The combat scenes were phenomenal. I would watch this episode over and over again. What I didn't like was that Jecki and Yord died. Now we have to see who the real Sith behind it is. Who taught Qimir? Will it be Darth Plagueis?

I’ve heard the timeline lines up more with Tenebrous. I guess we’ll see if there’s someone else behind the curtain. I know I’m sad about Jecki and Yord too ughhh. It’ll be weird not to see them in the show anymore.

  • @Iwillone

It’s debatable whether Qimir is really a Sith since he never really confesses to it and his whole thing is using your weaknesses against you, especially with words.
Plus, Kylo Ren’s theme is heard in this episode with him so perhaps he’s more so the progenitor of the Knights of Ren.

As an older Star Wars fan, that was the most impressive live action lightsaber duel I've seen in a long time. Maybe even better than the Prequel lightsaber duels.

When it comes to mind reading, I think he meant that if you see someone's face, know who they are, then they are easier to read. With the helmet, you can't form that personal connection. It is like 'look me in the eyes and tell me you don't lie'.
When it comes to colours, they change from one movie to another. Also in legends, and it is not unreasonable to believe this can be a thing in canon as well, crystals can simply display many shades of the same colour.
I loved how Qimir looked like a horror movie villain at times. And after the mask is gone, Manny did a wonderful job portraying him, switching emotions from one second to another. He also had the best lines IMO.
His outfit was pretty well thought too. Mask was really scary this time (didn't look like cheap cosplay), robes allowed him to cover his arms enough to fool the opponents while being well built actually, and also didn't restrain his moves. Combine that with cortosis and he looked and behaved like a total badass.
Kinda funny when people behave like Disney is all about candies and lollipops, then we have Andor executing 2 guys on their knees, and Qimir snapping Yord's neck which was never a thing in Star Wars. He looked like damn Shang Tsung.

    I really enjoyee this episode.
Thought the fight choreography was awesome.
Thought the acting was great especially the sol actor he killed it this episode
Shocked about jeckie ansld yord didnt expect them to die.
I had a feelinh qimir was the sith and i actually liked him as the sith, he was lke a new person. qimir was gone and he has become this dark twisted menacing being.
I wonder who trained him,? Maybe we will see his master by the end. 🤔
The bug scene bugged me 😂
Wasnt a fan of that either
Did u notice qimir had a duel saber that splits just like cal, again another fallen order similarity 😂
I think osha stopped sol from killinh the sith was because its not the jedi way, just like anakin with dooku on episode 3.

I think Sol does know it’s Mae. His response of “your sister” rather than using either of the twins’ names makes me think he already knows and just wants to lull Mae into a false sense of security. Assuming he’s sticking to Vernestra’s orders, the important thing was to get her onboard the ship and into custody on Coruscant. Even if Qimir is the much more dangerous threat.

RIP Not Plo Koon 😂 I thought this was an awesome episode. I think all the Jedi have to die in this series to stay consistent with Ki Adi's line in TPM. If no one outside of this group of Jedi knows who they interacted with then his line is true, but if Ki Adi and other Jedi find out it might be that they are covering it up and he isn't telling the truth in TPM. why does everyone get angry at this scene????
    it's fundamental to Star Wars....
and we've only seen it happen undisturbed once...
and that was in the movie that birthed Darth Vader...
it is easier to kill out of rage, that way you ensure the bad guy doesn't kill again, and you won the match.
but then..... what's stopping you from doing it again?
what's stopping you from just killing everyone who makes one mistake?
and then, what separates you from the sith?
which is what this scene represents and why Qimir is laughing throughout the fight....
because a so called "good guy" just attacked someone who's back was turned, attacked out of rage, and was about to kill an unarmed prisoner.
it might be convenient for everyone else to just kill him then and there.
but it's absolutely "not very Jedi-like"

    • @padawanchronicles
      @padawanchronicles  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Idk but Justice for Yord!! Lol
But seriously speaking, this is not the same as the ep 3 moment with Dooku. This man had just brutally murdered, what was it, like 5 or 6 Jedi? They have no way to detain him or arrest him peaceably. Anakin wanted to avenge himself because Dooku cut off his arm, but Sol was angry about the death of others, including his young Padawan. I think there’s a distinction that makes this different enough. Maybe, maybe not.

    • @BioTheRebel
      @BioTheRebel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@padawanchronicles well, Dooku had killed thousands by that point :v
      civilians, clones and Jedi alike.....
if anything i'd say Anakin's is more justified
but, still, doing it in the heat of the moment is what's wrong....
especially having time to think, decide and push on purely on anger.
had it happened during the duel, well 🤷‍♂️ it was a duel.

Oh well, what can I say? Fans are so predictable, and Lucasfilms knows it. Lucasfilm knows fans will criticize every detail, truly hate recons, and are easily pleased with glowing stick fights. The Acolyte is not Shakespeare, not that's trying to be. It's Star Wars and Star Wars IS for kids. Yes, The Acolyte is recon the Sith, (a story very well established by Lucas and Legends decades ago), but it seems Disney and Kennedy's Lucasfilm are about to wipe their butts with it. This episode is everything Star Wars is; bad script, silliness, great VFXs, Jedi, alien creatures, and whatever the Sith no Sith is. Whether the first 5 episodes are good depends on two basic questions; are you okay with what Star Wars was? Or do you subscribe to this new Disney Star Wars? Depending on how you feel the answer will be yes or no. To me, it was okay, because I never took Star Wars seriously. I was entertained, and that is all I want from Star Wars.
