Hands-on with NuPhy’s Field75 HE Magnetic Keyboard

- The Field75 HE caught my interest for two reasons: the extra buttons and knobs, as well as the magnetic switches - which together make this an interesting keyboard that I think has a home in productivity as well as gaming... Oh ya, and it polls at 8000Hz - but is that worth the "wired-only" tradeoff?

Nuphy’s Dynamic Keystroke has issues and has not received any communications if it will get resolved.
The issue is when multiple keys are setup to also press and release another key. For example W, A, S, and D key are setup to also press the Shift key when fully pressed.
With W key fully pressed, Shift key is also pressed. When another key, like D, is pressed and released, the Shift key is also released. This happens even when the W key is still fully pressed. This is an unexpected behavior, Shift key should still be pressed due to W key being fully pressed.
Interesting, not sure I ran into this. Just to clarify - if I configure A to be WASD, and I try holding down on shift at the same time, it will only recognize shift for the W, but not the ASD? Is that correct? I’d like to try replicating the issue
Thank you for your feedback! We are aware of the issue with the Dynamic Keystroke feature and are currently working on a fix. We expect it to be resolved within this month. Appreciate your patience and continued support for NuPhy! If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to us.
@@nuphystudioI’m new to keyboards so potential noob question here but would this be a software update or a hardware change?
@@Eung-Homieshould be software
@@radueduard5544 thank god because I saw this thread immediately after I bought my keyboard lol
Wow! Just when you thought you had built the most expensive collection f mechanical keyboards, it’s great to know we can keep spending our disposable incomes on keyboards forever and ever! 😁👍
Just bought this a couple of weeks ago and it's now Oct. 11 and the macro functionality isn't available and I really want it for my gaming... which is part of the reason I bought this keyboard.
I'm using this keyboard now and I love it. It works great when I play Call of Duty MW3
Does it has auto sleep function where it would turn off the rgb if there's inactivity? If that so, can we turn off that function?
Ngl this looks like baby's first gaming keyboard, thats you give them to calm them down
An HE keyboard that sounds good?! No way
I want it but wont buy without the full keypad on the side. Really want to try
Thinking to buy this one or to wait for wooting 80HE to be released, your thoughts?
Wooting. But if you're "waiting for release" just don't and buy whatever. If you're not gaming or don't care about best software / latency.
@@aeit999Why Wooting over this one?
@MadLadsAnonymous all and every single Chinese keyboard has one in common awfull software that rarely works or gets abandoned. Or it's "universal." Wooting is serious, and their support and communication with gamers is flawless. Snappy tappy in response to razer was instant. And you didn't have to "get the latest product or it won't work"
Besides, the QC on PCB is top-notch. They would rather hold up whole production to eliminate single IC that have a 5% chance to shortcircut the board.
Keycaps can always be swapped. If you prefer other switches, they can also be swapped. Heck, you can buy just kits and do it yourself.
But for the love of Gaben, nobody needs 101 keyboards that perform worse than Wooting but looks better (subjectively)
@@aeit999 Wow, thanks for the input. I will look into a Wooting PCR board !
I am still waiting on my wooting 80 HE and plan on keeping it still. But I bought one of these and it is actually an awesome keyboard. I like the uniqueness and extra buttons. I will probably main my Wooting TBH but I am keeping this.
May be a bit of a silly question, but for the hotswap feature; Are they only hotswappable for distinct hall effect/magnetic switches?
Yes they are - this is one of the limitations of magnetic keyboards in general because they are sensitive to the magnetic field of the switches.
Are the bottom G buttons below the space bar easy to accidentally trigger?
I haven’t accidentally triggered them once so far 👍🏻
you screw up you description "Filed75"
I really need a new keyboard.
I like the aesthetics of this one, but the clacky sound will drive me insane.
I need something well-built, but thoccy.
Please HELP!
Check out the Lemokey L1 - it has a similar aesthetic, but metallic body and mores switch options because it’s mechanical.
@@JakeReevesVideo thanks, will do
Does this work on Playstation 5?
Wait, when you said press the like button, the like button actually light up on my browser. Is it TH-cam new AI feature or you have to set it within the video?
I think the Field75 HE design is cool enough to me. Also, it sounds good and honestly quite competitively priced for now.
Also the extra key functions, and the software that actually works.
The handle is actually useful for hefty keyboards.
Interesting - that isn’t a feature I’ve configured, so it is perhaps TH-cam’s AI features 🪄
@@JakeReevesVideo Fascinating.
wooting clears
check latency test and it slams wooting in latency compared to the 60 and 80
Do not like the industrial design.
since games are banning players how are using them, the value is zero now
I wouldn't go so far as to say there is zero value with magnetic keyboards. Valve has banned SOCD (Snap Tap) in Counter-Strike 2, and I suspect some others will follow suite; however, there are a lot of other benefits with magnetic keyboards (actuation distance settings, Mod Tap, etc. - they also typically prioritize higher polling rates and lower latency connections). Things are evolving, but I don't foresee magnetic keyboards disappearing - I even think ModTap, etc. are useful features for productivity (non-gaming) use ✌🏻
@@JakeReevesVideo did you know if you get banned in some games you have to buy a new PC not just an account (that what reduces the the value to zero or maby even more).
more game companies are going to ban people how are using these keyboards, its just a matter of time.
its not my opinion its a fact.
Where are you seeing the details regarding having to buy a new PC if you get caught without SOCD disabled? I could see them making rulings on your account, but I'm not sure I understand how they would be tethering you to your hardware. From my understanding, they will be monitoring your in-game actions to determine if your reactions are within the realm of human-capabilities, or if you are using hardware (or scripting) to enhance your in-game actions.
From the official Valve post (www.counter-strike.net/newsentry/6500469346429600836) it sounds like they will be kicking you from a game, but those who have tested it to-date have said that you can then re-join the game so that you can continue to play as long as you disable SOCD.
Also worth noting here that the new rule also applies to some Macros that would be used to create multiple actions from a single key-input, which is something that is independent of magnetic keyboards... So I still struggle to see how all magnetic keyboards have lost their value if mechanical keyboards are also capable of getting you booted from a game, but they don't lose their value.
