 60k in upgrades with just a horn swap.
      On another note, bank has a tuner called automind. I had decent results with that other than the rpm was still limited to 3200 and 110 mph.
      Lover your channel. Keep posting.

      As long as you are building the same amount of boost on the dyno as you do on the road the load is set high enough, at least that’s what I was told
