There is a live Pink Floyd performance with Dick Parry on sax where he wears both tenor and alto around his neck, and when it comes time to change he just kind of shrugs and switches from one to the other. That was even more impressive if you ask me. Not to say Edgar isn't impressive mind you.

Edgar’s tone, timing, and phrasing are so freaking good it’s frightening. I’ve always found it really hard to keep from rushing while ripping off triplet arpeggios, and he just sits pretty in the pocket like it’s the most natural thing.

The Edgar Winter band performed with the Husky marching band at halftime at a Husky football game I attended about 10 years ago. It was really great. He played his keyboard and saxophone. They played Frankenstein and free ride and the whole stadium was rocking.

The way Ringo and Edgar along with Hamish crush this song is awesome! I'm 62 now and can recall dancing in my 8th grade talent show to Cut The Cake! The AWB original line up (Robbie McIntosh/Steve Ferrone, Hamish and Alan Gorrie together) will always be my favorite. Hamish still floors me with the 5 second riff he pulls off at 2:43! This song is eternally funky!

Bad Co. played most of their first album and when Edgar Winter came out he said, "We have a special treat" and i thought Johnny was there and then Rick Derringer runs onto the stage hits his knees and slides about 25 feet across the stage. Flippin' Awesome Show.
Saw him in summer 1974 in Ashville, NC. With Rick Derringer. I was waiting tables and washing dishes in a summer camp near Hendersonville before starting university in England
Yes !!! Edgar is unsung hero of Rok/POP If you have the chance to see him live, do so !!! On Frankenstein, he plays 2 saxes at same time, plus keyboards, & Latin percussion. He can play guitar too, & what a voice !!!!!

Steve Lukather is one of the most experienced and outright incredible guitar players to ever come down the pike. It would take all day to read through his music resume. Even getting older, Edgar Winter has always been one of rocks most talented. Keys, Sax, percussion and a voice that still towers over it all. If you're a white boy and want to sing/scream the blues...there's your mentor.

Ringo always picks great musicians for his all star band. Hamish Stuart on guitar was an original member of Average White Band and also played for Paul McCartney. I'd seen Hamish on Pauls "Flowers In The Dirt" tour U.C. Berkley in Beserkly, Calif while doing concert security for Bill Graham. Two sold out shows at 60, 000 each. Also did concert security during Ringo's FIRST all star band...EXEELENT!!

As a musician Edgar is miles ahead of almost anyone I know. Not a putdown of Ringo and Todd who are great but Edgar live is unbelievable and all with such a sense of ease whether its sax, synth, piano, singing and also rapping.

This video is a great masterclass in onstage communication between musicians. There are basically no lyrics, so everyone must pay attention to turn those corners. It's great to listen closely to pick out the subtle cues that Ringo and Gregg send out to keep everyone on the same page.
I knew musicians who took lessons from the same piano teacher Edgar (and his brother Johnny) had in Beaumont, Tx. Met the brothers once, but it was the 70s and I’m surprised I still remember it. I’m sure they didn’t.
All these old guys are still kicking ass. 😆. I saw Johhny and Edgar several Times live in 70's. Together and separately. Those guys were some of the most talented musicians I have seen. And since the 70's that is alot of people. Together they just blew everybody's mind.
I saw AWB in 1974 at the UofI Champaign. It was a great concert. My frat buddy and I dressed as flashers (with jeans underneath our overcoats). It was funny at the time.
I got to meet Hamish at Beatlefest 2000 back home in Los Angeles. He is very lucky. Got to be with Paul for a few years an tour the world an then with Ringo. This song brings back some far out memories. Far out
