I also thought it was funny in another episode, in one scene he's basically pawing her all over and kissing her all over, but at the end we see they still have "his" and "hers" beds. Like they're madly in love and engage in PDA all the time but sleep in separate beds? Right...
John Astin burns his thumb on his cigar. Start at the line "Wouldn't that be interesting?" Try beginning at 1:40. He flinches at about 1:44 (also look for the scorch mark on his thumb if you freeze-frame at the right spot) and then he's looking at and rubbing his fingers of his left hand and makes it look like he's still thinking about a hand full of thumbs,. Which may be but, he's also rubbing his burnt thumb. Astin was a great and underrated character actor.

I love the Addams family. And I love the character of Gomez Addams … The way that he adores and worships his wife is so beautiful and wonderful. A lesson for many men to learn 🙏🏻
_Gomez had ancestors in the amazonian Forest Jungle. So, probably he wasn’t directly from Spain, he was descendant of South Americans!! (Colombia, Ecuador, Brasil, and Peru) the five amazonian countries. He could have had Colombian ancestors!_ 😭😭😭🇨🇴
That explains his wealth and love of swamps!!! He started out life as a head hunter Collecting shrunken heads from rival clans and selling them to tourists!
Well it is possible that Gomez's ancestors were conquistadors, Addams is neither a Spanish nor a South American name. Sounds English to me. Did he adopt that persona because he was a great lover, or did he become a great lover because he adopted that persona?
@@mom5catskyle596 Morticia refers to him as "Castilian" (or something similar) enough times to make me think he was really Spanish, although it's unclear exactly where his people were from. I'm guessing South America, though.
@@jazzmanchgo Addams could be a Scottish name. There were many mercenaries, adventurers and pirates in South America, not all from Spain and Portugal. The Addams family fortune could have been established in the 17th or 18th century by an Englishman or Scot who struck it rich and married into a prominent Spanish family.
@@mrdanforth3744 Certainly, because in Spanish-speaking countries we have 2 surnames, the first from the paternal lineage and the second from the maternal lineage, Addams is their paternal last name, and I think his family simply do not use the second anymore because it is not customary as USA citizens I supose, also Gomez means Son of Gome in Spain and since the middle ages beomes a surname by the descendents of tha guy named Gome, a spanish lastname ended in Z means "son of", Gomez, son of Gome, Perez son of Pere, Rodriguez son of Ruy, etc. But the Addams had to come to America from Europe directly because in Spain they used to change or Spanishize foreign surnames, in my family the surname of my maternal grandfather Galaz is actually Gallagher from Ireland, they lived for centuries in Spain and served as knights and then some of them crossed the pond and setled here, for instance the surname Obregón in fact is O'Brien, and so on. And lastly, Morticia refering Gomez as "castillian" could mean his family comes from Castile in Spain, and/ or used to own castles in Spain, so he come from old money. Greetings from Sonora, Mexico.

@@eijiniizuma6184 I like how in one episode he tells Gomez that he's his favorite nephew. I always like how Gomez always called him things like "Fester, old boy" and things like that.
Mr. Pomeroy is played by the great Frank Nelson from the Jack Benny show, where he would utter his trademark phrase "EEE-Yeeesss, can I help you?" He also showed up in everything from I Love Lucy to Bugs Bunny cartoons. He was even spoofed on The Simpsons.
My favorite line he ever uttered was in the Lucy episode "The Great Train Robbery" after the emergency brake has been employed and chaos ensues. He approaches Lucy Ricardo moments later and says "Did you stop this train?" There was just something about his delivery of that line. Lucille Ball must have really liked his work. He appears on a handful of "I Love Lucy" episodes in different roles.
Did you notice that the mailman delivered two envelopes, but Thing only delivered one? Perhaps the other one was for Thing! That teacup routine was priceless!
