Sir Kenneth Arthur Dodd OBE was born in Knotty Ash on November 8th 1927. Comedian, actor and singer (he charted 18 times in the top 40) Doddy was simply a delight. Known for performing hours on end, legend has it venue managers would give him the keys to lock up after he finished, this whirlwind of an entertainer first started performing in 1945 and his final show was on December 28th 2017 at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
He died March 11th 2018 in the house he was born in.

He died in the house he was born in? How many people can say that? How many people are born in a house? I think of those charting hits, one was a top ten biggest selling single of the 60s. Unlikely I'd've thought but true.
