Something I’ve learned in my personal life is that if you’re not enjoying something, just knowing the end is coming soon can help you through it. That feeling that it won’t always be bad, that something new and exciting is right there…it’s comforting and motivating.
regardless of what happens after this, you’ve been a formative influence on my life and i’m bloody grateful for the time you’ve put in thus far

celestial beings the cosmology of Pokémon, eh? making me think now.. i'd love to see these "giants" come in the form of a legion of Legendary Pokémon inspired by creatures seen in constellations, such as the bears of Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, the wolf of Sirius, and so on

I've been watching your channel for many years. My son is eight now and he has grown up watching your videos with me. Very excited for you to spread your wings and start on the next step of your journey. You will be missed and we will always hold you in our hearts but we have nothing but respect for you for making the choice to take space and time for yourself. Wishing you all the best.
Good luck with your future media jobs (I've already seen you as a regular on the cineworld channel)! You're region dedicated weeks will always be nostalgic in my mind.
I remember ywars ago stumbling across your original Fakemon region video, I had no idea who you were nor did I admittedly look any further, but I saved that video to the home screen of my iPod touch. Then, at least a few months later, I found you again completely at random, and it took me a bit to realise you were that same person I had saved to my iPod Touch.
You were a big part in my early experience on TH-cam, and even an inspiration to start creating my own videos, so even though you're leaving TH-cam I'll be glad for the memories you gave not just me, but you're entire community.
Thank you Toby for being here as long as you have. You are an absolutely wonderful man and I wish you the best in whatever you do going forward.

I remember we touched on a lot of similar stuff when we met during your visit to Japan. You've had a great run on TH-cam and I'm looking forward to see what you do next!
As your editor , a tip I can give you now... and later. Is to edit on the side in a discord call. I do this with one of my other clients (Thinkafurr) and we inspire eachother. Heck for a while we had an editor's office discord with some of your editors in there and we sometimes sit in a call editing together (wich was rare).
Do note that I didn't share any work of yours in these calls unless it was a fellow BKT editor to share tips and ways. (wich only happened once.)
I think not only do you get to see how we do things and why... but it also streamlines the styling of the channel.
And these sessions also made me try things in your videos since I learned a new trick.
Though my favorite thing I did was when I tried puppet animations and it started that trend. I thank you from the bottom of my heart as an editor that you let me try it, approve it and then me and Smoof started to share eachothers puppets and improving upon eachother to get the infamous pngs of these days!

Seriously though, You're freaking fantastic dude. Making all this spectacular and creative content throughout the years, and ive almost watched it all. While i do hope you'll return, even in brief bits in the future. i respect the fact you're wanting to do something different for at least a while. You're an inspiration to myself as a creator and many other people and will continue to be for years to come! Keep soaring high frendo!

On the editing note, something I've seen Jacksfilms do is that when he started using editors, he'd let them put their own style and creativity into the edit (sometimes you can tell who edited a particular video, for example), and he'd also do a final edit pass after they hand the video back to tidy a few bits up as well, so he still had that creative input on the editing as well.

One thing I notice people keep asking for a playable Zelda, I don't believe it will happen, as I feel it would have already happened, with Princess Peach, she was first fully playable since the NES, I feel this makes sense for her being playable in main line games, like Super Mario 3D world and Super Mario Wonder, and having her own games like Super Princess Peach and Princess Peach Showtime.

22:35 - I dunno, jumping into 'coolsville' sooner could break whatever narrative you're trying to set up. Assuming a narrative was your intention (see the videos Bonny John puts out now and again, they always feel like there's a narrative behind them, even though at the end of the day, it's a vehicle for sharing his art), leaning into it instead of cutting it out could in fact be of benefit.
25:40 - I don't think anyone can take that away from you, it's definitely a more positive place now than it was. You are to PokéTubing what Thabo Meerkat is to the furry fandom, lol. I think it's good to step away and not drag in drama that, while within the fandom, is still happening away from your own work - especially when most of it involves people you never interacted with. If you did interact with them in a working capacity, I think there would be a responsibility to say something, even if it's just to say that you don't support their actions. But, if I recall correctly, you've not worked with those people, so it would make sense that you've nothing to say.
(by the way, speaking of Thabo, I believe he only uploads monthly, that might be something worth thinking about if you're considering coming back in some capacity - then again, he does his videos in a news recap format, so his content lends itself quite well to that long form, slow release style)
Personally, I hope this isn't the end, I hope that sometime in the not too distant future, you could return - as Pokémon Professor Toby! ...Or alternatively, whatever other thing you decide to do :D
Toby is absolutely leaving his mark in these last few months, he's put out some of the dopest and highest quality content I've seen on this side of the platform in a long time.

I believe it’s because he wants to be more then just a TH-camr, but I’m nit sure if that’s entirely correct.
so far as i’m aware being a youtuber and the level of commitment he felt had to put in was gradually crushing his ability to be anything but a youtuber, which is not the best for your ability to do anything other than that such as be a person or rest
when a part of your life eats the rest of your life it can be a bit of a problem

In the landscape 2013-2016 you could just do Top 10 videos and make it big.
Wonder how many Poketubers around in that era realize how good they had it.
I don't know that it's quite that straightforward and certainly not by the time of 2016. I think it's easy to look back now and say "Just a Top 10" but even in the last decade the acidssessability and security of an online career has beoume more so. The risk was much higher so idk that they had it good, so much as they just had different problems and worries.
