Hi, I have a bamboo kalimba but surely you will be able to advise me...does a transparent kalimba or one made of some type of wood sound better? Then the ones with 21, 24, 31 keys or the professional ones, what kind do you recommend?
Thank you for watching my kalimba journey :) The song is titled kanto route and you can learn it on my website www.kalimbaclasses.com/kalimba-tutorials/kanto-route Happy playing! ❤
Dear Sam, I still have a question. But in advance - a really great video with valuable tips for us beginners - thank you very much for that. 🥳👍. I'm already practicing hard. But how do I learn to play "blind"? I have to look at the numbers of the song and at the same time at the tongues of the Kalimba. I despair of that 🥺. Do you have any advice for beginners? Kind regards 🤗
I’m not exactly sure but I think those notes are either played at the same time or as a “slide” like you know what I mean? When you slide your nail over multiple notes
you can retune your whole kalimba to the key of C if it allows you to shift it that far. Though if you already have some knowledge with music theory then you can try playing songs in the key of F and use tutorials in the key of C and transpose notes that sound off. Though it all depends on your preference. I have a kalimba in the key of B and some songs sound better there though I am using tabs made for the key of C.
hello! what you can do is to tune it to a different key to see if it gets the tines lose. Try to move it to the right or left a bit to see if that helps the resonance. For the last resort some people add a tiny piece of paper underneath the tines and it works for them. Best of luck!
I picked up a Kalimba last week on a whim and learned 3 Zelda tunes and we wish you a merry Christmas. Lots of good information here! Although I have one question, is there a way to lessen or stop the buzzing effect when rapidly playing a single bite? I tried to learn a song that presses a note rapidly 3 and 4 times but it sounds like buzzing the whole time in the section. Thanks and have a good day!

Hi Sam, this was really helpful, but what do dashes mean? Thx for the helpful vid ❤

Thank you again.
Very very useful
Can you do a tutorial for the music "Vois sur ton chemin" from the french film "Les Choristes " ?please 🙏🙏🙏
Is it normal to hit your nails at the bottom of the kalimba while playing?
Should I have not gotten an acrylic to start with 😵💫 it was so cute but I didn’t think about weight… watchin this the day before it ships out lol 😅
I appreciate this very much, just really wish you had not used white letters, very difficult to read.
Can you please take one on one class
Super helpful tutorial but the background music in the beginning is a little loud and distracting.
I just got my first kalimba but I don’t think it’s in the key of C, the middle note is F so is that going to make it harder to learn?

@@SamSalvador thank you . I move key right, left and little upside, now it sounds good . Once again, thank you Sam ❤
I just bought one
You forgot to mention making music with your own tunes instead of just covers. Hehe.
Bonjour , merci beaucoup pour votre aide 🙏....y a t'il la possibilité d'avoir les sous-titres en français ou en italien s'il vous plait?....merci.
And Chinese also. 😅

I know all these things, but I don't even have my own kalimba. My family doesn't like the sound and they forbade me from buying a kalimba. 😢
💪👏👏👏
