Fred Emney - The Old Boys Network - TX 19th October 1979

Fred Emney, Water Rat 336.
Born Frederick Arthur Round Emney on February 12th 1902 in Prescot, Lancashire. His father, Fred Snr, was a comic and he came from a theatrical family. He worked in Music Hall until his film debut in 1935. He became popular as the "Gruff, posh fat man" to many a screen audience.
he died Christmas Day, 1980.
The Old Boys Network was a TV show dedicated to old Music Hall and Variety performers.
