    Life of a junior civil engineer can be tough. You will need to be outdoors in all weather conditions. Also, you will need to drive a pickup truck, making sure you don't damage it. Civil Engineers are licensed Professional Engineers (PE); thus, it is less likely to be replaced by foreign workers, although some work is done overseas under PE supervision. Computer science requires continuous learning to prevent obsolescence. There is a lot of outsourcing. I am not seeing too many programmers making it to age 65; it is a career for the young.

      So you all mean only in civil engineering getting sponsored or H1B visa is difficult .

    • @smwk2017
      @smwk2017 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anikm111 If you are talking about H-1B visa in USA, this is the situation. Each year, there are 65,000 H-1B visas so competition is fierce. If you lose your job, you have 60 days to leave the country. H-1B can be renewed once so the maximum duration is 3+3 = 6 years. Assuming you are a lucky one with H-1B visa and applying for green card, you need to prove to Labor Department that you are not stealing jobs from qualified locals and PR holders. Once Labor Cert is approved, wait in line for an available green card. Each country has its own queue based on your country of birth, not citizenship. For Indian born individuals, the wait for employment based green card can be a lifetime.

    Hi there,
    I am a recent graduate in civil engineering, but I felt that I have more passion on computer science than civil engineering. I also self taught myself with python, Linux, cloud and other fundamental stuffs in computer science.
    But the things I am not sure about, what are my chances of getting acceptance and scholarship if I applied for ms in software engineering ??
    I have good GPA with distinction, and good Gre score overall

      Made a video on how to do masters for free, scholarships for masters are rare. You might get only 10 to 2%.

    What about the scholarship for the master's degree?
    If I did Civil Engineering in my bachelor's and want to change to Computer Science for my Master's.
    Will the grades of the Civil Engineering in Bachelor and a good GRE help me to get a good scholarship for Master's in CS in the US?
