@5:20 While in some programming contexts you would be correct, in MIDI, MSB and LSB mean Most (and Least) Significant _Byte._ You also don't say _which_ MSB and LSB those are for, since there are several in the MIDI spec. In this case, since you are associating them with a Program Change command, they are probably Bank Select MSB and Bank Select LSB.
The Midi Maestro is one of my main tool on my pedal board BUT the outdated UI of this app and its lack of quality of life features makes it a chore to use. It would be so great to see : 1) the ability to swap pages (eg: what if you want to switch page 1 and 2, well, you have to redo everything) 2) being able to directly edit commands from the button menu (instead of making commands separately, then assign them to a button in another place and go back and forth each time) 3) being able to export or backup your setup LOCALLY even if "this mode does not belong to you". I never got that to be honest. What if my phone craches or if I just want to share my setup with a friend ? Something missing on the midi maestro is also the ability to long press a button. On the Midi Mastro you have 6 buttons. On the Aeros you have 6 tracks. Meaning that to only be able to go back in your menu, you have to sacrifice a button to do so, losing the control on one of your track/parts. It would be so great to have a long press, being able to use all 6 buttons to control tracks, assigning a long press to the last one to go back or to go "home" in your menu.
The Morningstar MC-6 isn't as pretty, but it's cheaper ($229 US) and more flexible. It has Long Press and Double Tap, as well as USB MIDI and two EXP/Swtich inputs that can also be MIDI Outputs. If you spring for the Pro version ($349), you get a LOT more connectivity with a display that beats the Maestro and is easier to read.
Hallo, thans for the explanation. You use the midi maestro as a master to control the onsong app. I will operate the otter wat around. I have all my songs in the songbook pro app. With a cable I can send a midi signal to the beatbuddy to select the song drum pattern. Also it works with a bluetooth widi master. Also the fender tonemaster pro select good the song .So far so good. Now I buy the midi maestro in the hope I can connect also the midi maestro with bluetooth. I can't get it working. Question: can i connect songbook pro connect with the midi master and the beatbuddy so I can select a song in songbook pro. Theo from Holland
Hello Singular Sound! I love your products! I only have the beatbuddy pedal but I program all my songs and loops i really want to get the aeros for backing tracks:) I have a lot of Latin style beats, cumbia, tejano so fourth:) I hope one day you can hear them
@@SingularSoundOfficial cool!! I’m from uvalde tx, there’s a lot of Mexican regional, tejano, and cumbia out here, I’ve gotten a few friends to purchase a beat buddy cause they loved th way I have mine set up!
He mentions in the beginning of the video to check manuals for the CC Channel and Value mappings, so when he goes through certain parts of this video and then just picks a CC and Value and dosent say why, its because its matching the proper manuals mappings, just FYI to all.
Every time I try to call the phone number in Florida, I get a message that there is noboby to take the call. Why have a phone number? I recieved an order today and something was missing, my MIDI Maestro Gold Edition pedal. Where's the customer service? :(
@8:57 That's annoying. The firmware should know to do a soft reset right after receiving (and verifying) a new configuraiton. Having to power it off and on is really 2010 era stuff.
Excellent video!
Thanks Filipe!

Can you please tell me if you have a video on how you hook up and set up the Midi Maestro to control Beat Buddy and Aeros at the same time? :)