Hate to ruin a good thing, but I think they just re-used footage from the first (?) episode. Same with the train set exploding. In a few episodes, I found that Morticia would mysteriously morph into Mr. Hilliard when it explodes.

I just love John Astin. He never seems to need any effort at all to stay in character. 😄
"The rest is taxidermy!"
can we take a moment to realize just how gorgeous Morticia is like omg
Seriously!!! She’s the Goth Queen!! 🖤💜❤️🔥
Always so poised and graceful!
Best line, with the ABSOLUTE best delivery:
"...don't worry, when Fang makes that noise, nobody rides him. "
I just love how elegant and polite they all are. Something seriously lacking in today’s society! I wish more wholesome tv shows were on tv again like this.
" Here Kitty, Here Kitty.," Lion Comes Down The Stairs!😁. Hilarious! God Bless. 🦁
Such an awesome old lion....:) You won't see his like these days. :( Gosh, thanks, PeTA!! :(
@@RICDirector 2019 movie: am I a joke to you?
I freaking love Uncle Fester's way of handling things! He was the funniest!
He makes the same joke like 4 times in a row and it's still funny.
"I'll shoot 'em in the back!"
@@cindydott452In the Back! 🤣
She is the best mortica ever >
She's the best everything ever. She was beautiful
Hey now, to be fair...
Raul and Angelica put a lot of love and affection for the family into their portrayals...
You can't help but love the passion between Morticia and Gomez. ❤❤
Mr. Pomeroy (Frank Nelson) did tons of voice work on many shows including the Flintstones and Mr. Magoo
I think I recognize him from I love Lucy too as Ricky's agent. If not another character
@RockManLP oh I remember him as well! I just heard an episode with that "yeeesss" and i laughed so hard! I forgot what it was called though
I knew that voice is familiar. Thank you for identifying him. He did old radio comedy.
He way Mr Ramsey in season 6 of I love Lucy
Do you know that he is included in many of the Simpsons episodes?
Not sure who does the voice of the character...but there is no mistaking FRANK NELSON! Only those of us who saw him on 50's, 60's and 70 television shows would recognize him tho!
No matter if it's a tv show, cartoon, or movie, I always loved when Gomez would fence!
I love how Wednesday was the one who gave him a black eye.😂 fits!
Honestly their family is more functional than others I've seen. And I love it.
@Funfetti - Yeah compare it with the Fox Comedy "Married with Children". Even though Married... had more acceptable behaviors in general, none the less they had horrible family values and values in general. Always snipping at each other and putting each other down. No work ethic, Peg and Al couldn't stand each other, family totally dysfunctional, etc. I know which family I'd prefer to be in...
One of the best episodes in a classic series. The dialogue was so clever.
Gomez and Morticia are one of the best parents on tv. Trying to settle a fight with their children and another boy, being modest about their net worth. 👍🏻 💯
The Addams a family living in an old Mansion adjacent to a Cemetery and Swamp in New Jersey are one of the wealthiest families in the world during this series.
"lets be modest about our advantages" wish more people lived that way
Carolyn was gorgeous! Great to see the shows I grew up with.
I love this channel because I can watch the Addams family series in Thailand now
57 years later and I still love the Addams Family
“She must’ve hit him while his back was turned.”
“In the _eye?”_
I love Gomez’s reaction there. Even he’s calling BS on that. 😂
I love this version of uncle fester, I grew up with the 90s movie and New Addams Family but this is by far the funniest and lovable version of that character.
the backstory for this version is better than that of the 90s version imo because here hes morticias uncle who moves in to watch over his niece after she marries gomez.
@@eijiniizuma6184 I like how in one episode he tells Gomez that he's his favorite nephew. I always like how Gomez always called him things like "Fester, old boy" and things like that.
@@cindydott452 Gomez refers to fester as an inlaw once during the series run and its in season 2 ep 8 "Morticia the writer"
I'm loving these full episodes. Thank you MGM
So glad John Astin is still with us. He turned 91 March 30th, 2021
Morticia is so elegant and graceful. She was one of my role models, growing up 😁
My brother would always get mad because I would take his guitar, pluck a single string, and sing the "Haa-Roo" song like Morticia!
