Don’t worry you will do good. Go for it. I would suggest Construction management and take classes in transportation. Construction might open more doors as you can apply for any job you want.

Now I'm working as a Product Owner. To answer your question, there are good schools in Florida ( USF, University of Florida ) these are good because of the location. There are a lot going around Miami, Orlando and Tampa in terms of construction. Nevada I believe there are some great Mines, Texas for Transportation. So either land up in a top school ( Ivy ) or go for the advantage of Location. Civil has a good scope in terms of job opportunities.

Both are good colleges. I suggest he go to where he wants to live for the next 5 years. New York has better job opportunities but can be a bit expensive as well.

It’s usually gives you a good idea about the colleges. Use the undergrad acceptance rate for masters as well.
