I'm a "senior" and I appreciate the way you present your videos. Not too fast, not too slow, stay with the subject making your explanations clear and calm so even I can understand. Thank you.
Thank you Otto, very good content for beginners like myself. I have the DJI mini 3 pro and have only flown it once. I need to brush up on the basics and start flying again. Thank you for your videos they get right to the point and help tremendously.
Thanks Otto! I can’t believe how much useful information you packed into 8 minutes! One note on the hand take offs and landing. I never thought I would use that but still practiced until I was comfortable doing that. On a recent vacation to the shore, hand take off and landing was a necessity and I was so glad I had practiced at home first. Keep up the great videos!
You are welcome Richard! Agreed about taking of with your hand. I find myself nowadays mostly taking off and landing like that with all my drones, it takes practice and getting used to but I'm hoping that more people will learn how to do so properly. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment!
First let me say "welcome back". I assume you were on vacations the past weeks. Great video. Clear, short enough and straight to the points. Thank you for sharing with the community
Hello Vincent!!! Thank you! Believe it or not, no vacations yet. Had to solve some technical problems here and there and time just seems to fly away too fast !!
Great job Otto, I have watched many tutorials on this drone, most are very similar, yours is quite unique and provides a great deal of insight and information useful to a beginner like me that I didn’t get in videos several times as long. Thank you!
Great tips Otto. I will start flying for the first time after Christmas and have one question. When using the hand landing method as you’re using the left joy stick slowly pulling it down to altitude for catching the drone, once you catch the drone, you pull the left stick all the way down, does that shut down the drone? Thanks for sharing 🙏
Hi. Good luck in your first flight! Yeah, you keep pulling the stick down until it shuts down. Some people like to flip the drone, I like to avoid doing this as it feels like the drone tries to fight it and I don’t like forcing the motors (but that’s just me)
All noted! I finally made an order for the Mini 3. I just heard the new update allows compatibility with the RC Pro so things just got more interesting. Will stay tuned if you can test that out.
If you are looking at the original 4K videos on your computer then I’m not so sure what’s going on. Your shutter speed is probably quite high because you are not using ND filters and following the 180 degree rule, but I can’t confirm if that’s the reason of your problem
Hello sir Otto! Your tips and tutorials are amazing! I just bought my m3pro last week and starting to practicing it. I just want to ask you what memory card is good to use with this drone and in the rc? Because in the future i want to use it for income like important events and vlogging. Thanks in advance!
yeah it would be nice if there was a fly more kit with something else instead of the carrying case. I've got a few of those already, doing nothing on my shelf haha
Just Curious, You mentioned that you should not put ND filters on the Gimbal when it is on because it could damage the gimbal. But, in your video, when your showing how to set the exposure for the correct ND filter the Mini3 Pro looks like it is on, you can see the lights blinking. Is there a certain mode that is not on but lets you still see what the camera see's so you can set exposure? Ordered mine the other day direct from DJI, should be here soon!
Hi Leon. Sorry about the confusion. If you watch the video again, the drone needs to be on to try out which ND filter will give you the proper exposure, BUT if you look closely, I’m not installing it, I just place it in front of the camera (without even touching it). When I find the proper ND filter I want to use, I turn off the drone and proceed to install it
Just a warning to those thinking of getting this thing ... DO NOT! It is rare to deal with a company that is as screwed up as DJI. I spent hours dealing with very nice support people on chat but they were powerless to get by INSANE rules and limitations. As much as they tried, I gave up and set up a return to AMAZON just a moment ago. I really wish I had been able to get this thing to do more than rise up 4 feet and then shut down due to over heating. Don't believe the hype. If a thing sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
@@TheTy502 The connection issue probably is due to a defect. DJI thought so and set up a repair ticket. However, that it had to be a "repair" and not a "replace" is a DJI issue and speaks to poor corporate management. Such things get only worse with time and I count this encounter and ab blessing. I now know I want nothing to do with DJI.
@@OttoJulian_ Thanks for that. But, as I say, the experience has saved me from much worse down the road. When a corporation shows you that they don't care and will mistreats you, believe them. As to the Drone itself, I'm of two minds. It looks very fragile. The props on it are paper thin. It overheats if you look at it the wrong way. Various reports on TH-cam indicate that it easily loses contact with the controller and may never be seen again. Against those problems, it is pretty cool looking. My short 4 foot vertical take off and shut down was a lot of fun! ;-) Of course, this is a somewhat early version of something insanely complex for the consumer market. What could possibly go wrong there? It may be that it will get better with more miniaturization of circuitry and better light weight batteries. Batteries are becoming so important that much work is going into improving life and weight. Then we will have to see how things change as they drop in price and become more popular. I don't know how old you are, but way back in the olden years we had a thing called "CB Radio". It became dirt cheap and every Tom, Dick, and Harry had one. The FCC could not control the misuse and simply gave up. Technically you still need a license but NOBODY bothers any more. Fortunately, we have moved on and only truckers still use these things, so far as I have noticed. Nobody but other truckers are hurt by the noise of misuse. My point being, things move on and change over time. The time compression, however, has become breathtaking. I hope your experiences continue to be positive.
Maybe instead of spending hours to get a replacement as a warranty item instead of them wanting to look at it you should have simply returned it and bought it again. No time lost. You have your new one and not a repaired one. By your complaints it sounds like you overheated it? It cools itself by flying.

You are welcome !!
Great commentary, thank you
You are welcome !!
Since obstacle avidance is a wondeful new feature of the Mini3, thanks for that info on the settings. These are all useful tips.
Glad you enjoyed it!
How much time do you get on 256gb mini SD card with a DJI Mini 3 Pro?
Shooting in 4K 30fps
that will hold a good amount of hours. I do recommend getting 2 128's (never place all your eggs in one basket)
Thank you great videos
You are welcome !!
Great video Otto
I just ordered my DJI Mini 3 Pro - lots of learning to do before it arrives :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for these tips
You are so welcome!
Hello Otto, great video on tips and tricks. As I am getting lots of video anti-alsing issues on my video. Could you have any thoughts on this ?
Hi. What settings are you using ?
@@OttoJulian_ using dcinelike mode. 4k 30fps auto mode. Just locked exposer. And do not have ndfilter yet.
Are you looking at the video that’s on the SD card on your drone DIRECTLY on your computer?

Excellent et très bien fait (Well done :) )
Thank you so much !!
well done Otto. good effort and good job on the video
Thanks!
If one shoots in D Cinelike is the picture on remote also washed out?
Yes correct
@@OttoJulian_ Ah, that sounds like it’s really hard to record during daylight. Washout colors and sun don’t go well together. Thank you.
Thank you Sir for this useful video.
You are most welcome
All great tips. Thanks
Thank you Eddy for your comment!
Thank you, I never use the carry bag That comes with a fly more kit either, I have hard cases for everything
yeah it would be nice if there was a fly more kit with something else instead of the carrying case. I've got a few of those already, doing nothing on my shelf haha
@@OttoJulian_ which hard cases do you use please?
I can take off with it in my hand but can't land it because of obstruction sensors. Do you have yours switched off?
No, they are on. When the drone goes up you need to insist on landing, it will do it after just a couple of seconds
@@OttoJulian_ ok, so just keep the control pressed down and it will override the sensors? I will try that later at the beach. Thanks.
