Hey drone brother, can you make a quick video on how to retrieve the flight logs and get them copied to a local computer? I use the DJI RC controller (with the built-in touch screen) with the Mini 3 Pro. I have MSD cards in both devices. Right now I have my controller configured to auto upload my logs to the DJI cloud space but I read they do not let you access them via cloud login. You can only download them to a mobile device. I also use a Windows based PC (not a MAC GUY)

If you're out in the field and you've used up the memory in the drones SD card, have an SD card of a high capacity in your remote and swap them around. It's like a spare that's always with you.

I rule I adhere to with my DSLR cameras is "never close the door on an empty slot". That way I can tell at a glance if the SD card is still plugged into my computer. Unlike my old Mavic Pro, the Mini 3 Pro doesn't have a cover over the slot... and I forget the card at least once a week. I keep a spare card in my shoulder bag specifically for this purpose. Today I had left _that_ one at home too, but I still had a card in my RC so I was good to go...

Great summary. The best tip was the first one, how to put on the camera cover. One more item that you might suggest is how to change the frequency of the transmission. I’m in a city environment now and it does not work on the 2.4. Only on the five. So it is important to know. Great work. Very much appreciated your efficient and to the point comments.

Macro focus, never knew this one. A tip for anyone that wants to use tracking but make sure your in focus. Set up the tracking then put it into manual focus and set it up with peeking on. As the drone will retain that distance so to will you keep in focus and can see it in peeking mode. Good for Vlogs. Thanks.

"At night : i didnt know when you hit record the Lights on the drone stop flashing: it makes sense due to avoiding leaking light into the recording
    2. the drone will not have any obstacle avoidance in whatso ever no matter what setting
    3. which is the better way to capture night footages of like downtown areas with bright lights "Auto? or Pro?
    4. when doing master shots the drone with only have 30 fps not 24
its a lot more that im finding alot of people who talk about this drone miss

Mattheww Brennan's videos on the min 3 pro are the very best.
There is an issue with the mini 3 pro "return to home" function that needs to be addressed. For those of us who plan to use our drone for hikes, walks and other forms of travel, we don't want the drone to return to the take-off point. The solution is to "Update Home Point" frequently. But, I have found this function does not work and the drone will always return to the point of take off. Other mini 3 drone owners have experienced the same problem. No one seems to have an answer.
I consulted with the DJI technical help desk frequently and got conflicting answers: (i) you cannot update the home point to the location of the controller, (ii) you can update the home point to the location of the controller, just like the mini 2, (iii) you can update the home point to the location of the controller as long as there is a strong GPS signal and (iv) you can update the home point to the location of the controller, but only if you have a wifi connection through a hot spot on your mobile phone.
The latest answer from DJI's senior advisors is that you can update the home point to the location of the controller, but only if you "Update Home Point" twice. I was told by these advisors that DJI is working on a firmware fix that will enable a "Dynamic Home Point" function that will allow the home point to be updated to the controller with just one click on the "Update Home Point," which will automatically switch the home point to the location of the controller.
Maybe Mattheww or others can comment on this issue, which is a game changer for those of us who want to use our mini 3 pro for travel.
In the meantime, if anyone has a better answer, please contact me at edxceo@aol.com.

Why do you think DJI does not offer return to remote? Seems like a simple feature to add, and it would avoid having to manually update the home position. I use the drone from my boat, so “return to remote” is much more useful than “return to home.” Maybe you can put in a request for DJI to add that on a future release 😊

    • @TheDroneCreative
      @TheDroneCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

I agree with you. Return to remote would be a great feature, or an option to update the home point at timed intervals!

Thanks, that was excellent. Yes, I indeed picked up some tips, starting from thing number 1. And I'm saving the video for when I'm ready for the other tips. ;) BTW, I just stumbled on the Flight Data Center under "Profiles". In all the Mini 3 Pro videos I've watched over the last couple of months, this was the first time I saw that. I'd like to get your take on using it. And while you're at it, how about telling us what you know about .SRT files. :)