Mr. Pomeroy is played by the great Frank Nelson from the Jack Benny show,
where he would utter his trademark phrase "EEE-Yeeesss, can I help you?"
He also showed up in everything from I Love Lucy to Bugs Bunny cartoons.
The way everyone reacts to Thing handing them stuff always kills me😂
8:30 way to go Wednesday u show that little punk!!
Mother is still the best tarantula wrapper🤣😂. Legendary series.
I'm mad they didn't credit Thing for helping tho xD
@@Ariel_is_a_dreamer He certainly had a hand in it👏🏻😂
I love it when they use the gong for lurch...he's there instantly lol...
Morticia: "You're all thumbs."
Gomez, aggressively eyeing his fingers: "Wouldn't that be interesting..."
I wish you would Air Morticia's Romance part 1... this is the best insight into their love affair.... & how they were made for each other...
i had heard about that one but have never seen it. always wanted to.
Ucan watch on an app called daily motion
I’d love to have to have The Addams Family as neighbors, they maybe different but they are definitely caring and loving people
Those pomeranians are an insult.
I'm shocked that Morticia and Gomez would even allow the kids to play with those plastic dolls.
I love the look on Gomez's face when Mortica says she's glad they don't burn witches anymore.
This is the Addams Family that my Dad grew up with. As a result, it’s the one I grew up with.
It’s somehow timeless.
Of all the lead female characters in TV history , Carolyn Jones as Morticia has to the the most beautiful and elegant
unparalled
"YOU know Kitty he can't stand the taste of people" 😾
3:40 it’s not a competition or nothing but I dropped my bride with each step of the stairs
That would be impressive if you lived on the 90th floor. 😉
I see the double entendre
I assume that that ruined the mood for the night
And that, Lady's and Gentlemen, is true and classic comedy!
"No one rides Fang when he makes that noise." I love them. Haha
Carolyn Jones is such a timeless beauty, I crushed on her 45yrs ago, and now I truly see why.
The most beautiful and close knit family in the history of the world... what every father strives for..
Did you notice that the mailman delivered two envelopes, but Thing only delivered one? Perhaps the other one was for Thing! That teacup routine was priceless!
Maybe it was the wrong address or junkmail. 😂
Hate to ruin a good thing, but I think they just re-used footage from the first (?) episode. Same with the train set exploding. In a few episodes, I found that Morticia would mysteriously morph into Mr. Hilliard when it explodes.
@@ricardoquerubin3962 Exactly so!
This series was so life-enhancing when you were a kid.
Just fantastic !
Impressive that the tarantula cuts a perfect circle in the side of the box.
It’s Frank Nelson! Kept expecting him to say “yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees?”
*OMG, Wednesday is so cute!*
I wish I had a Pet like Kitty.
The lion would attack you.
@@rickym242 Everyone knows Kitty can't stand the taste of people.
Or Fang.
@James Campbell Kitty was always my favorite pet in the series. Too bad the remakes did nt have him.
Kitty’s adorable
"I bet they have daisys in there yard!" "Please dont make me ill " that is hilarious! And so true!!!!!!
its funnier when you account for the fact morticias elder sister has daisys growing out of her scalp. lol
@@eijiniizuma6184 I loved when they had the dual role episodes! It always looked like Carolyn Jones had so much fun playing Morticia's scatterbrained sister Ophelia!
The Addams are the most romantic couple on TV or in movies. Such sweet people.
That was always my favorite quote from the original series... "Let me shoot 'em in the back!"
Oh Uncle Fester, I feel the same way. I used to turn the other cheek but I too have run out of cheeks to turn.
Never mind turning the other cheek. Just stare them down the way Gomez does, with those eyes!
